The Ohio State head coach will serve as a court coach at the training camp of the USA Basketball Men’s U19 national team from June 15 to 17 at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Though Holtmann has spent two decades as a college coach, including eight seasons as a head coach, he has not previously held any assignments for USA Basketball.

“Representing USA Basketball and working with some of our country’s best young players is an honor and privilege,” Holtmann said in a statement. “USA Basketball has assembled a tremendous coaching staff and I look forward to working alongside them and helping in any way.”

The U19 team is coached by Kansas State's Bruce Weber. Washington's Mike Hopkins and North Carolina Central's LeVelle Moton are the assistant coaches. Denver's Rodney Billups, Bethel's Jeff Britt, Colorado's Jeff Culver, Indiana Hills Community College's Hank Plona and former NBA player Aaron Gray will join Holtmann as court coaches, helping Weber, Hopkins and Moton run the three-day training camp.

The three-day period will be used to determine which of the 34 invitees will make the final roster of the U19 team. 

Holtmann will have an opportunity to coach a few players the Buckeyes are currently recruiting. Five-star guard Scottie Barnes and five-star guard Nimari Burnett are among those invited to the training camp.
