Logan Stieber took a giant step into being the guy fans will remember as the greatest wrestler in Ohio State's long history Saturday night.

With a dominating 10-1 major victory over Virginia Tech's Devin Carter in the 141-pound NCAA championship, Steiber became the first three-time national champion in school history. The match was never really in doubt as Stieber scored a takedown 30 seconds in and then controlled Carter to take a 2-0 lead into the second period. Stieber tacked on 3 more points in the second period, before icing things with five more in the third.

This third title will sit nicely with Stieber's other two crowns, both at the 133-pound weight class in 2012 and 2013. The redshirt junior concludes the season 30-1 and has won every Big Ten and NCAA Championship tournament in which he's wrestled.

“He's a professional. You come across kids like this very rarely – never,” Tom Ryan, the man with the luxury of coaching Stieber, had to say about his star.

Stieber, already a four-time Ohio state high school wrestling champion, is now set up to become just the fourth wrestler to capture four NCAA titles next season.
