Notre Dame Freshman Defensive Tackle Jerry Tilllery to Miss Fiesta Bowl After Violation of Team Rules

Notre Dame, already down its top two cornerbacks and a starting safety, will miss another contributing defender against Ohio State.

Hours before its kickoff against the Buckeyes, the Irish announced the suspension of freshman defensive tackle Jerry Tillery for the ominously vague "violation of team rules."

The Irish voted Tillery, a 2015 four-star recruit out of Louisiana, "defensive newcomer of the year" after a campaign in which the 6'6" 300-pounder lodged 12 tackles.

Ezekiel Elliott, meanwhile, just asked for his check.
