We were Penn State yesterday, and it was not a real swell time as the Nittany Lions got steamrolled by Michigan State, 55-16.

For Penn State, its offense was as pedestrian as to be expected, which is odd to say considering QB Christian Hackenberg was once considered a surefire NFL first-rounder and RB Saquon Barkley is one of the Big Ten's brightest young stars.

The Nittany Lions finished the regular season with the nation's No. 105 offense (No. 100 in rushing and No. 79 in passing). James Franklin is responding by firing his offensive coordinator.

We'll see if this leads to results in Happy Valley, but to me this looks like replacing the kitchen sink of a condemned house.
