BlogPoll Top 25: September 24

By David Sokol on September 24, 2012 at 12:00p

Another week is in the books and another ballot has been cast by Eleven Warriors for the SB Nation BlogPoll.

Oh Michigan, Oh Michigan! Where art thou?

Nowhere. That's what happens when you lose two games early and for those thinking the Wolverines still had a shot to make it to the BCS title game, you can forget it.

In addition to Michigan, there was plenty of movement across the board.

Once again, you can also check out our ballot, as well as all of the others, on the BlogPoll site while also following on Twitter at @BlogPollTop25.

1 Yawn...Alabama rocked FAU, 40-7, and welcome a not so great Ole Miss team next Saturday. --
2 In a primetime matchup, the Seminoles showed that they are indeed a BCS title contender handling a very solid Clemson team at home. FSU showed that they are worthy of a top-2 ranking. 1
3 Quack, Quack, look who's back in the top 3 again. Oregon owned Arizona, 49-0, in what was nothing less than a laugher. 1
4 LSU played a shaky Auburn squad very closely. The stout Tiger defense kept them ahead, leading to an eventual 12-10 win. 2
5 The Dawgs look like a SEC title contender, dominating Vandy at home, 48-3. If you beat any in-conference foe 48-3, it only means good things. 1
6 K-State may have had the upset of the day, winning in Norman, 24-19, for their first win at Oklahoma since 1997. Coach Bill Snyder has his team looking good in the Big 12. 10
7 Did Missouri make a mistake joining the SEC? South Carolina had no issues with Mizzou, winning 31-10. --
8 Stanford has the week off and enjoyed their win over USC from the previous week. 1
9 West Virginia glided to a win over Maryland. It was never a blowout, but Maryland never had a chance. Former Ohio State target, WR Stefon Diggs, did look great with two long TD catches. 1
10 The Irish look like they're for real, beating both Michigan Big Ten schools in back-to-back weekends. The Irish play Miami-FL before hosting #8 Stanford. 2
11 The Gators were not touched by Kentucky. Then again, if last year's basketball team strapped on some helmets, they'd probably beat their school's football team.  3
12 USC had no issues with California like that one team we all know *cough* Ohio State *cough*, winning 27-9. 1
13 Texas put up 66 points against SEC bottom feeder Ole Miss. The Longhorns look like they could be back. We'll see in two weeks against West Virginia. 2
14 Another high ranking blown early in the year, this time to K-State at home. 9
15 The Buckeyes have so many question marks, the Riddler should replace Brutus as Ohio State's mascot. Braxton Miller continues to carry the team on his back and makes big plays when the staff takes off his leash and lets him run around. Miller could realistically be in the Heisman race if he keeps these numbers up. 2
16 TCU handled Virginia at home. Nothing else to report here. 1
17 In a great game at Florida State, Tajh Boyd looked good again, but his efforts were not enough to beat the Seminoles. 7
18 In an interesting year for the Pac-12, Oregon State seems to be sticking around early, beating UCLA on the road. --
19 The Pride of the Big East had some issues against Florida International, but what top-25 team isn't having issues against scrubs these days (exclude Alabama, Florida State, and Oregon). 2
20 The other MSU beat Southern Alabama, 30-10. Yeah, it was Southern Alabama and there are no other good teams to rank in the top-25. 3
21 A Big Ten team blew out an inferior program?! Finally! Nebraska rocked Idaho State, 73-7, en route to ISU's 34th straight loss. Ouch. 3
22 Another Big Ten struggler: MSU was down 7-3 at the half before outscoring Eastern Michigan, 20-0, in the second half to win, 23-7. 4
23 Northwestern enters conference play undefeated and in this top-25 (right outside the AP). They welcome Indiana to Evanston this weekend. --
24 SEC, SEC! Well, Arkansas, you just got beat by the Big East. Rutgers cruised to a 35-26 victory in Fayetteville and enters the top-25. --
25 Boise St. continues to win, even if it's by one point over BYU. Yeah, BSU won, 7-6, and plays New Mexico next Saturday. --
Dropouts: Michigan Wolverines, UCLA Bruins, Arizona Wildcats
