BlogPoll Ballot: Week 4

By Jason Priestas on September 24, 2007 at 12:00p

The top eight in our ballot were unchanged over last week. We're fighting every homer instinct inside of ourselves not to bump Ohio State over West Virginia and Cal, but all of this will play itself. Cal has to visit Oregon this weekend in what's sure to be an insane environment and other ranked teams will face a quality opponent either this weekend (WVU @ USF) or the following.

Newcomers this week are Georgia (#19), the "U" (#24) and Mark Dantonio's Spartans (#25), while Louisville, Arkansas and Nebraska fall out. It's rare that a team drops after a victory, but that Nebraska defense looks to be pretty terrible.

As always, you can check the ballots of every voter and the final version is due Wednesday morning, so get your thoughts in by Tuesday night if you think we got it wrong.

The OBC's smile after the LSU fake field goal was priceless. Tigers get to feast on Tulane before Florida shows up. --
Washington State had no chance, but it will be interesting to see what Locker can do against them this weekend. --
Sooners hung 62 on Tulsa, but at least Bradford finally threw his first interception. --
Relative scare against Ole Miss, but a win is a win. Tebow's 166 on the ground is pretty scary. --
The Greatest Show on Turf rolls on, but Friday night at suddenly dangerous South Florida could be a stumbling point. --
Did to Arizona what the Bucks did to Northwestern. HUGE game at Autzen this weekend. --
Enough injuries already, but is this a more complete team than last season? --
Beat a Rice team like you're supposed to beat a Rice team. In two weeks, Daddy Stoops comes to visit. --
Dixon is still putting up monster numbers. Did I mention they play Cal this weekend? 4
Almost.. lost to a team.. that lost to Iowa State.. at home. --
Had a bye on Saturday. Next up: facing off against a pretty craptacular Maryland squad. --
If Matt Ryan keeps lighting it up in that media market, he'll be a Heisman force. 3
Took care of business against Illinois State and welcome Nebraska to town this weekend. 4
Spiller finally got it going. Bowden's boys Travel to Georgia Tech this weekend. 4
Nice win against Bill & Mary. UNC this weekend and then off to Death Valley. 1
11W bandwagon faves beat UNC down and welcome the Mountaineers Friday night. 3
Who'd have guessed that Rich Brooks would be off to a better SEC start than Bear Saban? 7
The OBC learned a trick or too, but the talent level disparity was the ultimate arbiter against LSU. 6
Richt hands Saban his first loss in a thriller. Dawgs welcome Ole Miss this weekend. NR
Now we're to believe that Michigan is good all of a sudden? 11
This team is still impossible to get a good reading on. Partly because I don't stay up until 4AM on Saturday nights.. 1
Spanked Marshall and have averaged 45 points per game against better competition than most of the big-name schools have played. 3
Bear Saban no longer able to walk on water, but he can still turn water into Gatorade. Another test of faith awaits in Tallahasee this weekend. 9
Are the Canes back or not? At any rate, it's fun to vote for them -- the NCAA needs its heel. NR
It's true they did surrender the Irish's first touchdown, but this team is light-years better with Dantonio at the helm. NR

DROPPED OUT: Louisville (#20), Arkansas (#21), Nebraska (#23)
