I think we still have a good shot at the 1 seed.  Admittedly, the committee is inconsistent and impossible to predict, but it does generally seem like they tend to reward narratives and story lines.  We haven't really been tested before this game, and I imagine that the narrative of "the most complete team," in the committee's eyes, being tested for the first time against a team they're playing for the second time, and withstanding the challenge will play well.

No question, we’re the best team in the country.  I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen a Buckeyes team so dominant in every phase of the game.

It wasn’t just the media.  I remember seeing quite a few posters on the game threads criticizing Haskins anytime he threw an incompletion and howling for Tate Martell to replace him.  Haskins got shit on and disregarded all year because our entire program was a mess this season.  Funny thing given that he was literally the only person in the entire program, player or coach, who actually demonstrated consistent excellence all year long.

No way they would have left out a 13-0 conference champ.  If they had 4 unbeaten schools from Power 5 conferences they would have thanked the football gods.  Literally no debate, no controversy.  No, getting manhandled by an ultimately garbage team sealed our fate.  Moreover, it was our third blow out loss in as many years.  We can't keep losing this way and not expect it to haunt us.

Both last year and this year the schedule wasn't the issue.  This issue was that we lost to bad Big 10 teams by a boatload of points.  If we don't lose to Iowa last year, or Purdue this year we're in.  Hell, if we lost those games on last second FGs or in double OT, we're in.  What are we going to do?  Not play a Big Ten schedule?  No, scheduling's not the issue, the issue is getting blown off the field by shit teams because of losing focus.

If we went to automatic bids, their "right" to be there would be winning their conference.  Everyone seems to be confused by this BS search for "the best four teams."  Football is not a sport where the "best team" wins the championship each year.  If you want the "best" team to win you have to play series in the playoffs.  No one thinks that those NY Giants teams that beat the Patriots were the "best" team in the NFL.  Teams need to know what they have to do in order to get into the post season.  Win and your in.  Lose and your not.  It's fair and clear.
