Right? I'm sure OU's offense has complexity to it, but I'd say MANY high-powered college offenses aren't that difficult to grasp especially for the QB. Read 1 or 2 defenders and make the right decision. Even OSU's offense I'd say was more complicated for the WR's than Haskins.

College offensive coaches have done an amazing job scheming open WRs

I get your point and it makes a bit of sense. But like you said, literally anyone can be coached up to just coast through the interviews, why not just do that then? Plus that is one long-con to be shitty on the whiteboard just because you don't give a shit.

Agree with High Street here. I love Baker's level of douchebaggery. It's awesome, I wish the Bengals didn't have the complete opposite of that haha.

I have no doubt that Kyler is extremely entitled. If I remember correctly, he would get asked alot when was the last time you lost a game (previous to losing to Texas) and it was alway some shitty answer like "Well my first game as a freshman in HS, I didn't start and we lost and after that I played and we won 4 straight state titles." Or something to that.

Something just seems off. Also, how the hell is an NFL team going to build an offense for that? He won't ever be under center and his backup qb has to have at least a majority of his athleticism which is going to be hard to find.

I agree with this statement.

Part of me also wonders just how good of a MLB player he would have been/could have been anyway. From what I remember watching him, he couldn't hit a slider to save his life. So he becomes what? A slightly better Billy Hamilton? I know he was a top 10 pick, but I just never really saw it.

I think Metcalf is fine, I agree he shouldn't be a top 10 pick, but as noted by others, the lack of college stats don't really bother me. He played with another 1st round pick (AJ Brown, who I think is better anyway) and 2 other guys who might be drafted (WR/TE) and a very shitty QB even after Shea left.

But it is CRAZY that his shuttle time is SLOWER than his 40 time. It's 10 less yards, no way in hell it should be slower. Almost as insane as Rapoport and others thinking 1.6% body fat is a real thing.

Honestly I could see that situation play out. I doubt it would happen if he was the number one overall pick, but say like somewhere between 6-10. Get that big signing bonus, then bolt for baseball. Obviously there would be legal ramifications that I know nothing about, but a lot of this is starting to smell like a dad trying to use his son to get as much money as possible.

And good adjective with aloof, I think that describes him very well.

More so than being terrible at interviewing when he isn't being hand-fed answers by Dad, I'm REALLY interested if him being bad at the board work is a thing.

Man oh man, Buckeyes showed out this weekend. Despite what Peter Schrager wants you to believe, Drew Lock was not anywhere close to Haskins throwing the ball. Really don't know what he was watching but he's a moron anyway so there's that.

Metcalf is a damn moose, what a freak. Someone needs to change careers to olympic sprinter though because good god were those change of direction drills bad. Crazy thing is, he's still going top 10-15 (seems like a very good bet to be a Jet, Raider, or Dolphin just because).

And more importantly, how in the hell is Kyler getting this much hype? Yes, he is a great player but number 1 overall? Do people remember what happened against Alabama before Alabama was up 28-0 and decided to just chill? He was SHUT DOWN. Also, in what world is Josh Rosen better than Haskins? Maybe I'm looking at this in Buckeye-colored glasses but Rosen is god awful and has been god awful outside of his first year at UCLA.

This is stupid. Probably an unpopular opinion but I wonder if ESPN was getting ready to let him go from the MNF job and he's saving face.

Also, if I'm a Cowboys fan, I'd rather take a shot on drafting an athletic TE (think this is pretty deep this year) or letting Jarwin continue to develop or shit even finally let Gaithers get the shot he should.

But nope, instead Witten needs another glory year.

I don't doubt that Fleck is a bit of a douche with all his Row the Boat stuff and sprinting down the sidelines, but it sounds more like Kill is just upset at how things went down when his buddy got let go after going 9-4. Pretty sure there was some Title IX stuff going down that got players suspended and then the AD kinda blasted the staff and then brought in Fleck.

Didn't Fleck coach under Kill at some point? I got all of my directional northern schools mixed up.

The ghost of Mark Richt still looms haha. But to play devil's advocate...we basically did the same thing with JTB over Haskins as they did with Fromm. The argument being that Haskins wasn't as highly rated as Fields, but at the same time, Fromm is better than JTB (blasphemy I know and I apologize but it's the truth)

Comment 16 Jan 2019

I will deem him better than Hurts. Hurts is a game manager on a stupidly talented team that would have lost their championship game if Hurts wasn't pulled in the 2nd half.

That's the same argument I heard from the JTB crowd when Haskins should have been starting 2 years ago.

Comment 16 Jan 2019

I'm with the one free transfer crowd. Sure, tie it into their GPA so you don't run into the one and done issue of college bball of players just not giving a shit about school when they know they are gone.

Comment 16 Jan 2019

Yep, as I said earlier, I don't recall any Fields/Ohio State articles which is weird considering Fields is much much better than Hurts.

Comment 16 Jan 2019

Lol at the ESPN articles talking about how Hurts makes OU a playoff contender...first of all, I'd say they were already a contender. Secondly, where are the Fields/Ohio State articles considering Fields is head and shoulders above Hurts as a QB and fits into the Day System much better than Hurts fits Lincoln's system.
