I can’t believe you mentioned finals santa! Will is a friend from high school and is honestly one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. We used to call him Santa Flaws in high school, so I guess he really embraced that coming into college lol. Finals are literally one of the worst times of year, and so people who sacrifice their own study time for the benefit of others are true champs.

21 myself and surprised as well. Only loss I can even remember has a massive asterisk next to it. My parents speak of the horrors of the 90s and the indignities of being kicked and spit on as they left Ann Arbor after yet another defeat. I don’t have any of the first hand experience to hate Michigan, but I’ll be damned if I don’t hate them in my own right anyways.

This is all so crazy and yet I can't help but worry about this all being smoke and mirrors somehow. I know its not, but my heart can't forget the pain of 2017 and 2018. This is the type of game that shows what this team is made of. Despite some ineptitude from TTUN, I still expect our three toughest games lie ahead. 31-17 OSU is my expectation but I can't help but worry that Wisconsin will be mad as hell tomorrow.

I mean they just shutout Sparty... That wasn’t something we were able to manage... I get that Sparty has come back to earth a bit after such a bad loss to us, but I’m quite nervous about the Wisconsin game now. I like our odds of beating them, but I can't imagine our odds of beating them twice (a second time in Indianapolis) are much better than 50%. Wisconsin is as dominant on both sides of the ball as anyone.

Agreed. There was a definite cloud hanging over last years team. I'll be perfectly honest. I loved Urban. Still do. But when he resigned it was almost like a weight was lifted. Like a feeling that we could finally move past the scandals. But now we have so much awful stuff coming up about this former trainer for wrestling...

You guys are too hard on little Jimmy. These are exactly the kinds of games that he was hired for. The games that Michigan actually has a chance of winning. Iowa will be a good bye to help them prepare for their next true opponent: the mighty juggernaut that is Illinois.

What I've never understood is how this is so controversial. These kids wreck their minds and bodies for our entertainment, all while the vast majority of them never come close to the NFL and a paycheck. As long as college football rakes in billions of dollars in profit, it is entirely unethical to withold the money from the people who make it.

If amaturism or "buying" recruits is a concern it's not that hard to put in regulations to prevent that. Like giving players a basic stipend and limiting how much they can be paid (i.e. Alabama can only pay players up to $10k a semester). Name and likeness is easy to solve also as you can just have the money go into a fund of sorts for after they graduate (or go towards the 10k limit a semester if the school is broke). Alabama, OSU, Georgia, Clemson all already have a stranglehold on top recruits, paying players isn't going to change that. And at the end of the day, players are already being paid so you might as well regulate it.

I know this is probably not a popular opinion but its a hill I'm willing to die on. We ask so much of these players, and they ask for so little in return. Pay the damn players.

All I have to say is wow... Coming into this game I was slightly scared that maybe this new defense was just smoke and mirrors, that they weren’t the real deal, but boy was I wrong. This defense is nothing short of playoff caliber. My score prediction was 42-21 and I am so glad to be off by so much.

At first glance I was really worried about having such a back heavy schedule, particularly with Penn State and TTUN back to back. But now Im wondering if this helps us in some weird way. In 2017 we were coming off the annual buzzer beater at Penn State and had gotten through the meat of the schedule. And 2018 we were a 75% favorite to win out before Purdue.
