As a student at osu, I’ve got a couple connebcyions w a couple players on the defensive side of the ball. I’m not gonna mention names obviously, but if Fields didn’t transfer here they all genuinely thought Baldwin would beat Martell in any sort of QB competition. That speaks volumes to how good Baldwin has been and how Tate has stagnated

It’s unfortunate, but I doubt this kid will really make much of an impact catching the ball here. Seems like one of those kids we just underutilize and then blows up in the NFL. This guy is an amazing talent, and we should 100% be using him as a pass catcher. Every offseason the use of our TE is debated, and everyone asks when they will be implemented more in the playbook. I hope Day actually changes something, but for right now I wouldn’t expect much. It sucks because other dominant schools use their freak tight end as a target hog, but for some reason we refuse to implement any sort of variation including it.

And where is DJ leaning towards going? Clemson, of fucking course. Watson to Lawrence to DJ has to be the greatest trio of QB’s in succession

Trevor Lawrence was not start gonna over Jake Fromm, no one was. Kirby Smart was in love with Fromm and believed he was the type of game manager they needed to go back to the national championship. The year before he had led them to 3 points within a national championship. Hard taking that guy off the field, especially when his strengths are having an insane grip of the playbook, as well as support of the team

It’s human nature brother. I know it’s tough seeing that happen to a guy, but I remind myself I am a Ohio State fan. I want what’s best for the team, and I trust Ryan Day to make that call accordingly. We’re the fans! No need to feel like that. Let’s just sit back and let awesome players do their thing (Martell, Fields, Baldwin)

Good insight, didn’t really think about it that way before. After seeing all the wide receivers and even defensive players retweet and like Justin’s transfer message it seems like the general consensus is he is the missing piece that can take OSU to that next level
