I agree with you. However I believe Charlie and Day worked together at Florida when he wS a GA under Meyer there. I would assume Day has kept in contact with him.

I disagree. Even if they keep recruits this year. Beck will not develop their QBs and long term they suffer. Just as we did when he was out Off coordinator/QB coach

I don’t want Drayton. I think a name like DeMarco Murray who has the proven NFL track record would be an interesting hire.

AE if comfort, relationships and proximity to home is important why not University if Arizona. It’s in his back yard and I thought I read that he was extremely close with DeMarco Murray. Doesn’t look like any one we’ll be leaving Arizona. Seems like if those are all are important to him Arizona would be the choice.

Not too diminish the running back position but just look at what order in the draft wide receivers get drafted as opposed to running back. NFL teams consistently take wide receivers over top running backs. This haul is the equivalent of getting three first round draft picks and taking three wide receivers. And keep in mind we have the #1 tackle in this class as well. The #1 tackle almost always goes top 5. There is usually 1 running back if any drafted in the entire first round. So while I do appreciate 247, if their rankings are supposed to be symbolic of where these kids will get drafted it is not accurate. 247 drastically over values the RB position and puts 5 running backs in the top 32. That will not happen in a draft. THe positions that go in the first round are QBs, WR, OT, DE, CB.  (Also we have the #2 pro style qb if we get stroud). That being said ya I think we are doing just fine.

Ya at this point there is no difference in the coaching or quality of program between University of Texas and University of Arizona. So if the kid doesn’t care about winning, he should just go to University of Arizona.

We need to root for Zach Evans to sign with Bama. If that happens they won’t take Gibbs. Georgia has 2-3 backs before Gibbs. So if Evans goes to bama it’ll be between us and Ga Tech and I like our chances against them.

I get it’s all about relationships however if we can get him on campus and convince him to wait till February to sign we may have a chance. That two months we will be able to develop a relationship with him and we will most likely play Clemson in the playoffs. If we can beat Clemson maybe it’s enough to push him back to the good guys.

I’m have a friend who is a Georgia fan and follows their recruiting. He is saying option A for running back 2 in their class is Evans if they don’t land Evans this kid is their backup plan.

Right now Bama is chasing larger fish as well and Gibbs offer is non commitable. I think the larger SEC schools may pass on him and he could fall right into our lap.

I’m not saying never with Knighton but I would much rather have Gibbs. I say we only take Knighton if Gibbs goes elsewhere. Gibbs is having the better senior year, and it’s not even close. Knighton is having a pretty pitiful senior campaign.

Comment 05 Nov 2019

Looks like Knighton will try to visit for the Penn State game and he spoke to Alford last night

Does anyone know why we wouldn’t go after Knighton after he spurned us but would go back after Robinson? Seems like both of them did the exact same thing? So why the double standard?
