It makes no sense at this point in his career Musa Jallow can not hit an open shot. I bet coach Holt is kicking himself for starting Jallow last November against Gonzaga. I really think that hurt OSU later on when they faced Gonzaga again in the NCAA Tournament.

I have no doubt in my mind OSU would have had a better chance to win without the 15 point padding by Gonzaga.  Coupled with the free throw shooting attempts difference of 31 for Gonzaga and only 16 for OSU.  Not to mention the sort of home field advantage wrapped around questionable officiating throughout the two games.  OSU basically played both games with virtually no inside presence due to fouls and depth.   With that said some of the offensive plays called at the beginning of the Gonzaga game by the Bucks left a lot to be desired.  But you can't question a COY or you will get called during one of his post game interviews.

What this team needed all season long was a pass first playmaking point guard.  This was never more evident than in this final game of this season. Just think a traditional point guard that would have calmed the team down and assisted with some much need baskets at the start of the game. Imagine a willing point guard to take the pressure off of the scorers allowing them get to open spaces to fire off their shots after a well placed pass.  Hopefully one will be arriving next season.  I still can't figure out why Tate continued to make the same silly fouls he made as a freshman.  Him fouling out for the third game in a row was huge. The 15 point deficit at the beginning of the game was just as big.  You can't miss five point blank layups and in this type of game.  I was proud of how they fought back the entire game.  I will miss seeing KDB, Tate, Kam and Andrew.  It's hard to win when the opposing team gets 31 free throw attempts and you only get 16, meanwhile their bench (28) outscores your bench (5) by such a large margin, along with a rebound total in the other teams favor. TOSU should have never been in this game based on the onslaught at beginning of the first few minutes of this game.  The bucks fought back and took the lead briefly with some hard nose defense and timely scoring. Heck of a season.

Seems like Coach Holtman has an issue with late in game adjustments. OSU never should have had Andrew in the game in the last minute. He rarely played down the stretch in previous games when the game score was close. Andrew should have went to coach and took himself out of the game. That what a smart unselfish player would have done. Was Andrew going to do to stop Carr from making a play? No. CJ knew this and that's why he was trying help Andrew. Which made CJ not see his man cutting down the lane for the dunk. Not only that but one of the YES MAN assistant coaches should have questioned why are we saving Tate here on the bench? Too many coaching missteps to pull this one out. There is no trust in teammates. KBD continues to draw double team and triple team coverage he but refuses to find the open man. The concept of the drive and dish never seems to be an option for OSU, meanwhile PSU used this to beat OSU three straight times within weeks. The low post feed to Wesson becomes a blackhole and a pass out to open shooter and repost is never an option. But other teams use this against OSU all the time. Find the open man. This was just bad coaching. Holtman is going to have many sleeplessness nights over this game. Why are there so many issues with closely contested games? COY?

For some reason in this game the Bucks returned to last year's team form. Selfishness, bad free throw shooting, poor coaching adjustments, lack of ball movement. We should have been in control from start to finish. PSU was down one starter. OSU never took advantage of this missing piece. SMH. COY???

Plain and simple Coach Holtman, the B1G Coach Of The Year got Outcoached and Exposed again (third time by PSU). I have said this all year long when up by 10-15 points some of these so called genius coaches can do no wrong. But when the game gets under two minutes and the score is close, suddenly adjustments aren't made along with poor decisions. The real deal coaches show their knowledge of the game. After losing twice to PSU no adjustments were made and they were without their big man to boot. Meanwhile OSU has the COY, POY, one of the Top Freshmen, and a Second Team All B1G player. They still can't figure it out or coach it out. This was an epic fail. Lack of ball movement, nothing out of the last time out. What was Andrew D doing out there at crunch time on D? Everyone at MSG knew KBD was going to get the ball in the waning moments. How about using him as a decoy? Send him to the bucket to rebound a possible miss with his length and put back ability. It worked at Purdue. Go Bucks?

Man that picture with this article says a lot. I wonder if he's thinking " I probably shouldn't have wasted that timeout on the inbound play,, we may need it later in the game" or " Another offensive charge, when will I learned?" Or my favorite " I think I should shoot this three point shot, I'M OPEN. COME MAN. ENOUGH WITH THE FOULS AND SHOTS OUTSIDE OF TWO FEET OF THE BASKET!

Two things that are hard to predict the weather and sports results. If you don't believe it just ask those fine folks in the Big Easy who were preparing for their playoff game against the Eagles this weekend. Everyone of those hotshot sport analysis had the Buckeyes looking up from the bottom of the B1G standings. They did no research at all, just repeating the same tired information: the Buckeyes are in rebuilding mode, the Buckeye have no depth, they need to hit the reset button, maybe four or six wins, give the new coach a few years to get things right.....blab....blab. I love how the Buckeyes are making fools out all the supposed knowledgeable forcasters. It was sickening listening to Seth Davis with his homer like man-crush for Northwestern and his fellow Duke alumni Coach Collins. I thought Seth Davis was going to wet his pants when NW started the game with a six point lead.

Just like I mentioned earlier teams are now clamping down on #33 KBD.  It's too bad #33 KBD took some ill advised shots in this game.  Looks like he was just "Jacking For Beats" translation: Shooting to maintain his numbers without thinking about the team first mantra.  I like how the team overcame that obstacle and spread the shots attempts around.  Although I still cringe every time #1 Tate attempts any shot more than three feet from the rim.   Why doesn't he realize he is not a long distance shooter? Especially after the Bucks wins the tap.  The ball somehow lands in his hands and clank (Brick City).  The opposing team gets the rebound and winning the opening tap is negated, why?  Come on #3 Jackson what's with the Air Balls?  Everybody wants to shoot the trey ball but nobody wants to perfect the trey ball or midrange game.  #15 Williams knocks down two shots in a row, and never get another pass for a shot in the entire second half.  #0 Potter hit consecutive shot and is fouled, making his free throws and is placed on the bench with Williams in the second half.   Coach you just helped the other team. From this point on in the second half its a Chuck A Brick-Fest by the Bucks.  While this is happening Northwestern is closing the gap making the game closer than it should have been.  The Bucks then make bonehead play after bonehead play while inbounding the ball in the waning minutes of the game .  We have just given the college basketball nation the keys to our own demise.   Pressure the ball handler and force KDB into an awkward  position of jacking up contested shots.  As I stated earlier #33 KDB does not perform well in Illinois when has a large contingent of family members and friends on hand to watch him play.  Who knows why this is the case.   It's a historical fact, lets be happy the Illini come to the Schott.   How come it seems like OSU has to blow the other team out (be up by 15-20 points) to get the victory because our late game time management is terrible.  Come on coach it's called coaching!  The Bucks are more than lucky to come out on top in this game.   But remember sometimes when you win you lose and when you lose you win.  Just a thought. GO BUCKS!

P.S. Can someone teach the big men how to make a hook shot?

I like the way KBD is playing at this point, but is it not time to spread the ball around on offense? Currently KBD is taking about 18-21 shots per game. Do we need a backup plan for teams that attempt to corral, double or triple team KBD? In other words " Is it time to share the wealth"? To be ready is to be prepared! Later in the season will it be this easy?

This is a very interesting and important game for the Bucks. A few things come to mind. A win will equal last years OSU's conference win total. This game is also sort of a homecoming game for KBD. Historically he has either not played or not played very well when facing NW on the road. I find it strange no one has bothered to mention this fact. I'm sure KBD will have a large contingent of local fans rooting for him. Hopefully he and the rest of the team will remain focused, and complete the task at hand. The Bucks need to crush the NW Wildcats soundly. This will be payback for the loss they handed the Buckeyes last year in Columbus. Go Bucks!

Is Musa still in high school mode?  I think he should have stayed in high school for his senior year.  Is it me or does he look a little lost and confused at times?  I thing bringing him in off the bench once the game has gotten into some kind of flow would be better for his development.  Wouldn't this make more sense and help him in the long run?   The bench seems to bring out the best in players once they have a chance to view the game from a different perspective.  Thoughts?

Why does the offensive always seem to stagnate in the beginning of the game and coming out of halftime?

Why does the 2-3 zone defense work so well when other teams employ this tactic against the buckeyes?  The 2-3 zone or any zone defense somehow shuts the buckeyes offense down, why are there no plays ran to get an open shot?

The buckeyes have a few capable shooters but more often then not when the opposition is deploying a zone defense the ball always finds it way into the hand of the worst shooters on the team who has no problem launching a ill-fated attempt, why is not addressed?

The FREE THROW shooting percentage is still not where it should be what is being done about the low team FT percentage?

Two years ago the buckeyes had a player who led the B1G in three point shooting.  I believe that player is still on the team.  Why is this option not being fully utilized?  Should there not be plays drawn up to free up a decent three point shooter?

I have watched several games and it seem no one is clear on how to set a solid pick.  Why is this not stressed or fully reviewed in practice?  If this is the case, somehow the bucks continue to get called for offensive fouls for setting picks, why?

Can someone tell KBD the lights are on and he is being watched.   He has totally disappeared in this game.  Where is all that potential everyone keeps talking about, where is the Seven Foot Wing Span? It's now or never.  No more cupcake to feast on at this point.  Tate continues to get Threes drilled in his face.  Perimeter defense is null and void!   Tate's defense away from the basket is being exposed.  The other team has picked up on this and is dragging him away from the basket.   WOW two more threes drilled in his eye hole.  Time out the rout is on.

I like Tate's effort but he makes too many bonehead plays and dumb fouls, this should not be happening in his senior year.   Still only hits half to his free throws if that many.  He gives effort but this sometimes leads to foul trouble and missed opportunities for him at the basket.  I guess that's why he sitting on the bench.   Tate continues to have the look of disbelief whenever he is called for one of those ill advised fouls.  Guys what's up with the turnovers?  Slow it down and run the offense.
