Are we totally the Martell transfer wasnt coming either way ???... Wouldnt seem that way, id think he'd put his name in the portal before January 8-10 (Name offically went in the 10th, OSU had 48 hours to put his name in the portal after being notified)... But, it has been rumored he almost transferred other times...

Current School = New School... The NCAA says the sit year is for academics and adjustment at the new school... Some exemptions have been discussed about Head Coaching changes and Academic Exemptions (GPA Threshold)... Imagine thats the route Martell takes... Head Coaching change or something like that...

They roll out the red carpet for everyone being recruited... Only real difference is, Fields already announced he was coming here... Id be shocked if Fields was guaranteed a starting spot, no one is 100% sure he will be eligible... If he is eligible, I do think he will start... I think the offense has the most potential with him under center... Doesnt mean we cant win with Martell or Baldwin, just means the offense will be able to do more with Fields...

How do you KNOW what he wants ???... How do you KNOW, thats why he is transferring ???... Fields hasnt said anything, its purely speculation... Do you know why the NCAA makes you wait a year ???... Care to take a guess ???... Ill help you out, its for academic purposes... The NCAA thinks it helps you adjust to your new school and allows you to focus of academics... If im a 3.0-4.0+ student athlete and I transfer, why do I need a year to focus on academics ???... By all accounts, Fields is a great student, who had Ivy League offers... If his academics are in order, he will be granted immediate eligibility... The NCAA was already considering an academic exception, before Fields transferred...

Been posting this a lot of places, but, it hasnt really caught on... The wait year is for academic purposes... I found this in an article from May... "Some of the decision-makers in the NCAA’s big bureaucracy are pushing to allow players who reach a GPA benchmark to transfer without having to sit. The “academic exception,” as the NCAA calls it, would take effect in 2019-20. The NCAA has also kicked around an exception for players whose head coaches leave for other jobs. Neither alteration would fundamentally change college sports. The academic exception would shift a small bit of power from coaches to players. It might lead to an increase in roster turnover. But teams are still bound by NCAA scholarship limits, and many (especially in major football and basketball) are now offering predominantly four-year scholarship deals that limit their flexibility to get into outright free agency." Id guess most of the kids who were granted waivers, had their academics in order... Fields had Ivy League offers and is by all accounts, a good student... If his academics are in order, I think it will go a long way towards getting the waiver (If its even necessary at that point... Not sure if the academic exception is still being considered or not, but, it makes sense)..

NCAA says the wait year is for academic purposes... They were considering an academic exception for the 19-20 season... Think he had offers from Ivy league schools, so, he is probably a good student... If his academics are in order, combined with the racial incident, think he absolutely gets the waiver...

This... Also, youre cooking the beef to a temperature rather than a color... I bet they pulled these prime ribs at an internal temp of 135 or so, which, would be medium well... When you cook beef low and slow, the proteins dont denature as quickly... You can cook to a medium well temperature and still have it look medium rare...

According to the NCAA, the wait year is for academics... The year not playing allows you to adjust to your new school and focus on academics... I read an article from May, it said the NCAA was considering an academic exception (GPA threshold), that would go into effect for the 19-20 season... If Fields academics are in order, I think he gets the waiver...

Read an older (March of 2018) article that said, the NCAA was considering waiving the wait year for kids who had good enough GPAs. It said it was being considered for the 19-20 season... If Fields has good enough grades (If its something they are considering, maybe Fields doesnt qualify today, but, they grant the waiver because the rule is coming soon), combined with the incident earlier this year, I think he gets immediate eligibility...

I dont think Martell is graduating in 2 years... I do think with the new transfer rules and coaching change, he could get immediately eligibility elsewhere, if he wanted...

This has been covered, but... Fields and Haskins both use Quincy Avery (QB coach in Atlanta)... They have some type of relationship... I imagine Fields and Haskins have communicated... The fact the Fields is considering us, should be a sign that Haskins is leaving... Just because its not public, doesnt mean the decision hasnt been made...
