From the article above:
“However, they said that the statement that Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel submitted to the NCAA as part of the case documentation – Tech’s compliance department showed Myles a copy of it, according to the parents – stated that he had instead left Michigan for a fresh start and for playing time.”
Michigan DOES get to comment to the NCAA on these issues. That is how it works. And now two different players are saying they have issue with the way Michigan (which, come on, it’s Harbaugh) handled their requests.
Show me a single other case in the country where this has happened. It’s now happened twice at UM.
What does it matter that another kid got his waiver approved?
So yes, Michigan/Harbaugh gets to submit a statement to the NCAA for each request.
That might not make any difference to the NCAA. But regardless of the NCAAs decision, Harbaugh and Michigan decided to not support them in spite of the fact that Harbaugh loves to talk about how progressive he is on this issue.
