PSU two huge holes.

1: Clifford is inaccurate.  An hour ago I thought he was average at best but he's just plain bad as a passer.  He got away with it vs bad teams but its glaring vs even decent defenses.

2: Their secondary is bad.  WR's just running free all over the field.

We will drop at least 50 on these guys

From the article above:

“However, they said that the statement that Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel submitted to the NCAA as part of the case documentation – Tech’s compliance department showed Myles a copy of it, according to the parents – stated that he had instead left Michigan for a fresh start and for playing time.”

Michigan DOES get to comment to the NCAA on these issues. That is how it works. And now two different players are saying they have issue with the way Michigan (which, come on, it’s Harbaugh) handled their requests.

Show me a single other case in the country where this has happened. It’s now happened twice at UM.

What does it matter that another kid got his waiver approved?

So yes, Michigan/Harbaugh gets to submit a statement to the NCAA for each request.

That might not make any difference to the NCAA. But regardless of the NCAAs decision, Harbaugh and Michigan decided to not support them in spite of the fact that Harbaugh loves to talk about how progressive he is on this issue.

Comment 22 Aug 2019

No, the point is that the outcome doesn't matter at all.  Maybe Harbaugh could have helped, maybe not. Maybe nothing he did mattered either way.

The point is he goes around saying "Look at how progressive I am and I am all for the kids. They should get one free transfer no questions asked." But when it comes down to it, he's at best not willing to put in a good word for these two kids and at worst is actively trying to keep them from gaining immediate eligibility.

But you keep bending over backwards to defend that.  Carry on.

Comment 22 Aug 2019

Do you know that he supported Singleton fully? Maybe Singleton's case was much better to begin with? Seems to me that in borderline cases, the full support of UM would weigh heavily enough to tip the scales.

Save the "outrage" bs. You want to throw support behind Harbaugh, cool.  None of these kids are likely to make a difference at any school so I couldn't care less about their eligibility beyond the human aspect of it.  Clearly Harbaugh says one thing, but does another.

Not fully supporting EVERY transfer request is in direct conflict with his public statement that all student athletes should get one free transfer with immediate eligibility.

It's not a hard concept.

Comment 22 Aug 2019

They said they didn't disclose the reason for transfer "publicly", but they disclosed it to the NCAA with doctors statements.  Huge difference.

And there is absolutely nothing keeping Michigan/Harbaugh/UM AD from putting in a good word and throwing their weight behind these kids requests for immediate eligibility.  They clearly do not. Despite whatever Harbaugh says.

If Harbaugh truly believes that all kids should get one transfer with immediate eligibility no questions asked, then what possible reason is there for him to not support these requests fully?

He's a hypocrite.  But more than that he's stupid.  There's nothing good that can come from this for michigan, which is all the reason he should need to do the right thing and fully support these transfer requests for immediate eligibility.

I have a bad feeling about this one. I think there is still a talent gap here but the game is about matchups and intangibles and I think several of those favor PSU.

Our back 7 on defense is as bad as I can remember. We have Jordan Fuller and then a couple “he’s ok” and several “why is he on the field”.

I think our offense SHOULD score a ton on that defense but Happy Valley at night tends to give them an undeserved boost.

So I expect our offense to score less than the talent disparity would dictate. And I expect PSU to more or less torch our back 7. I think if our D pulls off a TCU type performance where they give up a lot but they make a few huge swing plays, we will be fine. But I feel like I’m pinning my hopes on luck there.

42-38 PSU (I hate myself, be easy on the downvotes)

OSU has the worst PR/Crisis management teams I've ever seen.

If Drake was bumbling the conference so bad where was the director of communications or whoever to step to the mic and read a brief "statement of facts"????

Drake is clearly a schmuck, but they screwed that press conference in every way possible.

This is really fascinating to read. Thx for doing all the leg work.

But wouldn't it be more useful to grade each ranking and assign it a numerical value? Since most rank about 300 4 stars u could for instance assign a perfect ranking (i.e. Jedeveon Clowney) a score of 300 (or 3.00, whatever). If a prospect is drafted 10th overall, but the service had him ranked 20th then its 290 points and so on. U get zero for any unranked player that gets drafted.

In this way I think if a particular recruiting service is the only one to even rank a kid and he goes on to be a first rounder, they'd get credit for being the only ones to even rank him at all.

Just a thought.

It doesn't matter what you want to "call" that.  You just have to look at the clip and decide if it needs to be punished.

Almost anywhere in the country would suspend him for the bowl game (see Marcus Hall), except for *ichigan.

At this point its clear that everyone up there are scumbags.  It doesn't matter who the coach is (Carr, Rodriguez, Hoke, Harbaugh). They are nothing but a bunch of shit-talking pu$$ies.  EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR.

"This is what rivalry means. Beat Michigan. Every year. It can never be dark enough."

Oh I agree with all that. The D has been impressive.

My point was more that we don't necessarily need our DTs to make the plays as much as eat blocks to allow our LBs to play clean.

Im probably being overly critical but I just haven't seen much from our OLBs. Not bad, just not great. Again, just nitpicking

Comment 10 Sep 2016

I like what I've seen from Landers and Hill so far.

I know it's silly to be concerned about a defense that's giving up 6.5 pts/game but I'm still concerned about the LB play from everyone besides Raekwon. We need our DTs to eat blocks and make the LBs job easy
