The night before the game is like Christmas Eve to me. The next thing I know in the morning I'm watching Gameday and making a quick last minute run for anything needed for a great day of football. I have to admit I enjoy watching other games and rooting for certain teams to lose almost as much as watching the Buckeyes. So I guess I kind of like getting our win in the books early, so I can relax a bit and everything else is gravy.

The truth is that the time of kickoff will eventually be moved to increase ratings and for the increase in money. So a 3:30 compromise is fine. Not too early for the West coast, extra time for boozing and $$ for food vendors and restaurants, better  for recruits, warmer temperatures, nice late afternoon atmosphere with the lights on, and reasonable time to exit the city safely after the game. 3:30 it shall be. No black uniforms or helmets please, how about scarlet and gray? chrome helmets are OK.

I was at OSU from 93-96. I'm with DJ, no mercy! How about they suck and lose 5+ games a year until the Buckeyes surpass their winning percentage? That's their only claim to fame, "winningest team of all time" blah blah blah. After that 8-4   9-3   10-2   7-5 repeat. Lol. Nothing would be funnier than years of Harbaugh mediocrity and Urban's 10 year Rockne type dominance.

Watching Michigan lose at home on the last play of the game to MSU was worth a national championship.

However, it didn't cost the Buckeyes a NC.  Losing at home with the most talented roster in the country cost them the title.

i think I'm ready for this question since I've been asking it for 25 years. I usually pick 3 games that would have been nice at the time. Maybe the 2007 Florida title game too. That one hurt.

1976 Rose Bowl- for Archie, Woody's soft landing.

1980 Rose Bowl - for coach Bruce

1996 Michigan game - for God's sake and Cooper

So now I can more easily tweet about Nick Saban not being able to win a college football game because he has too many NFL prospects on his team. Wouldn't it be great to get Alabama again in the playoff and then set a record with Buckeyes drafted, especially 1st rounders.

I've never been able to find it but does anyone remember when Tressel had the best comeback to a very insulting question by Colin? His show was in Columbus broadcasting live from a bar called ? Pink Martini ? Not sure about name. Colin asked Tressel about his lack of ability and his staff's ability to coach in The Big Title Games. This must have been after the Florida/LSU Years. Tressel went old school on him and in an unreal and incredible mix between modesty and confidence, as only The Vest could do, came quickly back with something like and I'm paraphrasing: "we have been  very fortunate to have been able to coach in 9 championship games..."etc. BOOM!  He went Youngstown State on him, with the 4 titles and the playoff format an all. It was a thing of beauty, my write up here doesn't do it justice. I'm also about 14 hours too late on this thread. Best comeback to an insulting jab to a top notch coach imaginable.

By the way, Urban wouldn't be doing what he is doing at Ohio State without the foundation Tressel added to the program and the total reversal of the psche of the fan base. The 310 days speech, the 2002 championship, 9-1 vs.TTUN, the always getting better by end of season, BCS wins, consecutive AP TOP 5 finishes, 4 str8 bowl wins. Give me a break! I sat in the toilet bowl in Ann Arbor in 1993 my freshmen year, and in the Shoe in 1996 for The Game, and Nov. 7, 1998 vs.  Sparty.  We cool?

I would like to see Cardale start @ V. tech Labor Day night. Then game 2 for the home opener send out Braxton for the first series to soak up the well deserved cheers from the buckeye faithful. Rotate all three Qbs and experiment with offense and 2 deep throughout non conference games. Then a #1 guy needs to be determined for the BIG season. Tough choices to be made. Go Bucks!

I look at the author's name before I read any article or column without exception.

I can usually guess it's a Ramzy masterpiece just by the title.

I feel better, thank you.

1980s NBA was so different than today's game. Remember the clothesline of Rambis by McHale in the finals? Was it even a flagrant? Did anyone get ejected? Let's get real, the East Conf is weak and The Warriors are lite, with a few streaky 3 point shooters.

You don't need a bunch of hall of famers to beat a bunch of non hall of famers. Magic and Jordan would tear this league up by themselves too. Go Cavs & Go Bucks!

11W and The Hurry Up quenches my thirst for football talk during the long offseason, and I read almost everything written and all the comments. However, I put zero faith in the recruiting services and I lose no sleep over any decision made or action taken by a 17 year old kid. Why? I learned my lesson in February and March 2008 fretting over a hyped quarterback from Pennsylvania. Be careful what you wish for my friends, take a deep breath, and stay in your own lane.

I enjoy TTUN losing football games and the dropping of their beloved "All Time Winningest" statistics more than anything in the world.

I hope Sparty becomes an LSU/Georgia type of program forever and replaces Go Blow as the preeminent program in MI. I hope they win a national championship on one of our off years. Can you imagine the angst in Ann Arbor this would create? Delightful!
