Columbus (via Columbus)

MEMBER SINCE   January 25, 2015

Just one of many who was born and raised in Columbus, and was brought up right. I come from a family who gave my brother the middle name 'Hayes'. I became self aware during the early Cooper years, and consequently the two wins he had against TTUN felt like Christmas, New Year's and Independence Day all rolled into one, and the rest of his seasons were one CF after another.

I was in the 6th grade in January of 2003 and grinned from ear to ear for a week straight after the Miami game; that night is still one of my best memories as a kid. In high school I watched the likes of Troy Smith & Co. rattle off win after win against TTUN, particularly in 2006, when I carried my Tressel bobblehead around with me the whole week before and displayed it on every desk I sat at.

As a young adult, I can now more fully appreciate the 2014 team's accomplishments, and continue to bask in them with everyone else. Especially after attending one game that season, with VT tickets given as a wedding gift to my wife and I. Needless to say, they didn't seem as nice of a present after the fact. She doesn't quite have the same blood, genes, or whatever it is that makes me tick on double time during the football months out of the year, but I'm working on her, I promise.

I'll life my whole life as a Buckeye, and pass it on when the time comes, to the children we hope to have and raise here in Columbus. I was truly blessed to be born here to my parents, and lucky to be even an infinitesimally small part of the institution that is Ohio State.

I was a lurker on Eleven Warriors for the better part of a year, and truly appreciate all those who made this site possible. It's become my go-to news source for anything Ohio state, as well as something of an addiction. I eventually decided that since it's such a great thing, why not be a part of it and create an account? Thus, here I am.

Nothing beats coming back home. Best of luck to both you and IU (except when they play the Buckeyes)

That series turned the momentum of the game around completely. New Orleans was going in to score and put the game away then and there. The rest doesn't happen if the Saints get a fresh set of downs near the endzone instead of a FG.

Of course they can. "Any given night" is how college hoops is so entertaining.

If you are asking if it is probable, then I have to objectively say hell no.

I loved how Marty and Joe could be calling a game, and having a regular guy conversation with each other at the same time. Just two friends watching a baseball game and telling it like they saw it.

Knew this would be coming soon, but I have been listening to Marty on the radio my whole life, and I'm not sure I can envision not hearing him calling the Reds. I know in recent years he hasn't been doing as many games, but you at least knew he'd call the next one. He's had a helluva run and he's a man that I hold in the highest regard, as a person, professional, and entertainer. I will be sure to catch all the games I can on the radio this year.

Thanks for a ton of memories, Marty!

We get Sparty and Penn State at home at least. At Michigan doesn't scare me anymore, but at Nebraska is gonna be a tough one. They came alive in the second half of this season and I think they will come out rolling next season.
