This reminds me more of 1975. Had to play UCLA a second time in the Rose Bowl for the natty. Pete Franklin (the original sports talk host) got on 1100 in Cleveland and said he was betting his First Communion money on Ohio State. Was one of many soul-crushing experiences following OSU last century.
Love hearing the O-H-I-O reverberating around the big house. My favorite holiday song.
Anytime they want to call that hold on Young.
We march the length of the field and score despite Fields looking like hot garbage. That's a good sign.
Feels like we should have a bigger lead. Key will be getting the first score of the second half so they can't get within one score with their usual goofy, improbable TD.
I wish him the best of luck. I do think he could use another year to mature - he often appeared to get rattled when other teams were successful at pressuring him (Penn State), but if he lands with the right team (NY Giants?) that wouldn't be rushed into playing him right away, he'll grow into the most successful OSU QB to ever play in the NFL.
Thanks Urban! Greatest coach in Ohio State history.
Hope the playoff committee and the SEC are using the appropriate protection to prevent the spread of disease.
Did Arnette just make a play or am I hallucinating?
This is a corrective emotional experience for those of us who lived through the Cooper years.
Nice to see these injury time outs every third play, Now...a TD to cap off the drive.
Five drives, six points. I'll take it.
The runs by Haskins will pay dividends later.
I wonder if Bosa's announcement earlier in the week had something to do with the four hour hangover on display last night, or is indicative of a deeper problem with the team. Too many guys with their minds on something other than the game in front of them.
One thing to be said for Saban is that he created a culture in Alabama where no one can become comfortable while underperforming.
Earle first wore that outfit in Dallas for the Cotton Bowl against Texas A&M that followed the 1986 season. At the time, we thought it was Earle's way of honoring Tom Landry. Some of us feared Earle saw himself as the equal of Tom Landry.
Thought I'd share this happy memory from Ryan's playing days at OSU. I got so excited watching this play that I broke two lamps in my man cave.
The play calling aside, the greatest indictment of Beck was the extraordinary regression of BOTH JT and Cardale. Next to bringing in another excellent recruiting class (and help on both sides of the line), finding an offensive coordinator who can better use the talent that's here and a QB coach who can get JT back to where he was last year should be our top priorities.
