I don't think comparing us to 2016 is really that much of an insult.

Talent wise, that's as much as you can wish for in a team. We have to trust the play calling doesn't become as predictable. With Fields and Day, I think the offense can have a lot more options. It really comes down to the scheme.

NFL needs to create some kind of development path from HS to the NFL. I don't think just tossing them into games with NFL veterans will pan out well, but there has to be some way the NFL can train and them and get them experience for 3-5 years before sending them into the draft. All the while these guys get paid.

Problem is the NFL has a free system now so why buck the trend.

I mean I'm on-board with the narrative being pushed against us constantly, but I think this is a bit of a stretch. We have literally no idea if they've ever left someone else out of a series of highlights because we don't run a checklist for every single team when it comes on.

If they lose tonight they may as well start the rebuild over again.

The only consistency they’ve had is this exactly. Unfortunately, I think history outside of the current season has been too much of a factor in “gut feelings” for a few years now.

It's true that not just anybody could put up those numbers, and they are good talents, but I don't think any of those three receivers are absolute world beating game changing players or irreplaceable. I wouldn't put any of them in the Top 10 OSU receivers in the last 20 years and I think the guys we have on the team now as just as capable if not more so as them.

Well at the very moment, it's worth nothing. The academic scholarship has really always been worth nothing to someone like him. He could have left last year and would have still been drafted. Right now he's playing for mostly pride, and I'm certain he could quit right now and still be drafted in the Top 10.

The NFL just gets a free development league for guys like him to train for 3 years. They should be paying him out of high school with cash money and preparing him on their dime instead of forcing him to feign amateurism at school.

"Plenty of people" is a hugggeee overstatement.

The vast majority will never play professionally and an even smaller amount end up as legitimate stars.

I'm sure whoever Indiana's DE this weekend is will be happy to get his free education, and realistically, that's a pretty good return for his level of athleticism in a free market. Meanwhile, Chase Young is worth millions and his scholarship is essentially worthless in comparison.

The opposite, not being able to sell to the 2nd market is the only thing that could account for a 20% drop in sales.

It's a ~$250 investment with potentially $500 returns, more if playing TTUN. Most 20 year olds will take that deal every time.

Difference is, whoever Clemson loses too will likely not have one or zero losses. MSU ended up taking our spot that year essentially.

Those guys from last year were all fast, but they were mostly unimpressive to me until last season (i.e. Haskins was a factor). If Fields is as good as he looks, he'll make any of our highly skilled receivers look pretty good, which so far he's done.

We remember Dashawn Hand being told UM athletes aren't allowed in the engineering program

I personally know two UM athletes who graduated with an engineering degree
