I get what you mean, but we don't need good luck to compete against top teams, we have beaten 3 very good teams in Oklahoma, Wisc., and TTUN already. Those are 3 playoff caliber teams without a doubt. Also, let's not forget what JT has proven to us, he is a great QB and plays much better in warmer weather. He lit up Oklahoma and to an extent Wisconsin. He may have not played well this weekend, but we don't come back and win that game without him
Very difficult for a conference like the Big 10 to place the "two best teams" in a championship game because we are too large to play a complete round robin. In the Big 12 everyone plays each other, which makes it pretty clear who the top two teams would be. The scheduling inconsistencies would become a major talking point at the end of every year. For example Iowa was undefeated last year in the Big 10 but was clearly not the best team because of who they had and had not played.
You can definitely claim to be better than the team that beat you, thats the definition of an upset. But that doesn't mean Penn St doesn't deserve the play in the Big 10 Championship. We are the better team. They are the most deserving team. It is as simple as that. When it comes to Conference Championships, their goal is to put the two most deserving teams in. When in comes the the CFP, their goal is to put the four best teams in. Thats why if we win out we will not play for the Big 10 Championship (nor should we), but we will play for the CFP.
This is very true, but I also think Washington will drop a game before the season is over, and in that scenario a win over TTUN likely gets us into the CFP without even playing in the Big Ten Championship Game. It would be Bama, Clemson, Big Ten Champ and then OSU in that order.
Never know how much better Hooker has gotten since last year... Could have made big maturity strides this offseason for all we know
Darron Lee was a far more productive LB than Peppers has been, no doubt about it
Completely agree, anyone who was watching the spring game understands he has serious arm talent. This isn't a practice squad type of player. And yes I know its a spring game but aside from his numbers it was easy to tell that the kid can throw the rock
I think Lamar Jackson might be distancing himself as the legit front runner for the Heisman, kid is electric and puts up absurd numbers on a team that looks to have a lot of wins this year.
Said this in the FSU Ole Miss game thread a couple weeks back, my hot take was that FSU and Ole Miss are both pretty mediocre teams, and it seems like FSU is living up to that this week. I do think that the
Lamar Jacksons Cardinals are a good team, but no team that was billed as a possible Playoff team should be getting destroyed like the Noles are right now.
Receiver had a step on the outside. Bad throw for the self proclaimed best QB in college football
gotta let that stand
Another good point. I'll still stand firm that I think Ole Miss has played pretty terrible defense for most of the game even considering their early dominance. Hard to give up 9 straight scoring possessions in any situation like they have
Fair point, but it can also be said Francois did not look good much in the first half. Most of his damage has came since halftime
Hate that they say Francois has had a great game against a "tough SEC defense". Anyone watching this game can tell the Ole Miss D has been awful for the most part tonight. Not saying he hasn't played great but this isn't a tough defense from anything I've seen tonight
And same for Ole Miss, they don't go for two last TD and its 7. Never go for 2 early folks
Didn't catch any of the Miami game, did Kaaya live up to the hype?
Hot take: I don't think either of these teams are really that good.
Winning every game is obviously ideal. But in respect to our playoff hopes, a loss at Oklahoma this early in the year hurts us about as little as a loss possibly could. If we lose at OU and win out, we are in the playoffs no doubt.
Alex Collins is an interesting name. I generally like his game but can't say I know much about him. What's your scouting report BassDropper?
I don't see Henry being that much better in the NFL that Crowell is right now. Im not convinced Henry will be anything special in the League
Impressive, this is probably just a s good if not better than most of the "expert" mock drafts. Knowing that you actually scout guys and watch tape and don't just use other people's picks to make your own makes this mock awesome. Thanks for posting
