Nick Saban is the best coach? Maybe it is just me but it seems that Tua Tagovaiola not playing in the 2nd half all season hurt them badly and in the worst possible time. Tagovailoa finished ahead of Haskins for the Heisman? Remember that it was Hurts that won the game against Georgia which is why we got to watch Alabama get manhandled in their game against Clemson.
A lot of us out there were not upset when our beloved Buckeyes were left out of the playoffs. If the playoff teams were being picked tomorrow, Ohio State would be in the playoffs. Why? Because they were ALWAYS among the top 4 teams despite the awful loss to Purdue. Sorry but the committee got it wrong again and they got it right only after the 2014 season. Consistency should be job #1 for them and that is exactly the place where they are the worst.
Rant over and thank you to the biggest and best fanbase in college football for allowing me to be part of everything that we are.
During the game, my wife said THE BUCKS ARE WINNING BY 14, WHY DO YOU WANT HASKINS THROWING MORE? THEY SHOULD RUN THE BALL AND THE CLOCK! She was right! Even Dave Wannstedt said the Bucks did not do enough. When is a 21 point win not good enough? Only in this situation. A one point win is just as good as a blowout. Trying to blow teams out can lose games. See 2002 Ohio State Buckeyes and what being in tight games all year will do to a team that plays for a title.
I see many out there that are ok with a Rose Bowl trip. I'm not. I also don't think that a QB that only plays two-thirds of a season should win a Heisman. This season was much better than this team will ever get credit for and I believe these Buckeyes have been hosed out of a playoff spot and a Heisman trophy. 10% of Heisman voters gave the Heisman to someone that played in the equivalent of 8 games without seeing Haskins play. That is dusturbing as hell and if it doesn't show you that the system is flawed, nothing ever will.
I am a Buckeye homer and you may disagree... That does not mean I am wrong, though. All we have is perception and we all will always see things differently. The playoff and CFP committee has shown that it is not the answer as we were led to believe it would be.
Matt Leinart got to me a little. If you want to tell me that Oklahoma had the better season, fine. Don't tell me that Oklahoma would win in a game against the Buckeyes, though. I believe the Bucks would be at least a 6 point favorite if they were playing next week. If you want the BETTER TEAM, you choose who you would pick if you had to bet everything you own on it.
I wish I had read your comment before I tried to explain YOUR EXACT WORDS to a TUN fan an hour ago at a different site. Harbaugh=Cooper is almost a perfect equation. Trying to explain that to a TUN fan is harder than sticking a red hot poker up your keister.
They are trying to tell me that the TUN seniors are not thinking about what it would be like to go 0-4 in The Game and that past results mean nothing. That is only true if you are a disillusioned TUN fan that wants a win so badly that you are actually believing the media. I expect a good explanation from Joel Klatt after the dismantling of TTUN happens Saturday.
They made us underdogs and that was what doomed their chances especially after Higdon's victory guarantee.
I can't wait to throw "a closed mouth gathers no foot" at Karan Higdon. That boy is dogmeat!
You gotta love Zach Boren. I loved his take on our play against Nebraska. He was pissed that players were not trying to take opposing player's heads off. At least get Boren started in the mix.
Note: I was always a huge Luke Fickell fan and took a lot of downvotes here years ago defending his coaching against a lot of you guys. He has been gone less than 2 years, guys. I may not have been right, but we sure do miss him now.
I don't see making it happen as being tricky but I opposed the BCS at its inception and hated when they took it away. I guess I am afraid of change and don't trust the people involved in making the changes happen.
That being said, I think that the "rematch" problem will present an even bigger problem for the Big 12 as Oklahoma and West Virginia may soon find out. Look at their scenario. They could split the 2 games and effectively take the Big 12 out of having a spot in the CFP. It would not be a good change for the Big Ten.
Haskins isn't throwing enough deep balls in my opinion. It seems that Ryan Day has not been plugging in any plays to get that one on one matchup 25+ yards down the field. The receiving corps is possibly the best receiving corps in the nation and I believe that Haskins should attack deep almost any time a 50/50 ball can be thrown. I trust the receivers enough to target and high point the ball to make big catches. Go with the strengths... The strengths are a QB with a cannon for an arm along with a top-notch receiving corps.
I laughed. Was that supposed to be funny?
I would have given you a dozen upvotes if I could have. I liked the call on 4th and 5, too. I expected anything but that call and after seeing the replays of the play, it seemed the OL was simply lost. Chase Young blew the play up as Larry Johnson dialed in correctly.
I have to go with Happy Valley. There is a reason why their last loss at home came on November 21, 2015. They may not be our rival but we are definitely theirs.
All of those Nick Bosa stretching to stay healthy stories then.... Injury and surgery. Play for the man next to you and for the Brotherhood. JUST BEAT PENN STATE FIRST!
I normally spell the name of their state out while misspelling it or adding exclamation points instead of I's. I tell my friends here in Florida that I AM NOT ALLOWED TO WRITE IT AS THEY SPELL IT or my peeps at Eleven Warriors will flog me.
I always thought Woody referred to them as just TUN. I thought that only because of the scores listed each season from back then. It seems I remember season scores laid out in the athletic center and seeing just TUN.
M!ch!gan always had TUN and then the score they got in the game. I could be wrong but DON'T BUY ANY GAS IN THAT STATE EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO PUSH THE CAR BACK TO OHIO when returning from a scouting trip.
We certainly have the players. They were just instructed to NOT bring it all together until this game. We all gamble and didn't want a spread like Ohio State by 23.
You are one of the good ones. Thanks for visiting and commenting. Good luck to you and the white-out but not the team. WE NEED THIS ONE!
I really think the LBs do enough to make Penn State go to the pass. With McSorely and his INT issues in his career combined with his yards per pass stat falling from year to year, I think we want to see McSorely pass.
Really that bad? I always figured with Happy Valley, University Park, and the other names given to their place around Beaver Stadium that it would be pretty cool. You guys rock with your tidbits of info and I envy a great many of you.
I still see only a handful of Nits that would start for Ohio State and it has seemed like that to me for the last 3 seasons. Franklin is bringing in quality recruits but not necessarily with the quality Urb has been pulling in. With the results of the last 3 games between us, I think that shows that Franklin is a top coach nationally..... Right?
Educate a Buckeye fan that hasn't yet seen a Buckeye game in person and lives in Florida...
Why did you call the place Harper Valley? Sorry if not knowing makes me a bit stupid.
I had to say thank you as well. We may hate your team but your run down was solid as was your thoughts on the final score. I can see the Nits winning by 7 or the Bucks winning by 3 scores. This is a scary game. We all truly appreciate your views and look forward to invading Beaver Stadium to face the squad, the noise, the fans, and their white-out. Good luck but.... GO BUCKS!!!
Hi, Bradenton. I could have been DeBaryBuck (I live in Volusia County if you have never heard of DeBary). We Buckeye fans in Florida are a big part of the Buckeye fan base. We are part of the BROTHERHOOD and we are part of OHIO AGAINST THE WORLD. Good luck to you and our beloved Buckeyes.
"Wait a second...that's some SEC-level circular logic."
Good to see I wasn't the only one that enjoyed that.
I need to make about 50 comments real fast so I can upvote this comment!
I think that the Bucks SHOULD want McSorely throwing the ball deep. His career INT numbers show a lack of discipline and his avg. yards per pass have gone down each year.
The more McSorely throws, the better that dumb ESPN graph looks for the Bucks. You know? That graph that shows the chance a team has of winning the game? At least the graph shows the winning team at a 100% chance of winning after the game is over, I suppose.
I have never seen Alabama/SEC fans so clueless as they seem now. In the eyes of every SEC fan, the Heisman race is over and Tua has won. The truly sad part is that they are calling Tua the BEST EVER and haven't seen DH throw a pass. It gets worse too but I'll not make us all lose our appetites. I will just say that no SEC fan will see how good DH is unless Ohio State plays Alabama or Georgia in the playoffs. The Alabama fans sure are good at saying how awful our beloved Buckeyes are though.
Sorry. I just came from YouTube and couldn't believe the pro-Tua comments. SEC fans just hop on the nearest bandwagon possible. Why did Georgia leave a WR so wide open in the title game last season? I think I could have thrown that game winning pass and Tua is way ahead of Haskins to the SEC fans because of that pass.
In response to the SEC fans' comments, I will just say this as I said before the 2014 Sugar Bowl: "A closed mouth gathers no scarlet and gray foot".
The Heisman race starts Saturday and after Saturday, the perception will be that Penn State is not a very good team. It seems that happens to every ranked team that plays Ohio State.
I should just copy and paste your post over and over. I would be giving upvotes within minutes. Go Bucks!
We are hated and will continue to be hated until the time comes when the football program isn't relevant anymore. Keep hating while our Buckeyes keep winning.
Massive upvotes for the artwork as our Buckeyes silence Beaver Stadium and paint the town scarlet afterwards.
Is that Franklin trying to not talk about Barrett not being a great passer? In his defense, Barrett did light them up in the 4th quarter of last year's game. Maybe it is the same to him because he is still haunted by JT's 4th quarter comeback... JT's best game possibly and he did it with his arm.
