And Penn state is about to get their '22 TE in Jerry Cross. Probably a two team battle.
Who has committed to the G-league? Max Lewis (4 star) is the only recruit to announce not going to college so far, but hes doing the 12 month training program like Beauchamp and Kyree Walker.
WRs for the ‘22 season: Fleming, JSN, Scott, Cooper, Ballard, Harrison, Egbuka are the only guarantees. Garret Wilson will be gone. Jameson will probably be here as a RS Jr but could leave early as well. Maybe Babb sticks around for 5 years but that’s no guarantee.
My 2022 predictions:
QB: Steve Angeli
RB: Gibran Payne, Dillon Tatum (APB)
WR: Luther Burden, Kevin Coleman, CJ Williams, Mehki Flowers
TE: Elijah Brown
OL: Tshabola, Blake Miller, Earnest Greene, Joey Tanona
DE: Enai White, Tyson Ford
DT: KJ Miles
LB: Hicks, Powers, McCullough, Justin Medlock
CB: Jyaire Brown, Keenan Nelson
SAF: Jaedon Gould
My guess is the one time free transfer rule may have something to do with this. If he has to sit out a year he goes pro, but if he is immediately eligible will transfer. I heard academics were a problem so he may be somewhat limited to what schools he can choose but Dayton would be a great fit.
As it stands right now:
1- Walker rSr, Carton, So
2- Muhammad Jr, Washington Jr, Ahrens, Jr
3- Sueing rs Jr, Jallow rs Jr, Brown Fr
4- Towns rs Jr, Lidell, So, Gaffney, So
5- Young Sr, Diallo rs Fr, Key Fr
Is Towns more of a wing or a stretch 4?
I could see Jallow transferring. He would likely get immediate eligibility for two years + we have Sueing, Ahrens, and Brown on the wings and Luther and Duane back at 2.
My guess is Angeli or Chase Harrison being the QB of this class. Tshabola, Miller, Powers, and Hicks are all locks. Powers should grow into a DE and Hicks likely a LB. Emeka Megwa is probably the top of the board for RBs. I'd also add Gibran Payne from Cincy Lasalle. Teammates of Jake Seibert, Jaylen Johnson, and Devonta Smith. Julian Armella and Earnest Greene are 2 other OL guys to look out for. Armella is from Thomas Aquinas and Greene from John Bosco. We have done well with those schools in the past.
Was very close to putting Edwards in there but gut feeling is he ends up staying home. Same with Tony Grimes but think he stays down south. Egbuka and JT stay in state. Should be a big DL and DB class. Also might be done at WR if egbuka stays home.
RB: Kiner and Kyree Young
WR: Ballard, Harrison, Stellato
TE: Hart and Jack Pugh
OL: Christman, Jackson, Latham, Burton
DL: Sawyer, Hall, Malone, Bradley, Adeyele (swing guy), Jahzion Harris
LB: Carrico, Jaylen Johnson
DB: Derrick Davis (Saf), Devonta Smith (nickel/saf), JK Johnson (CB), Hunter Washington (nickel/saf), Damond Harmon (CB)
Both him and Bryce Steele are similar type players. It looks like we are taking both. Maybe one ends up at SS and one at LB
How many OL spots for this class?
What if Payne, Bradley, Hall, Adeyleye, Tuimolau, Malone and Goodwine all want in? Who would we take?
Some are saying Melton could end up there as well. Don't think we need to take any unless Baron or Carlton really want in.
The Stroud/Miller/McCord battle in 2021 is going to be epic.
LB target Chief Border commits to Florida.
Him and Ruckert are the two best pass catching TEs we've had. Ill be really disappointed if we just use them as blockers.
Sounds like Georiga or Florida for Gibbs. Bama already has 2 RBs committed.
Yea that’s a given
At this point there's no way Styles is making it in this class as a WR. I think we land Collins, Harrison, Stellato and Egbuka which is insane.
Yea I'm starting to think Harris and Story are a little over-hyped. I think the staff is going to shoot their shot with guys like Korey Foreman, Landon Jackson, Quentin Somerville, Travion Ford, Demeioun Robinson, etc.. Then there's the tweener guys like Elliot Donald and Adeleye who are high on us.
It’s possible they take both Francois and Watts and one of them ends up at safety and one at corner. Maybe they want to take one more db with Pryor transferring.
2 Crystal ball picks for Zed Key to Ohio St.
I'm going to assume Bradford and Gibbs.
