Now I'm having visions of Chase blowing him up for multiple sacks in the playoffs. Man, that would be sweet.
There is a little thing called ad revenue that is also streaming into The Athletic that is undoubtedly multiple times the subscription fee. Add that to the fact that The Athletic employees are likely able to freelance and get interviewed by radio stations, etc. to earn additional income and you inch much closer to a sustainable model.
We definitely have some expensive veterans with expiring contracts that can make the deal happen though.
I didn't say they weren't a very talented team. I'm just saying that they have a clear road to the conference championship on a daily basis. The same is not true for OSU, Bama, and to some degree Oklahoma.
Can definitely give Clemson their props because they are performing on the field and killing it in recruiting.
Not much is made, though, of their cake walk into the playoffs every year in the horrible ACC conference.
Crazy... I saw this article and was like "why do i know this guy's name?". I was on a college track team with his dad, who also played basketball at the school I was attending. Hope he lands with the good guys.
You can say that again...
Miller may very well be the key reason that OSU is "in the game" for Kelee Ringo and Bijan Robinson for starters...
Go get 'em Tate. Slay the giants in conferences far away, like our other wayward QB... Joey B.
Clearly LJ Sr. is the cream of the crop when it comes to D-Line coaches. Regardless of age, if Mattison is viewed even in the "Top 10" of NCAA D-Line coaches, it is nothing short of a luxury to have both on staff simultaneously. AND, it will do nothing but help us recruit the likes of Bresee, D.Henry, Tre Williams, Sawyer, etc.
Oh wait, sorry I talked recruiting... /s
Obviously everyone's biggest concern is defensive scheme and fixing the problems we saw this year. But honestly, I kind of feel that it can only get better considering the athletes we have.
No chance it is Aranda, who currently makes $2.5M a year. Raymond and Busch both at ~$400k to $450k annually, so maybe?
There's no way NFL coaches are working 9 to 5.
Time for Joey and Nick to start having kids, because the 2037 class is expected to as great as the 2036 class!
Just read about this kid earlier and then later learned that OSU has been talking to him. Can't imagine he will come to OSU. Sounds like he's fairly tight with Auburn's QB commit (Nix).
At the risk of being off-topic, I'm surprised to not see DeaMonte Trayanum and Michael Drennen on the big board above.
The Patterson and Fields cases are very different. If I'm not mistaken, Ole Miss was going to be bowl ineligible for the next 2 seasons (the only remaining eligibility for Patterson), so that was the driving force behind granting him immediate eligibility.
Now... what happened to Fields is inexcusable. I believe that baseball player has been dismissed from the team and is likely headed elsewhere. Difficult to argue that the same hostile environment exists if the baseball player is no longer with Georgia unless somehow there are other problems throughout the athletic department. I'm not completely convinced he'll get immediate eligibility.
On the topic of transfers in general, I don't like the idea of granting players immediate eligibility elsewhere unconditionally. That would create a nightmare scenario where you could have serious depth problems that you can't solve because players are transferring after the National Signing Day dates.
Bentley has a great gig going. No chance he's coming to the college ranks.
I agree... my comment was aimed at the OP, not you.
You're out of your mind... Schiano and Urban landed NPF.
Sorry... that doesn't qualify as a surprise to me. That would be more accurately described as a disappointment at this stage.
