Overuse of NSAIDs, under hydration, and heavy workouts are directly tied to the serious kidney issue called rhabdomyolysis.  I've not had it, as I don't take enough NSAIDS or workout hard enough to inflict similar kind of damage.

I've spent the majority of my adult life in "other" B1G states.  You know how many coaches would love to be as "mediocre" as a fired OSU coach?    Just found some relevant stats.  Earle was/is 21st in winning percentage all time amongst B1G coaches.  11 of those above him on the list didn't coach a game after WW2.  The longest tenured coach in the league is some 50 spots back (Go Ioweegan mediocrity), and the guy many consider the best coach in college football, or at least the last 14 years (Roll Tahd), sits 60 spots behind Earl.

Buckeye fans have it good.  Firing coaches after one bad season, firing coaches cause they can't beat a rival...  cause they punch a Clemson kid in the throat...  or lie to the NCAA about some NCAA-only-felony. Even OSU football coaching scandals pale in comparison to other league issues.  No need to beat a dead Pa.

I mean, those are the standards, not the 60.9% winning percentage that got Alvarez a bust and permanent director-gig or the same percentage for Ferentz who won't ever be fired (until he punches a kid in the throat).

Looking the top end of the list over, the Pelini fire (71.2% vs Cooper's 71.5%) is still the most mis-guided firing in the league that I can recall.  He called the fans morons and rednecks (they have their fair share, for a while I listened to their local homer-radio) during a conversation he didn't expect to become public...

Its great to be a Buckeye fan.

I'm sure there is a slower DB playing somewhere in D1, but the lack of self-awareness from a MAC type DB playing in the B1G... Someone should put a low-light reel together for that guy, based solely on getting his A handed to him by Buckeyes.  He's likely "key" in about 113 OSU points vs scUM.  But there can be no more poignant low-light for "mouth vs performance" than here: https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football/the-situational/2018/11/99761/dominion.

Carolina, you get an upvote from me, mostly because I don't think you're THAT far off base, and you're probably taking too much heat from die-hard bucks fans.  That said, given the schedule of football and travel etc I'd be surprised if most collegiate QBs don't take at least an online class here or there - maybe because of academic reasons (maybe the in person class is only offered in the fall and meets MWF at 2PM and would guarantee 6-8 absences for travel schedule?).

Someone find the purchase orders for the original steel girders and beams... Just saying, plenty of foundries and forges on the south shore of Lake Erie.

I wouldn't say it crossed any ethical line, these sites are predominantly opinion sites anyway.  Sure some guys check their sources better than others, but that whole column was a sour-grapes take on life for the woLverines.

It's a shot fired in the direction of "you don't even go to school, I had to go to school, physically." I would say that Fields probably doesn't have to walk uphill in the snow both ways to school.  I mean, when I was in college, I did have to physically attend class, but I also had to check some BS website called "blackboard" for my assignments rather than reading the "whiteboard" behind the professor...  I missed more than one assignment because I didn't write it down in my notebook.

Fields comment about only online classes did strike me as a bad look, but there is also a huge generational (technology-wise) gap between JFields and I was able to move on.  woLverines and their athletic supports might have a harder time with it.

TOSU takes abuse from plenty of fans about academics, going back at least as far as Katz, but if you check the enrollment of the graduate programs on campus, I bet you'll find plenty of "nerds" from the rest of the league enrolled at TOSU.  And I bet even a few Buckeyes take their intellectual talents to Ann Arbor.

ApareNATLY TYpinG iSn'T rEqWIrEd to B 4sho Mo AcaDEEExish than the rest of the B1G.

Weird how that particular poster managed to skip their other rival who may or may not belong on that list academically, but does from an "Overrated-most-years-and-nationally-relevant-every-fifth-November" football perspective - Our Lady of South Bend.  But he/she invited the academies because: everyone needs a Purdue?  Or they like to sometimes lose to patriots?  Also, they forgot Vandy.

They're still crying over at Mgo tonight.

Also there was a forum post about Urban Frank's recruiting ability being statically impossible without bagmen.   Which is about what you'd expect from a numbers geek who can't handle losing.  It's funny because they're the ones most recently named as having a paid player, at least in federal court...  They're a basketball school and they've forgotten that.

And he also was the safety coming from the other side of the field trying to cover Wilson on the Fields comeback bomb.  It just gets better.

Goodness, the more I watch the highlights, the more I want Metellus to come back next year.  Anyone know a good NCAA lawyer?   I'd hand both the attorney and Metellus an envelope of cash for another appearance in this game.

"Ifs and buts were candy and nuts" "Coulda shoulda woulda".

Here a quote from Markusr2007 over there:

"But it is naive to believe that as things are today Michigan can emulate a program like Ohio State that will "win at all costs".
Ohio State wins football games at all costs.  They devote everything to it. They also recruit better.

Michigan does not. The competition at Michiga is good to very good, but it's not elite. Admissions requirements, recruiting deficiencies, the absence of bag men and the lack of sexually generous recruiting hostesses will continue to be the soft underbelly of Michigan football. "

Last I checked, they also don't read their own newspapers:

A little tattoo-weed-gold-pants exchange or a loan for airfare for someone's girlfriend to attend a bowl-game or whatever other violations in C'bus seem pretty light-hearted compared to straight pay-to-stay in federal court.

He met Austin Mack at the goal-line and looked disinterested.  Might have been able to do something (lack of speed wasn't the issue on this play).  Then JK's jumping TD might have been prevented with better speed from Metellus, or a better angle, or more commitment.  He again, looked like he was going through the motions on a Wednesday practice.

I wasn't even talking about his blown coverage on Olave, or when KJ Hill got leverage and caught the short TD on the hook/comeback... I forgot he also was the safety who couldn't stop JK getting in on the first score.  Goodness, the more I watch the highlights, the more I want Metellus to come back next year.  Anyone know a good NCAA lawyer?

I probably wouldn't do that, but it would definitely take some shine out of my fan-hood.  But TtUn and their "difficult" ADmIsZoNnz process, its amazing that they weren't aware of how many cameras are in [their own?] that  building.  Harbaugh is an ass, and that was an ass-clown move, probably encouraged from above.

127 million worth of Nike off-brand swag and cash isn't enough?

They got plenty of retaliation.  Check JK's stat-sheet.  Either way, its cheap and its really, really dumb when you're not at the bottom of a pile, but two guys who had just made an ankle tackle at the point of attack out in the open in front of three referees.

I guess it looks  better if he cries about reporters insulting him than trashing his own recruits and coaching hires.  Cause that's about his only other option.  Sure, cliche, class and coach speak are possible, but I would imagine having your rear kicked 5 years a row is wearing thin on a guy who is more about blow-hard retorts and motivational videos than winning football games.
