Here's another honorary vote for my friend Barry Walker.  Had his health held up he and Keith Byars would have created a legendary backfield for the Bucks.  Most don't know that as a 220 lb fullback, Barry had tailback speed and ran as fast as a 4.3 40 yard dash.  He struggled with some concussions during his career as a Buckeye.  Sadly, Barry lost his battle with pancreatic cancer a few years ago.  He was so loved by his teammates that more than a dozen showed up at a benefit and so did Coach Earle Bruce (who delivered a very fiery, Earle type speech).  Barry was a man of great faith who led by example with his love of the Lord.

I have heard that burrow will graduate in the spring.  if he does, I don't see him competing with haskins because if he has any brains, he will be leading another top program as a graduate transfer.  up 42-3 against Michigan state and not only does burrow not warm up, it doesn't look like he even considers warming up.  appears urban has made his decision and that's fine, I just hope burrow finds a landing spot and shows what he can do.

i'm not 100% sure of the graduate transfer rules.  can urban dictate programs he can't transfer too like undergrad transfers?  being a red shirt sophomore, can burrow play someplace for two years as a graduate transfer?

I'm not sure Burrow ever gets a legit shot.  I think neither he nor Haskins passes JT on depth chart regardless of level of play.  Haskins appears to be the "it" guy of the moment.  Should Haskins pass Burrow on depth chart, I hope he transfers.  I think his accuracy and game awareness translates to having a chance to play on Sundays.

I respect what JT has accomplished in his years at OSU but I agree with others who say he has regressed.  Maybe a coaching change will help, who knows.  I've flip flopped on what has caused the passing game to struggle so much.  At first I thought it was receivers not getting any seperation, then I thought it was JT not being able to fit it in a tight window.  Ultimately I think it's both.  I question whether the WR group are getting coached up.  I think the success OSU had this year was in spite of JT.  I don't question his leadership abilities but I do question his ability to throw the ball downfield.  I can't count the number of open receivers he missed downfield this year.  Nobody is going to hit 100% of those throws but at this level, when people are wide open, I would think 65-70% should be expected.

just wear any buckeye gear and the fans will find you.  always amazed at how many people from ohio are in vegas at any one time

joe has been in Athens since I think the third grade so Ohio is much more his home state than Nebraska is.  while its true that his dad coached there and his brothers played there, short of his family's affection for the school, that is the only connection I can see.

wasn't at game, listened online.  athens fell behind 17-7 at half, they lost two fumbles in first half giving svsm a couple of short fields.  the teams traded a couple scores and finally athens defense got a couple of stops.  burrow led athens to four touchdowns in the second half to win the game 34-31.  for the game he was 31-43 for 309 and 4 tds, 0 picks (again).  athens took the lead with 1:51 left in the fourth.  burrow now has 57 tds vs 1 interception on the year.  i'll definately be in columbus for the championship.

Burrow did have a bit of a rough night imo.  Tri Valley did a nice job of controlling the line of scrimmage and got pressure it seemed all night long.  TV, if I understand correctly, had only given up 48 points all year, including 5 shutouts.  After first quarter Athens had a rough time running the ball.  Still, 3 td passes, zero interceptions, one rushing td, 41 points against a 11-0 team with a stout defense, guess it wasn't all bad.

no apologizes necessary, se ohio football is no better than licking county and Athens plays in the tvc which means every league game is against a school smaller than them.  excited about tonight, should be a great game.

I'm certainly not saying you were wrong in your feelings or trying to be combative in any way, I just thought he showed the things that make a division 1 qb.  he didn't play against great competition this year but the teams he did play against, he destroyed.  its kind of like how the bucks are being beat up nationally about their lack of top tier opponents but if you are beating them soundly, aren't you doing exactly what you should do to a bad team?  one other thing that impressed me during the game was burrow's ability to get the ball to his receivers in stride, allowing them to make plays.  I thought overall his wr's did a great job catching the balls with their hands and making some decent yac.  I might had heard incorrectly but I thought Granville was just giving up 16ppg.  I'm going over to Zanesville tonight to watch also, want to see what he can do against a good tri valley team.  go bucks

silverbullet, i too was at the game and saw it completely different than you did.  while burrow did throw several short crossing routes and screens, which is common in this type of uptempo offense, i was most impressed by his ability to throw it down the field.  this is the first time i had seen burrow and was very impressed with his touch and arm strength.  he threw 2 or 3 post passes to #44 which went 35 yards or so in the air and both touchdowns he threw down the middle was lofted over a defender and caught the receiver in stride.  i think he is still very slight of build and will need some pounds put on but i was impressed with both his arm and his ability to get away from pressure.
