I agree that the punt block attempt was a big change in momentum for us, we had them off the field and as you pointed out we were going to have great field position. But our failure to stop them from going 94 yards on their final drive is what lost us the game. Defense wins championships, always has always will. The bad calls , the no calls on holding , the dropped balls , the iffy pass interference calls , none of that matters if we stop them from scoring with roughly 2 minutes left in the game.
That was the best recap of a glorious time in Buckeye history that people obsessed with stats needed to see! It brought back a lot of old memories from my youth! Thank You!
You are dead on Db ! With all spring to see what happens with Fields, Starkel can weigh his options and see were his best fit will be. Definately a bonus for us if Fields ( hopefully not) has to sit a year.
Neither of these defenses have shown the ability to have stopped our O, damn shame the committee got it so wrong this year.
Thanks Brother -Saturday noon is ALL that matters right now the rest will be what it will be - if there was ever a scenario that playing for a natty meant we had to lose to TTUN, then screw the natty!
Happy Thanksgiving to all my OSU Family and my 11w brothers out there especially us in the south! Saturday is going to be an awesome and emotional Game. Like all our Games with the skunk weasels of the north, the stats and records go out the window, If we dont let them run wild in the 1st half, our D usually makes the adjustments needed to let our O find a way to win in the 4th quarter. Here's to another GREAT GAME!
I've been noticing that as time goes on the losses don't hit me as hard as they used to. Now that the playoff's have been weakened or tainted ( imo ) by having two teams from the same conference, I am starting to find myself thinking about past glories and Rosebowl games more often than I used to. I saw my first and only game in the big house when I was 11 in 1975 during the heart of the ten year war. We won and it was glorious. Winning the GAME and the BIG championship are truly the most important things to me. We are a spoiled fan base beyond belief. Even in the cooper years we were spoiled with everything except wins over ttun. The years of our Nattys have always been filled with adversity. This year is no different if not more so. So lets enjoy the games, this is truly I believe a special year!
So to answer the question ...YES I still enjoy the games as much as I did the first time!
I moved south from Columbus 25 yrs ago to Spring Hill Tn. The GM/Saturn plant brought a lot of Big Ten fans down here. So not only do Buck fans have to deal with all the overbearing sec fans who will swear up and down that they invented football, we also get to deal with blue fans as well. I have lived in Memphis and Northeast Al. as well. Over the years I have found that the sec fans with a brain (very few) can hold intelligent conversations about football. The rabid dog bandwagon people however are the norm. Another year of domination in the bowl games would go along way to making life easier for us down here, talking to you Meatchicken!
Get rid of Davis. If we cant stop the run against a mediocre running team what are we gonna do against teams that can run like purdue and whisky. LB play HAS to be consistant and dominant.

I really expect this to be rude awaking type game for the horny frogs.
