Great to see C.J. as a captain. His touchdown catch against UNLV in 2017 shows he can make the tough plays. Hope he sees the field as wr often this year.
Really glad to hear that it’s evidently not serious.
Another great one from Ramzy.
I love Joe Burrow and hated that he left until Air Dwayne took flight. I think Joe has a Peyton Manning type game and I hope he has a great 2019 season and plays on Sunday.
That said, let’s not conflate Joe completing his degree and leaving with integrity with those who utilize the portal for debatable reasons, whether we think that’s legit or not.
RIP. Havlicek made me a Celtics fan back in the day. He was the basketball equivalent of Pete Rose without all the off-field issues. Fwiw, Buckeye Larry Siegfried was also on the Celtics for several years in the 60’s.
No hate for JTBIV here but Braxton Miller singlehandedly brought me back into Buckeye football fandom. Still hoping Braxton can make it in the NFL
Respect for Mayfield as a player is one thing. I give him that. Respect for him as a person is another thing entirely. His lame excuse for what he did only made him look worse to me. But he’s young and may yet develop some character. I hope he does.
I can’t remember a similar action by a Buckeye player, but maybe someone else here can.
Get the best players who fit tOSU culture, wherever they are from. The intangible native buckeye factor should be huge when it’s a close call.
Another great read from Ramzy. I typically read posts here without looking at who wrote them, but usually a couple paragraphs in I can tell it’s Ramzy.
Love to see the underdogs overachieve and live the dream. Go Tracy!
As a former walk-on, Saunders has already made it just by seeing the field. I was disappointed at his lack of playing time as a receiver last year, but I hope he gets another chance this year. He has shown he can run the routes and catch the ball.
This was a helpful and informative post but “new offensive line coach Greg Studrawa” came to tOSU in 2016.
Maybe it’s just my sympathy for the overachieving underdog, but I hope Saunders gets a chance to show his stuff. He seems to run good routes and he ain’t bad in the hands dep’t either.
There’s been a lot of changes already and more are ahead, but so far Coach Day’s decisions and hires inspire confidence. Hopefully the dangling recruits will see it that way!
Brandon has been down a long rough road. I was not aware of his depression issues. Much respect to him for working through all this, and for being available to help others.
Now, have a great spring practice and be a force on the OL this fall!
Nothing against Gill, but I hope Saunders gets a chance to play too. The guy catches everything. Remember the TD pass from Haskins in 2017 against UNLV? Hands!
Glad for Denzel’s success but these contrived “events” are a joke. Seriously, a “football-inspired take on a fire bucket brigade”? People actually watch this stuff?
+1 from a GR resident!
I think McLaurin may surprise a lot of people. He’s a complete player- receiver, blocker, spec teams gunner- with strong character and work ethic. He could have a better career than some of his more highly touted teammates.
As a lifelong Reds fan, I can vaguely remember Waite Hoyt. I’ve had good times and bad times with Marty, lately mostly bad. A couple years ago he was on a vendetta against Votto, based on rbi stats alone. He doesn’t get the new stats at all. But he and the old lefthander were magic much of the time.
Not a Thom fan, so I hope it’s true that he won’t succeed his father.
To my eyes Fields seemed to have a great initial burst and lateral quickness but not as much sustained downfield speed.
Interesting that his most consistently effective plays were pulling it down and taking off, often ending with him taking big hits rather than avoiding contact or sliding. Will Day encourage that?
Believe it would have been a safety due to coming on a 2-point conversion play. Wondered myself why it wasn’t listed in the stats. Maybe the same reason, or the stats are just wrong.
Btw, great to see Weber have some good runs!
I hope all three finish well, especially Dixon who has worked through all the knee issues. Lots of respect for him.
Looks like UW is similar to ttun in several ways. Hope the Buckeyes who played ttun show up, especially that Dre'Mont, Mike W, and the others who are departing play well to send Urban off with a boom!
We toss around the G O A T title pretty casually, but it is absolutely true of Urban Meyer.
His stiff arm is lethal!
Good size and motor. The highlights show he’s relentless in attacking the ball both in pass rush and run defense. That last play is amazing where he sorta flips the blocker over his head.
