Not saying that at all, but it was pretty evident how much talent was all over the field yesterday. Bama clearly has their flaws but personally, I think they’re still a top five team in the country. I would bet the house on them covering by 3+ scores against Minn, Penn St, Oregon, Utah, etc. Just my opinion. I don’t think they’ll get in this year

Not disagreeing with you but just looking at their team - I really think only Clemson, LSU and OSU could beat them. They would prob beat Minny or Penn St by 50. Just what I see when I see their talent all over the field.

Been to South Carolina, Georgia, Ole Miss, Bama, Tennessee, Miss St, and Auburn for gamedays in the last 5ish years. All conference games.

Die hard OSU alum and I've been going to games since I was a kid. I would take our gameday atmosphere over Miss St. and Tennessee.

For the other 5, I just feel like there is a buzz in the air that we don't get in Ohio - maybe due to the weather. The tailgates are in open grassy fields, close to the stadium; the fraternity houses have live bands playing in the backyards with pledges making as many drinks as you want; the campuses were pretty/not super urban like OSU; everyone was super friendly and invited you in their tents for bbq/chick fil a and drinks, etc. Then, at the game, it just seemed like the student sections were much more involved.

It's nothing against Ohio St - those schools just know tailgating/game prep.

I'm jealous of the SEC. They have the best tailgating, best gameday atmospheres, best looking girls, way more beautiful campuses, and for the most part, better teams. Sad to say, but I've been to half their gamedays and 5/7 were more impressive than Ohio St.

I think the drives to the hoop are a product of the constant on the ball pressure from the moment they get past half court. Let's face it - Iowa State & Houston had much better play makers that can beat their guys off the dribble than us.

Kaleb is a force, no doubt, but he also limits what the team can do. Last night, he was doubled on the block. How many times did he fumble the ball or fall over or take the ball down to his knees? Watch some of the best 4/5s in college bball and they hold the ball high and make sharp skip passes to that open guy from the double. That's something Kaleb will def have to work on this offseason. Coaches will definitely see that film and see his weakness.

Kind of goes hand in hand w/ no backcuts - when you have Kaleb moving from block to block, that's a big unit clogging the paint. Zone defense wise - I think you risk Kaleb getting in foul trouble as rebounding and finding a guy to box out is much harder. Not to mention Houston has 3 guys who can consistently knock down 3s.

Yesterday, I paid much more attention to off the ball movement. It's amazing the sets that Holtmann runs to get guys who aren't that skilled offensively in position to succeed. Lots of off the ball screens and curls to get guys open. Watch the set plays that are done just to get K Wesson alone on the block. Unfortunately, he's not a quick enough decision maker against the double team, but it was great to see movement. The defensive intensity was there, but this team just wasn't quite skilled enough to win vs Houston, who had 2-3 guys who were better offensively than anyone on our roster.

That being said, I'm pretty excited for next year. More raw talent coming in. Just need a guy who can be a leader (ala Tate/Williams/Craft). The defensive intensity and effort will not let up - just need some guys who can beat their guy to the hoop and make plays. Great job, Coach.

Not to say ‘he said she said’ but my girlfriends brother plays baseball at UGA and hangs w Justin all the time. I’ve met Justin twice but in big social settings. I trust my gfs brother with my life and he said his friend said ‘my niggas, come by the party’ to a group of Fball players. That’s all.

I don’t know you but you call everyone that disagrees with you a racist or you hint at that notion. Your man told a whole diff story and you decided to sideways it and go for one action. Please don’t be the nerd in a jersey front row in block O embarrassing the school.

I want 8, but Clemson and Bama have just been on another level these last 4 years. I’ve seen a lot of negatives posts towards those teams. Yeah, I dislike them. However, they’re a whole standard of what teams should want to be. Yes, the ACC sucks, but Clemson dominates the ACC (a close loss to Pitt and Syracuse by less than 7 aren’t as bad as us getting our asses kicked). They’ve also beat a decent A&M team, Auburn twice, and uSC quite a few times. The SEC is the best conference. Yes, it’s annoying, but just look at recruiting rankings, bowl records, NFL draft picks.

Do I think BC is any good? Nah, but Clemson is so well coached and good in every facet. Feels like they should be up by 40

My apologies. I don’t consider New Jersey the B1G. I’m sorry to the state of Nebraska for saying they’re worse than Rutgers.

The SEC is just a whole different level than us. Doubt we could beat half the teams in their conference bc they’re so physical
