As Mike Webber so elegantly said, “Shit happens, bum juice”
Maybe you can add Urban’s with yours - he was fixing his junk more than a baseball player with a bad cup on.
Maybe? It is a really cool place - it is a training site for the US Olympic teams. If I recall correctly, they had a 7'+ (7'7" maybe?) center that was training there last year. I used their indoor facilities for winter workouts for a baseball team I coached. Also, you can grab some local wine in Geneva, there are a dozen or so winneries in close proximity to SPIRE.
+1 for The Fisher King reference! Nice
Interview started off rehashing the timeline of his reports and the responses from OSU and Urban last week. McMurphy said he did not have any proof that Urban knew of the 2015 incident. Then went into the entire circumstantial evidence and that "everyone in the building at OSU knew" including coaches and coaches wives. Also included the potential Title IX issues if anyone on the staff knew. He also said that he has further information that he won't disclose that would make Z. Smith and OSU look even worse. Concluded with a statement that his goal of the report was to present facts/info to let people make their own opinion on what actually happened and who knew. He was asked directly if Urban should be fired.... His response was he thinks Urban will be fired and could potentially be a "technicality" that OSU will find to fire him and then reiterated that there was no evidence that he had that proves that Urban knew of the 2015 incident. He thought OSU will not respond or have any comments until a decision has been made to either move on from Urban or move forward with him. I missed a piece of the interview (darn work) but this is everything that I was able to jot down.
Brett McMurphy is on 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland right now. I will post low-lights after listening.
Fun to watch the horses from the past play together - like a nationallly televised alumni game. But hearing Paul Keels on the play-by-play left me hoping it was football season. And to boot - an 11W shoutout during the broadcast.
Nick Lee (8 seed) from PSU was just pinned in his opening match @141. Another wrestler from PSU was also pinned, but I don't recall the name or weight class.
Oklahoma is up 3 with 8 minutes in the 1st half on Rhode Island. Tennesee and Wright State just tipped. As for my work, well that has come to a screeching halt.
Tomasello with a pin in his opening match. How in the hell do you work, watch the start of hoops and wrestling all at the same time? I don't have enough portable devices for all of this.......
There are 2 Skylines in the 216 - One in Mayfield and one in Parma right off 480. I love the 4 way with onion and a couple of cheese coneys. However, these must be taken in moderation - at least once a year whether we need it or not.
Dre'Mont from the top rope with that one - I'm just happy to still be in Cleveland. My boss said he was going to try to trade me for a years supply of Jimmy John's.
And that video says it all. Got some chicken skin after that one......
Imagine how fast he'd be in HD!
Met him while he was still at OSU at Eddie's #27. He stopped by our table after my youngest, who was 3 at the time, walked past his table and said "My daddy knows who you are - JOHN SIMON!". He didn't need to do it, but he stopped at our table on his way out and took pictures with my boys and talked to them for 10 minutes as they asked him all sorts of random questions about football, Tressel, school, more football, more Tressel, and even his tattoos. He's been a family favorite ever since. Happy for him and his family!
Ficklesticks?
Went to the Chardon WGH game - Bowden was as advertised, he was clearly playing a different game from everyone else on the field including a JR linebacker from Chardon (Kline) who holds a couple of D1 offers.
Bull Durham, Revenge of the Nerds (original one only), Can't Buy Me Love, Say Anything, History of the World Part I (anything Monty Python would work), Pulp Fiction, Its a Mad Mad Mad Mad World, Shrek (the original), Eight Men Out.
Not many Harding grads willing to admit that in public. Did we play together? Position? Trying to recall names from back then is almost impossible at this point.
Played 4 years at Marion Harding (graduated in 1992). Went on to play 4 years at Hiram College where we played in NCAA tournament in 1995 - losing in the round of 16 to the eventual NC (Ohio Wesleyan) after beating Hope College in the opening round. High School years were good - college years were entirely different. We never lost more than 5 games in a season and tied or won for the OAC regular season or tournament title each year. I played in the central midfield with a 2X All-American behind me. Easily the best player I ever played with.
Born and raised in Marion - family still lives there. Hate to see the crap going on there - never would have imagined in 1992 that the drug problem would get that bad. Still visit a couple of times a year - the best part of Marion I see is the Now leaving Marion sign - sad to say but the truth.
Can't Buy me Love ; Bull Durham ; Trading Places ; Beverly Hills Cop ; Red Dawn.
Born and raised in Marion (Harding High). Hiram College for 4 years and have been in NE Ohio since - Chardon is home and Beachwood is work.
Brother live in Cbus, sister-in-law graduated at works at OSU, Dad graduated from OSU and taught in Marion (Ridgedale).
