Seems like 2021 DB recruiting has fallen off a little since Hafley's departure. Time to plant some flags.
Next off-season we might not have any coaching change drama whatsoever. Only one I can see going is Washington because he's young.
We're so lucky to be in a state of where the majority of the recruits grew up as Buckeye fans and commit to the Buckeyes without having a second thought. I couldn't imagine being a USC fan and seeing all those guys in The Coliseum's backyard travel across the country to play for the elite teams.
Just went and watched Malaki Branham drop 42 against Trotwood, the best team in Dayton. Holtmann was in attendance... his mouth had to be watering.
The whole 'numbers' thing is just kind of strange to me. Day 100% could've made room if he wanted to. Starting to think he didn't like his chances, didn't want to waste everyone's time this weekend, and just wanted to move on.
It all seems kind of weird to me. You think they would at least host him, wait to see if a few more guys transfer, and then make a decision on whether they have room for him or not.
I guess Day didn't want to lead him on knowing he might have to tell Gibbs in two weeks, "hey we don't have room."
I hate to admit it but this seems like poor management to me. I'm sure they weren't expecting Wade, Hilliard, and Cooper to come back, but still.
The SEC knew damn well that Ohio State would've matched up better, hence why they chose against us. Clemson's DBs stood no chance from the start.
Both Brown and Kiner is interesting. Both are bigger backs at 210. I think they'll go one of those two guys and a shiftier guy like Edwards, Pryor, Shipley, etc.
I think the staff takes a pure safety, especially if Martinez goes elsewhere. Derrick Davis would be ideal but that'll be a dog fight.
Glad to hear they are still more worried about what we do instead of their poor recruiting efforts that Wiltfong exposed last week.
No one is questioning his talent. We know he's a stud.
Got the chance to have a quick chat with him in the Phoenix airport 9 hours after the game. Really hope he has a solid offseason and finds himself on a NFL roster in August.
I've heard that plenty of times before.
Someone posted Coombs 6 minute speech on Instagram and his dad commented something about how he admires Coach Coombs. Also remember an insider, can't remember who, saying that he's close to a decision. Still somewhat of a gut feeling though.
I expect JK Johnson to be committed sometime before Valentine's Day.
The last RB recruit that didn’t have his father as a child and was a son figure to Alford worked out pretty well I would say.
Why are we so interested in a kid that screams NCAA violation? Keep him away from this program at all costs.
Would love to have him, especially after we missed out on Wohler.
This might be a stupid question, but how do these kids get to practice? Obviously they don't have cars with them, and they aren't walking all the way from 10th to the WHAC. Do they Uber to practice every day? I feel like that would add up quickly.
Me as well. And Karlaftis.
People are really surprised that football players, aka the most coveted students at tOSU, have nicer dorm rooms than your average students? How is Ryan Day supposed to recruit by telling them, "Yea, you'll be living in this 130 sq foot dump" ?
The future of recruiting news: Twitter follows
Kirby is publicizing his minor recruiting infractions in order to wag the dog from his major recruiting infractions. Genius if you ask me.
Interesting to see Collins on here but not Egbuka/Stellato. Collins cancelled his visit for the PSU game after MHJR committed.
