Actually it was the coaching staff that 'revolted' after the *ichigan game. Woody had refused to throw in the second half of the tie game, due to a sore thumb that Cornelius Greene had from the previous week vs Iowa. He was relying on a phenomenal defense and Archie to keep U* at bay. The staff demanded that they be allowed to call the game that they planned against USC or they wouldn't go. Woody relented and the result was an offensive outburst vs a very good Trojan team. Corny's first or second pass of the game was intercepted and Woody almost took over, but he refrained and the passing attack was something like 6-8 for the day and loosened up the Trojans enough for Archie, Corny and Pete Johnson to have outstanding performances. Archie's 4th quarter run was a thing of beauty. The defense did give up 21 points, the most they gave up all year, but completely shut down the Trojans in the later 3rd and 4th quarter.
