I have been to a lot of games over the years with my dad, my daughters, and my son. I have only been to two Xichigan games and they were both losses(90's). I get too emotionally involved to attend this GAME, however after leaving Xichigan State last year with my 9 year old son, he asked on the way home back to Chicago if i would take him to the Xichigan game this year. So we are making the drive over to game this weekend. We are staying in Toledo, so that we do not have to sleep in Xichigan the night before. I can certainly appreciate the dominance of the Senator and Coach Meyer after living through the 90's with Coop. My son is 10 and has only seen us lose to Xichigan 1 time in his lifetime. I hope Saturday brings us the same joy as the previous 5 years have.
I actually know Chris' parents very well, i went to HS with his dad. Kid is everything you would want from a son. Having said that he i would not have taken him over the LB's we have seen come through during his time at MSU. He plays with a lot of heart because he is undersized, he is not very good in pass coverage. He always seems to get pumped up for the Buckeye game, so i expect for him to play well this weekend.
I grew up in Columbus a life long die hard fan, and have lived in Chicago the last 12 years. Living in Chicago has been great, I am fortunate enough to be able to get to a lot of stadiums with a short drive. I have made it to every stadium except for Minnesota and Rutgers so far. I can honestly say i do not think i will ever go back to Iowa. I had an awful experience with fans. My kids love to travel to the games and i have found that the most loyal fans for Ohio State go to the away games, and so i enjoy that. I had people get in my face on 3 different occasions on Saturday and so it did not make for a good experience for my kids and I. I understand that we are the big bad Buckeyes and everyone wants to beat us, but have some class while doing it. We ended up leaving after the 3rd quarter, which i have never done in my life, but i felt if we stayed it was going to end badly and my kids did not deserve to be treated the way we were. I thought the wave was very cool, but other than that it was by far the worst experience i have ever had at an away game.
I actually like the alt uniforms, but the helmet needs to remain untouched. I almost lost my lunch when i saw the helmets for TTUN last year. That game has too much tradition to wear those helmets last year, i would have been okay with the chrome with buckeye leafs, but not the matte dark gray!!!
The two back system my help us this week if the weather is bad, JK offers that burst of speed and skill to cut on a dime and Weber with the power game. I also thing the short crossing routes and letting our receivers get open in space will help us and not have to rely on the deep pass. I am concerned with this being a trap game and at night. Keep our eye on the prize, get past this game and focus on PSU.
Heading over from Chicago, what section do the visiting teams sit in? I was told it was right by the tunnel that the visiting teams come out of?
What section do the visiting fans sit in at Memorial Stadium? I cannot find what unnell the team runs out of and what section it is by?? Heading to Lincoln Saturday morning from Chicago
I have hotel booked for both sites, i can cancel up to 24hrs, waiting on flights for official word, and tickets right now on StubHub for 130.00 upper bowl and 235.00 in the lower bowl, should have checked there first before you went to the bowl site.
