Does it makes sense for him to transfer? He is a year away from graduating. Why wouldn't you compete for the starting role this spring. If you don't win than you sit out just as you would if you transfer. The only difference is if you transfer you are forced to sit, if you don't you get a chance to play even if its backup duties. At least that way you can play in some form next year without just benching yourself with transferring. IMO I would just wait a year and use the grad transfer rule if you don't win the job.
I agree that Dixon was healthy. The problem with Dixon not being targeted for long stretches is Dixon runs one route (some form of deep route). This is specifically why he had an insane yds per catch average. Dixon had by far his best season and I expect him to make further strides this year. He didn't have a ton of drops but he did have a huge drop on a wide open deep ball against Wisconsin in the Big Ten championship game which would have taken away all moment and could have lead to a big blow out win.
I honestly really don't care who plays or how they rotate them as long as the results are there. I think the point of this article should have been about who are the most complete wideouts on the team. The reason we have 6 guys rotating is because we have 3 guys who are really good at one thing. I.E. McLaurin best blocker, Dixon great deep ball route runner, and finally Campbell best playmaker in space. It be awesome if you could just throw these guys out there during specific plays but then every team we play would know what was coming. Not that on 3rd and 10 or less we didn't know a QB run up the middle wasn't coming. I do think all 6 will benefit from Haskins simply because he has confidence in his ability to throw outside as much as he does throwing inside crossing routes.
If I had to pick I think Mack and Hill gain the most with Haskins at QB as I think those are the guys that will come out as go to guys on 3rd down plays.
I am not to worried who is starting at QB as long as he gives us the best chance to win games and make playoffs. I loved JT Barrett and he did great for OSU. However, I did feel at times one of the other QBs gave us a better chance to win a game and should have played. Each QB on the roster has some fantastic strengths. It just so happens that each QB's strengths are different then the other which makes it a hard decision. You have a Game Manager, a great Arm and possible prototype future NFL QB star, and then you have a wildcard X factor. Let the games begin!
what is funny is if he flips it will be a loss but it won’t hurt us. We will find another player and won’t even think about Jones. We have a system put in place. You get the right player to buy in doesn’t really matter.
Honestly the team needs to stop swinging and missing at recruits to get better. Thad is not built to be Izzo and develop a player for 4 years. He needs players that are almost a finished project and can just send them out to play. It's been 2 season since we seen someone step up and be the guy or be a finish project. Loving at one point looked hopefully but ever since he missed that shot freshman season against MSU he hasn't looked the same. Hopefully we can bring in a 5 or 4 star player again that can run the team. Thad has done great over years but he has done so with recruiting and lately he hasn't been getting a polished 4 or 5 star player, but rather a work in progress which doesn't play well into Thad's skill set.
dang well he probably gets a chance to play QB now for fickell
Dang Tyjon could have been a great one. Wish him the best but seems like OSU needs to just focus on to the next, hopefully we snag Jaylen Harris. Between Jaylen and Grimes we finally have some HEIGHT at the wideout spot!
Solid write up I enjoyed the read. I know they had Peter McIntyre out of Toledo St. Johns visit for a game who is considered an underrated prospect. I assume with a loaded class and little wiggle room they would most likely look DB and move Pryor and White to Linebacker and take a better DB before take a low rated linebacker.
I am interested to see where Braxton and Michael Thomas go. I feel like they have gone up and down from first round to second round talent.
Brim, thoughts on the linebackers for this upcoming class? how many do you think they want in this class? Are they looking more inside or outside linebacker this year?
So many Booms carrying NSD right into the next year!
And Boom goes the Dynamite!
Pumped for signing day! Can't wait to be hitting the refresh button every min on signing day!
BOOOMMMMMM! Welcome aboard!
will be very interesting to see where he goes in the draft! I feel like he going be a pretty good receiver and would look good working out of the slot position!
Ahh would have been a great pick up to an already loaded class! Got to focus on the top DB right now in Fuller. If he commits I would say this class has gone way above and beyond!
After Haskins comments today that the Buckeyes aren't done yet, I feel like that means the coaching staff feels very confident that they will be landing either Lawrence, Hardman, or Jordan Fuller. Or he was just making a general statement but I feel like the Buckeyes have a great shot landing at least two of these players.
BOOOOOMM! Haskins, Victor, Jones!
Day = MADE!
The addition of Haskins and Lawrence to this class would be amazing!
