Hard to see this thread turning out any way other than #hottakes leading up to comments being closed
damn dude you must be a real badass
It amazes me you automatically assume people offended by it are millennials. Every generation says something about how the next generation is the worst. It's an overplayed and lazy narrative.
DJ, I don't think I've missed a Skully in years now. Your writing was always there to start off my day and provided a sense of stability even on tough days. Thank you for keeping a smile on our faces, and best of luck running for office.
hmm I might have to go there some time and try it out! I always like going to Lone Wolf for a couple drinks in the west loop too.
I've never been to one here. Seafood is plentiful though. For nice Japanese/sushi go to Katsu or Kai zan. Sushi you can go to friends or toro. Para sushi is all you can eat but quality is mediocre.
Cooked seafood includes Devon, Roy's, or any American restaurant like boka
I've lived downtown for the last six years so here's my input.
Nice/expensive cocktails: aviary, violet hour, green river, broken shaker, 3 dots and a dash, hub 51, mercadito (margaritas)
bar neighborhoods: wicker park and Logan square have a ton of more "hipster" bars. Wrigleyville is a little more college and fratty. River north (Hubbard st and neighboring streets) are a little more bourgeois. Lincoln park is more casual and slants a little collegey because DePaul is right there.
Pizza: Lou malnatis is my favorite. Pequods is popular because of the caramelized cheese crust. Unos on Ohio street is good, Gino's east is good, giordanos is probably my least favorite. Those are all famous for deep dish. Piece in wicker park is the best thin crust
Restaurants in general: please do not go to a chain restaurant here. There are so many amazing and delicious food spots for every type of food you could want.
Mexican: frontera, mercadito, antique taco, xoco
italian: piccolo sogno, volare
chinese: Ming hin, go4food
burgers: don't go to Au cheval go anywhere else please
fancy restaurants: alinea, blackbird, fat rice, Mott street, girl and the goat, boka, balena
everyone else covered the museums and touristy things well
got a lot of political undertones with this one
As always, superbly written. It's easy to get lost in the enthusiasm and passion of college football. It's important to recognize where our real priorities should lay.
holy moly a Redwall reference... loved those books!
he's got a similar personality to stravinsky if i remember correctly
Old grand dad is $20... what are people's thoughts on it? I've been just sipping on it at home and I'm enjoying it
I wonder what you'd say if those are the stats posted with JT running the offense
don't think you can copy and paste a full article from another site (although you did include the link)
I don't like the generalization that athletes will get in trouble if they are given more money.
Do you feel the same way about yourself?
got a good laugh
He's clearly kidding around
holy moly that string of tackles against bama got me pumped
best: shake shack, wendys, chipotle, five guys
worst: white castle, taco bell, burger king
Committee cared about wins over good teams. TCU's biggest wins were Kansas St. and Oklahoma? Neither of which were good teams. They blew their only chance at an impressive win vs. Baylor.
Ohio State had 2 impressive wins (Mich St., and Wisconsin).
