I thought I was a 10 until I raised a 5th grader that made a bet with his friend that he could wear an Ohio State shirt every day of the school year and won. His mom helped by letting him wear a Buckeye shirt underneath his dress shirt for picture day. Everyone, including the teachers, called him "Buckeye" the whole year.
Nothing personal but I could live without "Super Fans" like Buck-I-Guy, Big Nut and Buckeye Man. We have a mascot, Brutus, who does an excellent job. I did enjoy the Neutron Man back in the 80s. He had his dance and got the crowd pumped but stayed in his seat. I never thought he was trying to draw more attention to himself than the game.
Zero defensive players on the list? Jabrill Peppers would like to have a word with the creators of this!!
They should have changed the name to Scarlet and Grey (instead of Gray)
I just had this discussion with my brother last night. We felt like recruiting clout currently looks like...
5. Ohio State
with 2 & 3 being very tight and 4 & 5 being very tight. I think Ryan Day will do a great job and we will ascend closer to the top.
New Mexico State was 30-4 but there's absolutely no one left in the WAC. I couldn't find a good victory in any of their wins although they played Kansas tough (lost by 3 points). On the other hand, the also lost to California Baptist.
I wish we could have hung on to AJ. He had some explosiveness.
I can't wait to see DJ in a Buckeyes uniform next season!
In fact, I'm looking forward to a bunch of silky Js with a new CJ, DJ and EJ!
Good luck. There's lots of film so impress them with your knowledge.
Bonus material: My kindergarten teacher often gave us Knox Blox (just like Jello Blocks) as a snack. I didn't realize later that Knox Blox would have a different meaning :)
I don't want to be a play in team either but a game in Dayton could be fun and like a home game
Regarding Kaleb in the article...
In the five prior games to Friday's against Michigan State, he didn't have more than three fouls in a game and had two or fewer in four of them.
I should hope not. He didn't even play in 3 of those games!
(I know they were talking about his last 5 games)
What movie is about Indiana basketball? I don't even think they have that going for them. Hoosiers has nothing to do with IU.
He's played and he's had his moments but he's not sneaking up on anyone else. No one will give him as much room to shoot as Iowa did.
Here are mine...
1. Players would rather not be paid and be able to play college football video games with their likeness (as opposed to not having the games at all)
2. National brands, like Ohio State, have to recruit nationally. As much as I want Ohio kids, I want to see us get the best talent available even more. Hopefully, enough of them will be from Ohio.
3. Since we're talking college sports, I'd like to see players from each team take a test, publicly one hour before gametime, that is roughly the same difficultly as a high school GED. You must get 7 out of 10 questions correct to pass. Pass and you're eligible for the game that day. Fail and you don't play. That would add a bunch of excitement!
I was proud of the team for not giving up but you can't start every game 0 for 10 or worse. We're not good enough to continuously dig out of deep holes.
I was using my pencil as a toothpick a couple of weeks ago and broke a piece of lead that got stuck in my gum. I used another piece of lead (probably not the smartest idea) to push it from the backside and grab it with a pair of tweezers.
I love hearing details about Spring practices. Any sign of Coach Meyer? I'd have to think that Day is soaking up advice from him given his rapid transition from QB coach, to offensive coordinator to head coach!
That quote looks like another Winovich mirage.
So happy for Paris! He already had 1st round class. I felt like he was the glue that held the team together during the pre-season turmoil. Proud to have him as a Buckeye!
They won't redshirt Harrison since he's not expected to be here for a full 4 years anyhow. Look for them to find ways to get him meaningful experience so he's ready for the following season.
Good luck to all of them. They have my gratitude for great football memories and being awesome representatives of the university!
Hopefully although I think they are a better 3 ball team with Kaleb on the floor. Not because of his shooting but he makes the defense tighten, get double-teamed, and is a good passer. He creates time, especially that young guys need, to shoot.
Big loss for a team that needs more ball handlers. Hope you heal quickly CJ!
Thanks for sharing! I wish I had been a little older during those years so I could have savored how incredibly big those games were at the moment.
A captain, 300 lbs, honorable mention all B1G. Let's get him in here. I'm sure it would be fun for him to play for the Buckeyes and block for a guy like Dobbins after being at Rutgers.
This doesn't seem totally fair to Kaleb. I certainly don't mind him holding rebounds and shooting free throws at the end of the game. The four players with better percentages are Keyshawn Woods at 84% (but he has only shot 25 free throws in 19 games), CJ Jackson at 79%, Jaedon LeDee at 76% (he's not the guy I would want at the line at the end of the game, even if he was in the game at this point in his career), and Andre Wesson at 73%. I personally think Kaleb, with a free-throw percentage that also rounds up to 73%, has a better stroke than his brother. After CJ, and Keyshawn when he's in the game, Kaleb is the next best option.
Kaleb could get in better shape but it's clear he's working hard. He's in much better shape than last year and he was in much better shape last year than he was in high school. I thought he was going to be a bust at the college level and he has proven me 100% wrong.
