The 2016 college football season sits just over three weeks away so that means it is time for preseason polls that do nothing but provide fans something to argue over before their team's first game.

On Thursday, Amway released its 2016 preseason Coaches Poll. Ohio State checks in at No. 5.

Four Big Ten teams represented their conference in the initial poll, ranging as high as Ohio State at No. 5 to as low as Iowa at No. 15. Michigan is ranked eighth.

Defending Big Ten champion Michigan State is ranked No. 11. To no surprise, defending national champion Alabama is the nation's top team according to the coaches. The Crimson Tide defeated Clemson 45-40 to win the College Football Playoff last season. Dabo Swinney's Tigers open the season at No. 2.

The first regular season coaches poll is set to be released Sept. 6. It is voted on by a panel of 64 FBS head coaches chosen randomly conference by conference by the American Football Coaches Association.
