The Hurry-Up: Georgia 2025 WR Edward Coleman Says Ohio State Offer Was "Like A Dream Come True," Buckeyes Offer Notre Dame 2025 DT Commit Davion Dixon

When 2025 Georgia wide receiver Edward Coleman received his Ohio State offer on May 11, he was nearly speechless.

“It was really like a dream come true,” Coleman told Eleven Warriors.

Coleman had met with Ohio State offensive coordinator Brian Hartline briefly the day before, with conversation topics ranging from his academics, his preparation for the upcoming season and his family life. The next day, Coleman’s high school coach had him come to his office that morning. When he arrived, Hartline was on the other end of his coach’s phone.

“I talked to (Hartline) on the phone, and he said he wanted to see me in person and how I carried myself. After that, he offered me, Coleman said. “It feels great because I train a lot, so it shows me all the hard work I’m putting in is paying off. It motivates me to keep working and live up to the standard.”

Last season for Calvary Day School (Savannah, Georgia), Coleman caught 30 passes for 546 yards with eight touchdowns. The 5-foot-10, 180-pound product also ran for 208 yards on 29 carries with four touchdowns and threw a 60-yard touchdown pass.

“I just like to get the ball in my hands,” Coleman said. “I can play outside, slot, my team has also put me at running back and I play a lot of special teams, too.”

Coleman said he was unsure if he’d visit Ohio State this summer for a camp. Still, he is determined to attend two or three games in Columbus this year.

“Just the experience of being able to be coached by coach Hartline,” Coleman said of the most appealing thing about playing for the Buckeyes. “Because he has experience playing and getting guys to the league.”

Davion Dixon earns Ohio State offer

Ohio State has entered the recruitment of four-star 2025 defensive tackle Davion Dixon, a Notre Dame commit. The Buckeyes offered Dixon on Thursday and will explore trying to flip the Miami product.

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Dixon is considered the 321st-ranked prospect and the 32nd-rated defensive lineman in the 2025 class. He committed to Notre Dame on April 21 and has over 20 Division I offers.

Last season, the 6-foot-2, 290-pound Dixon recorded 70 tackles, 33 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks and 24 quarterback hurries. He also collected five pass deflections, a fumble recovery, a forced fumble and a blocked field goal.

Charles Lester leaves Ohio State off top 3

One of Ohio State’s cornerback targets in the 2024 class is headed in a different direction. Five-star Florida cornerback Charles Lester announced his official visit schedule on Wednesday and said he’d no longer visit – or consider, for that matter – Ohio State.

Oddly enough, he said he’s down to three teams, Alabama, Florida State and Georgia, but will take official visits to those schools plus Colorado.

With Lester no longer in the fold for the Buckeyes, Ohio State will focus on other targets, such as Bryce West, Aaron Scott, Zabien Brown, Miles Lockhart, Corian Gipson and Kobe Black.
