Urban Meyer said at his retirement press conference that Ryan Day must keep up the momentum on the recruiting trail, joking that Day should be in four states the next day.

Well, it turned out to only be three states, but the entire Ohio State staff is out in the field, continuing their pursuit of some of the nation's top prospects with the early signing period looming on Dec. 19.

Here are some updates from the last few days.

Coaches on the Road

Ohio State's coaches have been on the road all week recruiting, and were forced to talk to recruits about the departure of Meyer.

Larry Johnson went to Mentor to visit 2019 commit Noah Potter, while Ryan Day and Greg Studrawa joined to see fellow 2019 commit Ryan Jacoby.

It seems as though Day's first impressions in Mentor are excellent, with their head football coach telling Kyle Rowland of the Toledo Blade: "What an impressive person. He’s fired up about Ohio, fired up about the program. The transition will be good. He’s not Urban, but he’s got to be himself. I’m very impressed, very pleased, and I know our kids are as well."

Following his excursion in Mentor, Day flew down to Texas with Brian Hartline to visit five-star wide receiver commit Garrett Wilson.

Day's third state of the day was Illinois, where he and Studrawa went and visited three-star offensive lineman Nick Broeker. The Ole Miss commit will take an official to Ohio State before signing.

Finally, Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Alex Grinch will be in Maryland tonight to visit safety commit Bryson Shaw.

Still in Play For One...

Ohio State, despite the departure of Meyer, is still in play for Whitmer HS (Toledo, OH) three-star defensive tackle Cavon Butler, he posted on Twitter.

Butler is rated as the #846 overall player in the 2019 class, and the #40 player in Ohio. As he mentioned above, he is weighing between Ohio State, Kentucky, Michigan State, and the hometown Toledo Rockets.

But Out For Another

Unfortunately, Ohio State could not keep up the momentum with 2019 three-star cornerback Renardo Green, as he told The Athletic that the departure of Meyer cemented his decision to attend Florida State.

Ohio State is currently without a true cornerback in the 2019 class.

Harbaugh in Columbus Today

Well, it didn't take long for Jim Harbaugh to come back to Columbus.

Incredibly, the picture was snapped by Joshua Perry's mom at the Lewis Center Kroger. Harbaugh was presumably in town to visit his biggest target, five-star defensive end Zach Harrison.

Harbaugh is currently making a tour of Ohio, as sources told Eleven Warriors that he was in Cincinnati yesterday, visiting a number of schools, including St. Xavier, home of five-star 2020 Ohio State pledge Paris Johnson.
