Women's Volleyball Falls to Northwestern in 4 Sets

The Ohio State women's volleyball team came up short against the Northwestern Wildcats at St. John Arena on Sunday in four sets.

The first set had the Wildcats taking a 16-12 lead midway through. The Buckeyes tried to rally, but were unable to get anything going, ultimately losing the set 25-19. The second set went much better, with Ohio State jumping out to an early 12-6 lead. After methodically pounding away, the Buckeyes topped Northwestern in the second set 25-18. The third set was much closer than the previous two. With Ohio State defending a 17-14 lead, the Wildcats managed to come back and tie the score at 22. The two teams went back and forth until Northwestern finally secured the set, 29-27. The final set was also a close affair, with the two teams tied up at 19 points. Unfortunately, after a timeout, the Wildcats went on a 6-1 run to secure both the set and the match.

With the loss the Buckeyes fall to 12-14 overall. They will look to bounce back this Wednesday as they travel to play Michigan State at 7 p.m.

Field Hockey Falls to Maryland in the Big Ten Semifinals

The No. 19 Buckeyes fell to the No. 2 Maryland Terrapins this past Friday in an ugly game. Maryland jumped out to an early 3-0 lead within 20 minutes of the start of the contest. Freshman Katie Pyle scored Ohio State's first, and last goal, in the 21st minute. Ultimately, the Terrapins would go on to score six more goals, winning the semifinal 9-1.

With the loss the Buckeyes finish 12-8 on the season.

Men's Tennis Prepares for ITA Oracle Fall Championships

The tennis team has been enjoying a successful season so far with JJ Wolf claiming the ITA All-American singles title in September for the first time in Ohio State history. Furthermore, Tim Seibert was the runner-up in the singles final at the Big Ten Individual Championships in October, while freshman James Trotter and redshirt junior Alex Kobelt were crowned doubles champions.

Men's tennis will be looking to finish off the fall season strong as they travel to Surprise, Arizona this Wednesday to participate in the ITA Oracle Fall Championships. Hopefully the Buckeyes will be bringing home some silverware.
