Winning Never Gets Old
THE PERTINENT INFO

When: Saturday, November 27, 2021
Where: Michigan Stadium, Ann Arbor, MI
TV: Noon // FOX
Announcers: Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt, Jenny Taft

This will be the 117th time Ohio State and Michigan have faced each other in football. The Buckeyes are 52–58–6 all-time against their rival, and are 24–31–4  when the game is played in Ann Arbor.

However, the overall series numbers are a little skewed due to the early results. A Michigan fan would need a birth date of 1905 in order to have a winning record against the Buckeyes. That fan would be 116 years old.

Last week, Captain Khaki's team defeated Maryland, 59-18. Did you know The One Who Wears Khakis is the only Michigan coach to lose at least three games in the first six years on the job? He has had at least three losses every year since he took over at his alma mater. Will this be the season he doesn't lose at least three games? For that to happen, he'll have to avoid losses to finish the year.

Crazy Jimmy is also their first coach to go winless at home for an entire season when he accomplished that feat in 2020.

Below, you will find some interesting facts about the teams, key offensive player stats, coach information, and team stats.

Ohio State

THE LAST TIME...

  • Ohio State played Michigan was 2019. The Scarlet and Gray won 56-27.
  • The Buckeyes played on November 27th was 2010. The team defeated the Wolverines, 37-7, in Jim Tressel's last home game as head coach.
  • Ohio State lost to Michigan was 2011, 34-40.
  • The Scarlet and Gray lost the twelfth game of the season was that awful day in 2011.

ON THE HORIZON

  • TreVeyon Henderson (17) is a touchdown away from tying Maurice Clarett's Ohio State freshman record of 18.
  • Jeremy Ruckert is one touchdown catch away from tying Jake Stoneburner for first on the Ohio State all-time TE career touchdown list with 13.
  • A win over Michigan will be Ohio State's 25th in Ann Arbor.
  • If C.J. Stroud throws for 300 or more yards, he will become the first Ohio State quarterback to accomplish that feat in five consecutive games.

*NCAA sanctions be damned.

LET'S GO STREAKING

  • The Buckeyes have won 29 straight conference games (including three title game victories).
  • Garrett Wilson has at least one catch in 31 straight games.
  • Ohio State has won 13 straight true road games.
  • Chris Olave has caught a touchdown pass in eight straight games.
  • Ryan Day is 23–0 against Big Ten opponents.
  • Ohio State has defeated Michigan in eight consecutive contests.
  • C.J. Stroud has passed for 300+ yards in four straight games and six of the last seven contests.

*NCAA sanctions be damned.

University of That Team
 University of That Team

GET TO KNOW THAT TEAM

  • The campus is located in Ann Arbor.
  • The university was founded in 1817.
  • The Wolverines are 10–1 this season.
  • The Wolverines are in their 142nd season of playing football.
  • The school's first unofficial mascot was a stuffed wolverine named Biff. The stuffed mascot was replaced by two living wolverines (Biff and Bennnie), but the two animals became too unpredictable (mean) to have at games.
  • Michigan football's first game was in 1879.
  • Notable alumni are: Ted Kaczynski (the Unabomber), Jack Kevorkian (euthanized multiple people), Francois Duvalier (evil dictator who killed 30,000 people), Herman Webster Mudgett (19th century serial killer, confessed to 27 murders, possibly killed 250 people) and James Earl Jones (voice of Darth Vader, killer of millions in a galaxy far, far away). Yes, they are the dark side.

STRANGE MICHIGAN LAWS

A woman isn’t allowed to cut her own hair without her husband’s permission.
I'm follically challenged and should be the last person anybody turns to for advice on hair.

In Detroit, people are not allowed to make love in an automobile unless the act takes place while the vehicle is parked on the couple’s own property.
Many neighbors have had awkward discussions with their kids because of this law.

In Kalamazoo, it is against the law to serenade your girlfriend.
However, if you want to get it on in your car, in your driveway anytime of the day or night...have it at.

  • 117–50 (.701) overall as a college head coach (14th year)

Harbaugh was born in Toledo, but spent most of his childhood bouncing from city to city as his father was an assistant coach for various college teams. He graduated from Palo Alto High School in California.

In 1994, Harbaugh was hired as an unpaid assistant coach by his dad at Western Kentucky. He left WKU to be an assistant for the Oakland Raiders in 2002. Following a brief stay in the NFL, Harbaugh returned to the college ranks to take the head job at San Diego. Stanford hired him in 2007. He remained with the Cardinal through the 2010 season before bolting for the 49ers.

Harbaugh left the NFL and was introduced as Michigan's head coach on December 30, 2014. Under his watch, the Wolverines have zero Big Ten titles and zero wins against Ohio State.
