At halftime of tonights University of Houston against Tulane game as the teams were leaving the field, Ed Oliver was filmed screaming at head coach Major Applewhite. It appeared from watching Oliver that he was trying to get to Applewhite who wasn't responding to Oliver's ranting. Oliver had to be lead away by Houston staff.
The confrontation appears to have stemmed from Applewhite's insistence that Oliver remove the long black coat he had on as those coats are reserved for those who have dressed for the game as this is a team rule. Oliver who was injured in the October 20th game against Navy (knee) was on the sidelines and was earlier running pass plays and jumping around on the sidelines before the game.
Oliver didn't return the second half of the game. So who is right? Applewhite for making everyone including a probable top 5 NFL pick adhere to the rules or Oliver who may think Applewhite is being petty?
