B O O M !
In the poll era (since 1936), OSU is by far the class of the B1G:
National Titles: OSU 8, UM 3
B1G Titles: OSU 34, UM 27
Head-to-head: OSU 43, UM 36
Major Bowls (New Year's Six): OSU 20-14, UM 10-16
Congrats to Haskins! Now go out and win a team trophy.

I can see Taylor and Robinson getting votes, Bush is a stretch, but Gary???? That’s ludicrous.
If I wasn’t allowed to vote for Haskins, I would vote for Gary because I wouldn’t want my vote to help someone beat my player for the award. It’s basically a throwaway
That’s an interesting take. I guess I’m just assuming that the coaches were actually voting for who they believed earned the award. I wouldn’t put your theory past these guys.
Well deserved. I would love him to come back, but I don't see that happening.
I gotta a feeling he is coming back. Ryan Day in his last interview was talking about his development at leadership skills and he pointed out he only played 12 total game. He needs more time at college level before going pro. I won't fault him if he got the indication he is going to be high draft pick and decided to leave though.
I think what is more critical for Haskins is the perceived weakness of the 2019 QB class. He might hear a lot of voices saying this might be the best time to declare. That is just something I heard. I personally think another year in college would help him immensely.
I think he'll be advised to declare partly due to more competition for the top spots on draft day next year.
Urban Meyer >Jim Harbaugh for ever and ever, Amen. 0
I just hope we don’t lose Tate ina transfer. I SO want to see him play for us too!

Good now let's get another trophy tomorrow night.

Awesome. Well deserved. Congrats to Dwayne.

Awesome. Nike should be all over this after he decides.
They'd have to photoshop out the Under Armour emblem on the mock he has on under this jersey
OSU didn't execute and lost to horrible officiating. BOTH things can be true
Well deserved, congratulations DH!
Head north till you smell it, west until you step in it
Again, what a time to be a Buckeye!
Man….. this football team.-Jeff Okudah
Thoroughly deserved it. McSorley and Taylor suffered from having terrible supporting casts. Moore's time will come for sure. But today, the best player in the Big Ten won the award.
Naw, Haskins is just way better.
McSorley and Taylor suffered from having terrible supporting casts.
I get your point especially for Taylor. But you can’t and shouldn’t win on potential . It’s all about results.
Congratulations, Dwayne! Keep your foot on the gas!
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
and Michigan defensive tackle Rashan Gary picked up one.
"He has that look in his eye when it's time to start feeding the beast" UFM on EZE
Did his mom get a vote or something?
Lol right!? Who the hell is voting for Rashan Gary!?!?
Same type of person who voted for Shea Patterson and Chase Winovich for 2nd place... Really?
Chase Winovich, winner of the 2018 Pantene-L'Oreal Best Hair trophy.
My aim, then, is to whip the Weasels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom. - William Tecumseh Sherman (with apologies)
Dwayne topped Michigan (again) by outscoring all four of their vote-getters together.
I hate Michigan a little bit more every day.
They need to make this vote public lol
I'd say the lone vote for Gary gives us some idea who voted for who. I'm sure that booger eating voter was bitterly disappointed Gary didn't win.
PG <3 PG
Gary was also "short by this much..." from his view.
I mean I might have voted for him for a 3rd place vote if he didn't miss half the season
"I feel ready for whatever awaits me on the other side. I don’t fear adversity. I don’t fear the spotlight. I don’t fear success. And I don’t fear failure." - Braxton Miller
Could be a brilliant job of trolling by Coach Meyer. Not helping to give a competitive vote for a legit player, but instead leaving the fool on a one vote island available for mockery.
From the looks of it, a smashing success. ;-)
Despite the high cost of living, it still remains popular.
I LOVE the way you think!
Well deserved. What's with the voting though? Only five first-place votes out of 13? And aren't there 14 coaches?
AKA the Horseshoe, the Shoe, and the House That Harley Built
Coaches can't vote for their own players, so that still means 7 other ballots didn't include Haskins at all. 4 ballots were submitted before last Saturday and none had him on it, which is still absurd.
Absurd indeed to not account for the final regular season game.
That's the puzzler for me - - how could half the coaches think there were at least 2 better players in the conference???
North until you smell it, west until you step in it
Whoever turned in their vote before the final game, should have their voting privilege revoked.
Maybe you can't vote for your own player? Just guessing, but that would make the max first place votes 13 for a given player. The table above does have 14 total votes.
Yes, but coaches cannot vote for their own player.
It's reassuring to see that the voting is not a group think, like the Heisman, where's it's decided ahead of time who should be crowned.
The early ballots missed out on the Michi game as well.
Impressive. But how Rashan gets a vote is beyond me; he's overrated.
"Ice! It's in my veins!" - D'Angelo Russell
How 4 _ichigan players in all can be at the top of the list of players in all of the B1G escapes me. Who is voting?!?
Life is full of choices. Make good ones.
And no votes For Nick Bosa

Heisenberg is an automatic +1.
I want a fall Saturday in Ohio Stadium..
Boom! So there is still reason and common sense out there.
So I guess those reports that none of the early votes were for Haskins didn’t end up mattering.
well deserved, Simba.

Great for Dwayne.
The other votes are puzzling. Sure, they are great players, but Dwayne has owned the world apart from one game.
"We get paid to score touchdowns, not kick field goals"
-- Urban Meyer
Hoping he thanks Don Brown during his acceptance speech...
"Thank you Don. For running basic stuff with slow players that I had clocked from early Monday morning when we started prepping for Michigan. Thank you for being the second most overrated coach on the field that fateful Saturday. Above all else, thank you for believing you had even a modicum of a chance. Without you, this might not be possible."
Proudly dispensing unbridled arrogance since 1983.
I can think of no good reason why Young Simba didn't get a majority of the votes. When a player bests multiple conference records, including one set by a future NFL Hall of Famer...it is pretty clear that he's your conference's best player.
The fact that he only appeared as 1st place for 5 out of 13 (Urban excluded) coaches and 2nd for only one coach is absurd. That means SEVEN B1G coaches felt he wasn't one of the top 2 players in the conference. What.the.fuck.
Probably the coaches in the western division. Didn't have to face him. Or no tv. One or the other
I get that, but like...they see the B1G POTW each week right? Or watch the news? Or watch tape? Or talk to people outside the walls of their building? Or hear about broken school and conference records? I guess I could keep going. Baffling.
Are we really complaining that he didn’t get enough votes for an award that was won?
Not really sure that questioning where some B1G head coaches placed their brains for a vote is "complaining". I'd put it more into a "conversation driver" category but shoot your shot dude.
Don't see any complaints... more so just valid inquiries for justification.
Hell, I'm still sending out mailers to my congressmen about how Jabrill Peppers ever got a seat in NYC for the Heisman Presentation, meanwhile Haskins could potentially be watching this year's show from his comfy campus abode.
"...and when we win the game, we'll buy a keg of booze. And we'll drink to old Ohio till we wobble in our shoes."
If "Team X" isn't on the schedule I would be PISSED if my coach spent anytime watching film on them. Coaches are much different than fans. They don't get caught up in minutiae and they sure as hell don't have time to watch highlights of a team they aren't going to play.
Michigan State levels of disrespect.
This is definitely where I parked my car.
I think there is also a bit of Ohio State fatigue going on. Look at the number of times in the past 10 years a Buckeye has won it. Right or wrong there will be those who don't vote with their brain but rather with emotion.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
Could be about recruiting. The last three quarterbacks to win were all Buckeyes and that can't be good in head to head competition for a high school thrower. Coaches are not identified by vote and so they can hide how they voted and throw, for example a 1st place to Devin Bush and a 2nd to Rashan Gary knowing neither is going to win and I would be amazed if Harbaugh voted for Haskins; I mean it's the only way he could beat him.
Never place a bet on anything that can talk.
I mean i maybe understand the Jonathan Taylor getting some love because he is a 2k yard back and that doesn't grow on trees but some of the others are head scratchers to me as far as 1st place votes. I mean. Devin Bush is the leader of the number 1 defense....so ...ok?... I'm just trying to understand the logic of McSorely and Rondale Moore and Gary....oh well...
McSorley is a good QB, but since he and Haskins play the same position, it's very easy to make a comoarison to see who is #1 and who is #2.
Agreed ... I’m just not a McSorely fan. He’s scrappy but at some point you gotta make big plays in big games. He just doesn’t.
Great college player I have a lot of respect for him but to mention him I in the same sentence Haskins as a quarterback is blasphemy. Best player in the Big Ten is even more Ludicrous
I Hate Michigan.
13 voters, and SEVEN of them did not put him in 1st or 2nd place?!
Haskins probably put on a clinic on those 7 voters
Much deserved honor, well done D-Train!
Shandy is not beer
Thinking Rondale might have received Urban's vote.
The Browns are back in contention for being the worst franchise in all of professional sport.
My thought too.
How the hell did Truck Stop Fabio get a vote?
Did he have one really good conference game, and that coach couldn't see anything else?
Okay... So the only thing I can fathom is that the SEVEN who omitted Dwayne from their ballot include the three teams we did not play this year and probably didn't observe him first hand or closely on film... And Brohm, who justified it because they beat us... That still leaves three other coaches... Harbaugh out of pure spite I am sure. Then two other incompetent coaches. Just crazy to think someone would vote two players ahead of Haskins. Crazy.
Walter Camp who?
Nothing cleanses the soul like a no call pass interference.
Winners by School:
Surprised MSU only has 3
Very surprising that no Buckeye won between 55 and 73, especially with the 1968-70 run. Perhaps those great teams were just too balanced and split the vote?
Archie won the Heisman in 1975
"Hit them hard and see how they fall"
Very surprising that no Buckeye won between 55 and 73, especially with the 1968-70 run. Perhaps those great teams were just too balanced and split the vote?
Interesting point -- also the early 60s run with Bob Ferguson, Paul Warfield et al. Ferguson was runner-up to the Heisman in '61 and won the maxwell award. Silver Football went to Sandy Stephens from Minnesota, who was fourth in Heisman balloting that year. Minnesota went to the Rose Bowl and Stephens was the QB for that team, but it should be noted that 1961 is the year where OSU famously (infamously) voted to turn down the rose bowl. OSU was 8-0-1 that year and won the FWAA National Championship (put 50 up on UM that year).
'68, '69 and '70 Silver Football Award went to Ron Johnson (UM), Mike Phipps (Purdue) and Mike Adamle (NW), respectively.
Ron Johnson was a senior in '68 (as opposed to OSU's super sophs) and had a pretty dominant year, including setting the NCAA individual game rushing record. Mike Phipps was runner-up for the Heisman in '69. Mike Adamle was an all-american and seemed to have a pretty solid year (leading rusher in Big Ten; NW was runner up with UM to OSU). In 1970, Stillwagon won the Outland Award; Tatum was all american. Rex Kern was 5th in heisman. Brockington led BIg Ten in scoring and was the first Big Ten player drafted. Perhaps the Buckeyes split the vote as you said.
Iowa with 10? Did that many Ferentz's play football at Iowa?
I don't give a damn for the whole state of Xichigan.
Jack Park watch your back!
Congratulations to Dwayne Haskins!
Thoughts - Only 6 out of 14 people voted for Haskins, SMH! Gary got a first place vote - haha!.
Earned. Deserved. End.
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
Somebody thinks John Bachie is the second-best player in the Big Ten. My god...
"The height of human desire is what wins, whether it's on Normandy Beach or in Ohio Stadium." -Wayne Woodrow Hayes
Shea Patterson too.
They're all chickens. The rooster has sex with all of them.
0 first place votes for the two girls from Michigan
Bush's two votes must have been submitted before last Saturday's game. Either that or the voters got confused with a new category of "Most Likely to get away with Targeting."
Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
Jaylon Smith wrapped up that award against the Saints last night. He actually got away with it twice.
Wow, how about it? I hate to use the word "dirty" in football as it's a physical sport, but the hit on Kamara was dirty.
Is that the ND linebacker who got his knee shredded in a bowl game?
Born and bred a Buckeye - Buckeye 'til I die
Yeah. He was playing dirty as hell against the Saints.
I’m surprised! Go Haskins!
Well deserved. I am guessing one of Moore's votes came from Meyer.
Congratulations Dwayne. You had an outstanding year and finished strong. Now let's attack these last 2 games.
One more year!! One more year!!
Right end result, but what a flawed process. They should make the votes public - that would expose the lunacy. Congrats, Dwayne!
who in the hell voted for McSorley over Haskins...that's just stupid.
"I don't want to be around average, why be around average!" -UFM
Congratulations to Dwayne! Well deserved.
Not surprised to see Michigan defensive players get acknowledged by both the B1G and Chicago Tribune. They did and still do have the best defense in the country. Makes what Dwayne did special. Ultimately it's a tip of the cap to Dwayne for a great achievement.
Three of the top nine from the defense that the Bucks just smoked for 62!!! OH - IO!!!! Go Bucks!!!!
Someone voted Gary #1? what in the world...
Well deserved and not really any surprise. 5-2 is a landslide win, as is 11-8 in overall voting.
The vote count is ridiculous.......The HATE is real. He should have garnered all of the votes. IMHO
I Still Laugh at Miami Fans Who Can't Let Go of That Pass Interference Call
The only good thing about The Game is winning it - Urban Meyer
Gary got a vote? And only 6 of 13 coaches had Haskins on their ballot? Further evidence there should never be anonymous voting anywhere anytime,.Voters ought to be accountable.
So Urban def voted for Rondale right? Or Mcsorely? I'd imagine he'd vote for the guys that gave us fits.
Uh...I think he needs another season of ...uh...seasoning....yeah, that’s it....seasoning
It seems some of these are for Buckeye envy.
How the shit did Rashan Gary get a vote? Even Michogan fans are complaining that he did nothing all year.
We can't stop here; this is bat country...
great job, Mister Haskins!
It seems the best of both worlds: Simba gets the trophy and gets to keep a chip on his shoulder as well. I'd be telling him that Pat Fitzgerald left him off of his ballot.
Just gotta enjoy the moment.
Congrats Mr Haskins!
Seriously how in the hell can Haskins only get 6 votes out of the possible 13 he could get?!?! Probably the same reason no one named Tressel or Meyer has won a B1G coach of the year. Are the buckeyes seriously hated this much by the rest of the coaches in this conference??? Dude has the best passing season in the HISTORY of this conference breaking numerous records and Mcsorley has 1800 yards less, 26 less tds and finished 8th in the conference in passer rating and got 2 1st place votes and 4 2nds! This is exactly why coaches shouldn't be allowed to vote in this shit! The ONLY other players that even deserved any votes were Taylor and Moore with their monster years!
Here's to being the Yankees of the B1G!
Pain heals, chicks dig scars, glory lasts forever
Im happy for Dwayne, but i think this would have been Bosa's trophy if not injured
