His hands are improved, and some of his numbers even suggest that he's more explosive than Ginn was. His top end gear is unreal.
This is what I was referring to. These are numbers before this season - would be interesting to add in this season's numbers, as well as look at some other metrics, too.
Ted Ginn 4 plays from scrimmage of 40+ yards in 62 touches
Parris Campbell 4 plays from scrimmage of 40+ yards in 50 touches

Not on the football field. Ginn is the fastest player I've ever seen on the field, college or NFL.
My dad was recently diagnosed with cancer. Don't feel bad for us, it's treatable but we had to spend this week at Riverside. I came down to watch the Game with him and the nurses probably thought we were getting stabbed from all the screaming coming from our room during his insane 78 yard touchdown "catch".
The last time I saw a buckeye outrun an entire Michigan defense was, well, I guess it happens all the time.
High and tight boo boo
Warm thoughts on your father's recovery...Parris Campbell fast, GT.
Tell you Dad to kick cancer ass like the Buckeyes kicked TTUN’s ass.
Just posting and hoping my comment isn’t deleted.
Hope and soul I appreciate your kind words. Understand that a 70 year old Vietnam vet does not listen to his kids. That's why I know he can beat this.
He'll drop 62 on it, easily.
Proudly dispensing unbridled arrogance since 1983.
I thought the same thing as he pulled away from that hapless, defeated Wolverine.
Lifetime vs. UM: L 8-1, C 7-0, T 4-0
My thought after Campbell's run catch:
I mean, he's so fast, he makes fast people look not fast.
Pray for potatoes with a hoe in your hand.
I get it; he's fast.
"I am El Guapo...the handsome one."
Campbell around the end was awesome but that little screen where he bobbed and weaved through the TTUN D for a first down was very Ginn like.
Yep that too. Old school* Buckeye shift.
*Ted Ginn = Old school. Holy crap.
Good call SP. That play brought some life into the crowd/offense as well.
This is exactly what I told my dad!
Buckeye Til I Die
I recall Campbell getting caught from behind on a kick return vs. Indiana a couple years ago.
I don't recall Ginn getting caught from behind, ever.
Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.
Parris is very fast. Teddy is extremely fast. I still think Joey Galloway was the fastest.
You win with people.
And so forth...
9 Units Strong!
You are correct
Nah, he's really fast but not Ginn fast. Ginn would get a step on you and defenses just said fuck it lol
I'm virtually certain we never got hard numbers on Ginn because he hurt his foot in the bowl game and didn't run at the combine.
He did run at the combine at the combine but everyone knew he wasn't 100%. Believe he still ran in the 4.3s which is insane. Probably would hold the record if not for his injury.
He didn't run at the combine. He did a private workout and ran in the 4.3's. You were correct in that they acknowledged he wasn't 100%.
"Great moments are born from great opportunities." - Herb Brooks
He didn't run at the combine. He ran a 4.38 or so at a private workout. He was not healthy for Pro Day either.
EDIT- beat me to it.
Exactly. Never ran at the combine nor the OSU pro day. We were certainly robbed of seeing that.
Is it Jameson Williams who Hartline and Meyer both compared to Ginn...?
You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton
Yes. Williams has run a 100m in the 10.5 range.
He has that top-end speed where it looks like the defenders gave up chasing him...but 100% didn't. Ginn is the last Buckeye that had that...
Yeah it is crazy how bad he burned the defender on the 78 yarder. The guy looked like he had the angle then BAM Parris hit the gas and was five yards ahead of him.
PG <3 PG
Ted Ginn was just a bit faster. Parris Campbell is better, however, than Ginn at getting 3-4 yards on plays that aren't going anywhere. Also, Campbell appears to have higher upside at the NFL level as a route runner.
The fact that you having this conversation tells you just how electric that kid is.
It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running.
He's probably a mid to late 2nd round pick.
The thing that separated Ginn from like, EVERYBODY, was his top end speed and how quickly he got to that top end speed. Parris is at least in the same league, and that is saying an awful lot. I think Paris has a bit better power in his lower body, whereas Ginn was a bit more elusive in open space.
Man, now I gotta go watch that youtube video of Ginn highlights, the one with "Black Betty" playing.
Isn't Chris Olave the fastest guy on the team right now? I thought I read that. If so, good times ahead.
I said touchdown on the jet sweep "pass" when Campbell was even with the UM defender and about 60 yards from the endzone.
I heard the debate as to who's the fastest on the team was mostly between Sheffield and Campbell. Teddy had a unique stride that separated him from the rest which no doubt was a result of him also being a state champion in the 110 high hurdles in high school. Parris was also a star track athlete in the 100m and 200m. His mechanics are so incredibly smooth and smooth is always fast. He was off the gas at 20 and coasted in the rest of the way. And keep in mind I think he just turned 17 when he arrived on campus.
Is that a pass or a run though? The spoon makes it confusing.
That run by Paris was jaw dropping. He took three strides after turning the corner and absolutely torched the field. I was disappointed when he pulled up the last few yards...lol.
"Most Noahs have two of everything, he's got four tonight" - Gus Johnson on Noah Brown's 4 TD catches against Oklahoma.
And no UM defenders ever touched him. Campbell touch our guy #13 in the back and then beep beep was gone!!!!
Teddy Ginn still outruns most people in the NFL 12 years into his career. Dude is crazy.
