Roll, Bucks, roll.
Obviously not the same level of competition as earlier in the week, but I’ll take an easy win.
Looked good across the board today with the exception of some sloppy turnovers. Either way, a win is a win and a 5 time BINGO!!!
IP, I don't know why, but I could not find your game thread on 11W. Looked several times, refreshing, refreshing, etc. Nada.
So at 2:03pm I launched a Forum Post/Thread. Didn't know you had one till after the game. Sorry I missed it. Next time I'll look up your account to see.
Anyway, glad the Bucks won and looked good.
Our honor defend, so we'll fight to the end !
All good bro...got you covered...
This is what was missing from the basketbucks last couple years under Matta. Crushing lower competition and winning games you're supposed to win. Love seeing how far (back) Holtmann has this program already. Now, don't get me wrong. I still Love Thad. Always will. It's just that some things can't last forever.
I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.
I Believe In Ohio State.
Crushing lower competition... football team should be taking notes
Football team has no defense......
Saban on a cart eating cold pizza
"South Carolina State..and the Buckeyes stout defense."
Please, please Coach Holtmann please you & Urbz have a "pre-practice defense jam clinic" before EVERY practice of this Hammer #ichigan week !
I dv this comment because it's stupid. Comparing coaches from different sports is obviously coming from someone who didn't play sports... Or sat the bench on the JV team
Love couch potato coaches
Upvoted to counter the downvote.
Buckeye fan in the heart of Badger territory.
Kaleb looks to be finding the range from beyond the arc. An unexpected plus, and something that I had hoped Potter would add to the mix.
All progress has resulted from people who took unpopular positions. -Adlai Stevenson, governor, US ambassador
Really excited about this team, I love the new additions and how they play. That block followed by the alley oop has me really intrigued to see it hoping I can find it somewhere to watch
Handled their biz, today
One man's trash, is another man's treasure
Impressed with OSU freshmen: 16 of 27 FG (59%), 10-13 FT's (77%), 12 rebounds, 6 assists.
OK, not the best opponent, but Free Throws!
They gotta play to get better, sitting on the bench doesn't do anyone any good. Props to Holtman for going with the best players whether the upper classmen like it or not.
MICHIGAN STILL SUCKS
Taking care of business, giving effort when it would be natural to mail it in. This team just continues to endear itself to the fans. Would love to see a few more of them show up.
Also saw continued growth from Andre today. His athleticism has really increased with his improved conditioning.
Question. Since I could not get B10Plus to see the game did Woods get his normal time on the court? Asking since his game stats seemed somewhat below his norm. Thanks for any clarity.
Woods played just 14 minutes, probably due to blowout. See stats here. Scroll down for stats.
Holtmann said after the game that Woods was dealing with a stomach bug.
Woods was dealing with a stomach bug.
Dang bug crawling through the lineup.
Hope everyone's healthy for Syracuse.
"Kaleb Wesson was the star of the first half, scoring 17 points to lead all players, including three three-pointers."
If the big guy can stretch a defense like that, this team could really become a threat in the BIG 10....
I love that all 5 guys on the floor, and any time, can shoot from outside. Really makes us hard to defend. No to mention minimize any shooting slumps, as opposed to only 1-2 guys that can shoot having an off night. No way all 5 will be off.
Next Samford, Cleveland State, looking forward to Syracuse.
Final score was a little deceiving as the last 6 minutes was all backups and walk on. The first team absolutely dominated SCSU. They’re going to be very good
Keyshawn Woods and CJ Jackson are probably our two top shooters and they combined for 7 points today and we were still able to dominate (albeit an inferior opponent) by 30 points due in large part to the likes of the Wesson bros and the bench. That is amazing if you think about it.
It's about developing the younger guys so they can step up when called upon in conference play.
Great games from all 4 Freshmen and the Wesson brothers today. The overall intensity dropped off quite a bit in the 2nd half, but that happens when the game is at hand, especially from a young team.
I still think a 3 guard starting lineup is coming soon. It was the 4th game in a row with a very sluggish start (up only 8-6 at the under 16 min timeout). The offense just has much better flow with 3 guards along with some kind of combo of Andre, KY, Kaleb, and Ledee at the 4 and 5 spots.
I hate to nitpick with a 28pt win, but eventually these slow starts to the game are going to hurt us.
I play, coach stays. He goes, I go.
I beg to differ. Keyshawn Woods coming in off the bench instead of the starting lineup would probably change his impact, same with Duane Washington. OSU has a big advantage when they sub in Woods and Washington against other teams when they sub. I think guys like Wesson and Kyle Young just need to up their game overall. They haven't been bad but the starting lineup can take it to another level of they can get a guy like Kyle Young to be more of a contributor on offense.
Maybe you are right. We will see. That's 4 games in a row where the starting offense looks somewhere in between bad to mediocre.
Obviously, we are 4-0 and I fully expect us to be 6-0 when we face Syracuse next week. But we have Cuse, Minnesota, and Illinois coming up. It would be nice to jump out to good starts in those games.
I thought I had every channel
wth is BTN plus
I cant wait for that game vs Syracuse, I have alot of Cuse grads in my family and i cant wait to talk shit=)
Buckeyes better bring their A game against the Cuse or you'll be eating that said crap....The Orange won't be a pushover...
If Cuse plays anything like they did against UConn and Oregon teams that got dominated by Iowa, then yes they will be a pushover.
Is the professor still their that always wears the jesus sandals even in in the snow? My daughter graduated in 03, bubba Clinton was the commencement speaker.
I will ask them at Thanksgiving dinner. I bet you could find a professor like that at every school. Cuse is so so far from New Joysey. it feels like its almost Canada. The natives have funny accents lol
Tough to play well against a struggling team as they tend to have bad spacing and pull a disciplined team out of theirs. Kudos to Holtman for taking care of business.
Thanks for the write up. I forgot to record the game & missed it on a road trip to pick up one of the kids from college.
You would have been recording a Penn state women's volleyball game.
I actually tried to record it via DTV app at a pit stop on the way back & saw what I thought was women’s basketball. I thought maybe it was on FS1 or a BTN alt channel. Did they really dump our game for volleyball?
It might have been women's basketball actually. It was definitely psu women's something.
The game wasn’t on BTN. It was on BTN plus.
Should make it in the Top 20 this week.
TG Proud Buckeye alumnus.
I think they might not rank us because there are a ton of Big Ten teams that are good and probably will be ranked. As in we don’t get ranked because they don’t want to put 6-7 Big Ten teams in the top 25 because they want to evenly represent conferences. Normally if they go over board with the number of teams within one conference in the 25 it is the ACC. Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Indiana (they lost but only by 1 on road to Arkansas and beast top 25 Marquette), Iowa (win over Oregon and UConn), Wisconsin, Nebraska and Maryland all are in contention with us for top 25 and all but Iowa were ranked ahead of us last week.
Win @ CINCY, Win @ Creighton, dominating wins against SCSU and IPFW(Who beat IU the last two years)....yes we should be ranked. I agree the B1G seems to be loaded this year, but still think they rank us. We are the #1 Strength of Record according to ESPN..I don't see how we are not ranked.
The thing is I never said we don’t deserve to be ranked. I said I don’t think we will be. Those are two separate things. You grasped something completely different from what I said.
Purdue took it on the chin from VT yesterday. They drop out.
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
The Buckeyes are on a run...Go Bucks!
