Not sure what we're having. We got some home made deep dish pizzas from a friend's mom last week that were EPIC!
I don't think we'll be getting anything that good this week. Maybe take out Chinese food?
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
Looking forward to some southwest bean soup with chorizo and cilantro. Got black beans and pintos sorted and ready to soak.
Mind posting that recipe? That sounds really good.
I dont really use recipes and measurements. Here is a rough version.
Pre soak black beans and pintos the night before. Rinse and simmer in venison stock that I make from my deer carcass. 3 poblanos cored and smoked for 45 minutes. Peel the skin off or it can be tough. I also smoke some chorizo sausages, garlic and onion. Fry up a lb of ground chorizo and drain. Soak up extra grease with a paper towel. Cube the whole sausages, onion and poblanos. Dice several jalapenos and minced smoked garlic. Add all to the pot with some celery. Add a healthy amount of cayane, coarse black pepper, and thyme. Let summer for 2 hours, add some fresh or frozen corn and a good amount of chopped cilantro. Simmer another hour. Garnish with more cilantro. If I have time I will do some cornbread in cast iron and put it in a high heat smoker. Mix in poblanos and cheddar cheese to make it tastier.
Almost forgot. I also add a couple diced tomatoes, and a can of tomato paste
Brooklyn Brewing IPA
Life long fan of... The!
Big Lake Blood Orange IPAs ...and crackers. Saving myself for Thursday
I Hate Michigan.
Kickoff is 10:00 am Montana time... thus it's a brunch game!
Chicken & Waffle skewers with Sriracha Maple Syrup
Bloody Mary Bar
Glad someone else knows how to do chicken and waffles the right way! spicy! Im in the homeland of Ohio and I get shamed for my chicken and waffles obsession. and the whole syrup, franks red hot and Ranch on the chicken occasionally.
I was voluntold by my sister that we were having Thanksgiving at our house this year. That means no gameday meals for me this week, maybe some leftover pizza if I'm lucky. I typically deep fry turkeys for people, so we have to get things done this weekend because Wed afternoon and Thurs morning are already blocked off. And now I have to stay somewhat sober on Thurs morning since everyone is coming to my house and I have to be welcoming and polite. That puts a cramp in our deep frying tradition.
Probably pancakes and coffee again since it's a 9a start here. Heading up the hill to Lake Tahoe right after for a long weekend to escape the smoke down here in the Bay.
Maybe some chicken wings on the kamado on Friday night.
Try the brown sugar and allspice this time!
Safe travels buddy!
How Firm Thy Friendship...Oh-Hi-Oh
That's right, thanks for the reminder.
Hope the sweet 16 party last weekend went well.
NP, enjoy; It was fun, got to see some family that we don't see very often, and then dominate some Hoggy's.
Be safe, stay healthy!
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
That works for all folks out west.
We’re having Italian beef sandwiches, devils on horseback, probably some sort of French fry, bloody Mary’s and/or copious IPAs (probably Phantasmagoria by Prairie Artisan Ales but I’m hoping the BIL comes through on a hidden stash of Pliny) and I’m making a cherry cheesecake.
I'm actually driving Saturday so will miss watching the game but will try and find a radio station. As for food, not cooking anything but will hit up my favorite wing joint ive ever been to. Small local hole in the wall place but they get their chicken locally only and they are just perfect. So ill be having a gut-busting-bunch of those juicy suckers washed down with a few brews (then pass off the keys to my wife to drive the rest of the way! Drink Wisconsinbly!!!)
That broccoli soup sounds great, and i may steal that recipe and give it a go now that winter is here to stay
I'm going a little light for this game with just pizza. Been on a Blue Moon kick lately and it will probably continue for this game.
Had plenty of Blue Moons and Budweisers on mug night at the Out-R-Inn. Best way to spend a Sunday night on campus.
