Lord I hope not (Bama losing). Even if we don't have a shot at getting in I'd lose my shit if another 2 SEC teams make it.
That's a good one
Probably because LSU isn't as good as their record would indicate.

watched more than a couple of their games. Maybe they're not as good as some think - they just seem to find a way.

Apparently not to the endzone, though.
Toughest defense Bama has seen all season, but LSU's O Line got destroyed last night. FWIW - analytics had that game nailed.
Historical POV on @AlabamaFTBL as 2TD fave: in matchups of Top4 teams in AP poll era (since 35) there have been ONLY 6 ROAD favorites of more than a FG. Those 6 (all ranked #1) LOST 5 of the 6 outright! Strange but true. An omen? Or nah? One exception: Gators win at LSU 09

Ought to be an entertaining game. Geaux Joe B!

Entertaining game. Red Raiders were so close.
So I'll be getting off work in a couple of hours, and I'm back at work tonight at 7 as well. So here's my plan; the DVR is already set, I'm going to wake up at 3:30 and check the score on my phone. If the score looks like a game I want to watch, then I'm up for the day. If it looks more on the depressing side, I guess I'll be getting a little more sleep. I anticipate sleeping about 6 hours today.
If it was me and I checked the score and it was depressing, I know I wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep. But don’t worry:
Yeah I thought about that possibility of having trouble sleeping, in which case I'll just stay up and watch PSU at ttun.
Our Bucks deep fry the Huskers in corn oil. Haskins throws for well over 300 and comes out the middle of the 3rd quarter.
Send the Earth Reverberating
I'd rather the RB have 300+ and give way to the freshmen in the 3rd
Oh I’d be OK with that too.
still skeptical about OSU fixing all their glaring problems they've had in a bye week that they couldn't in 8...i truly hope i'm wrong...GO BUCKS!!
We should still crush them regardless. Next Saturday will be the test of whether we truly fixed anything.
I think we will know come about half time whether the issues are about Jimmies, Joes and X's and O's or something else.
Too much time spent at the North Heidelberg rather than the classroom. SSD 68-72
Making adjustments during the season is easier said than done. It’s like seeing three warning lights come on your dashboard and trying to figure out what’s wrong while the car is still moving. The bye week is an opportunity to pull over, assess the problem and get it fixed.
P.S. the warning light analogy actually happened to my wife and me last Saturday as we were driving to Chicago. I looked at the dash and three lights were on! We went from fine to freaked out in seconds. Should we pull over? Should we ignore them and keep going? What does the manual say? I don’t fucking know! Fortunately, we were only 10 miles from Iowa City. We found a Midas and a quick diagnosis determined that the VSC light had inexplicably gone on and that had tripped the other two. Problem fixed, crisis averted, trip back on but not without some unwanted anxiety.
Love to see Georgia lose. Who wouldn't want to see Kentucky win the SEC? That would be epic.
I'm not trying to win a popularity contest. I'm trying to win football games-- Woody Hayes
Alabama would destroy Kentucky.
Not so fast my friend! That's what they said about the 2009 Sugar Bowl. Utah didn't have a chance against Bama but beat them 31-17. It could happen, but probably wouldn't.
We’re big Survivor fans and every season there’s a weak player that all the stronger contestants don’t want to vote off because they want to take him or her to the final vote because they know s/he can’t win. That’s Kentucky in the SEC this year. Tonight’s vote will go a long way toward determining their fate.
Flying a B1B is quite an honor and responsibility. There are very few jobs more difficult to get. Capt Cassidy must be one of the best in the nation! Bet his grandfather is most proud!! But the fly over is likely something that makes him proud and quite happy to do!!!
May he be safe today and throughout his career.
Beat everyone, in every sport, all the time!!!
The flyover is the coolest part of the Skully, and possibly the day. Congrats to the family no doubt.

Chapter 1 of our season is today, and should tell you a lot about the substance of this team.
I think it’s Chapter 2. The rest of the season starts now. Win Chapter 2.
I didn’t care for the ending to Chapter 1, then.
Kevin, we all wish it were a one game anomaly but the issues that blew up in that game had been present all year it is just that talent, and most games the weakness of the competition, allowed the Buckeyes to come out on top. Here's hoping the biggest issues were improved upon big time (oline woes, allowing big plays on d).
I don't buy one goddam drop of gas in the state of Michigan!
Exactly, I love the spirit of all the “it was one game!” folks like Kevin but by nature, I’m a realist. And unless we really get some stuff fixed, coaches get their act together, Urban’s headaches go away, big time 2019 recruits decide to pick OSU, national media decides not to spew negativity about OSU, and a host of other things, then we have some tough challenges ahead.
The Buckeyes just didn't "drop" the game at Purdue, the were blown out. There's a difference.A big difference.
Only 4 regular season games left. I'm going to enjoy the hell out of them.
You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton
Me too, then I plan to spend the winter watching the Basketbucks make all the prognosticators look like fools for the second year in a row.
"Bring back St John"
1. Hoping the Buckeyes lambaste the Bugeaters under sunny, cool skies.
2. The B-1 is returning home; the fuselages were built in Columbus by North American Rockwell.
Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.
Sorry to burst your bubble, Hetuck, but it's a B-2 flyover. It's one more.
B-1, B-2.... whatever it takes.
A big +1 to you Earle for the Mr. Mom reference.
Nothing for the Spinal Tap reference? C'mon, man.
My dad worked as an engineer at that North American/Rockwell plant while I was growing up, and brought home the coolest pictures and swag of various jets and missiles. And he also raised us as die-hard Buckeye fans! The Huskers will be crushed today.
Huh. And here I always thought lambaste was a special way of cooking mutton chops.
Immediate upvote here for the underrated line of the day
light-hearted post as usual, Kevin....but did you have to pile on the pressure for the good guys to win and win big? after the clusterfck of a disaster that was Purdue? The team that names itself after an engine part hasn't even been relevant. Ever. So let's not give them or anyone else any reason to potentially blow our entire already fragile psyche into the abyss of engine dust....
let's just win.
I don't think Miami scores more than thrice in this game on purpose, nor will Duke.
I keep laughing at every interpretation of this line.
Time to hit the road. It's gonna be a long one.
1200 OSU vs Nebraska in the Shoe
1530(ish) Navy @ Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium
Go Bucks! Beat Nebraska!
Go Navy! Beat the Bearcats!
Go CalfuckingPoppy, too
Lambaste the fuck out of that shit
Enjoy your tailgating and football day Navy, and have a few beers for CP and I with the other Mods that show.
Btw, I heard a rumor that Mods have a button at Dubgate where you can steal beers from users. Enjoy it!
The Beer Button is working.
I think we officially find out if this coaching staff is earning their pay in these next few weeks. Was the Purdue game just a harsh case of burnout for all involved? Or is this team destined to under achieve?
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.
Ohio State doesn't have a running back problem. Ohio State doesn't have an offensive linemen personnel problem. Do you know what that leaves as to why the Buckeyes can't run?
Coaches aren’t the ones playing soft.
Anything less than an ass kicking today is going to be unacceptable...let's get it done men!
I welcome thee, November.
Hindsight is, and in, 2020
There are times where the worst thing that can be spread is misinformation
Midway through the 3Q against Purdue, I decided I was not ready for what this site was likely to become. So I declared a Bye Week for myself and went Cold Turkey on 11W and almost entirely on OSU football. I've stayed off the site for two full weeks. (Some days that was hard) I see the Skully is still here. Did I miss anything?
Will be making a large pot of coffee and look forward to catching up - and watching the game.
I did the exact same thing!
I didn’t go cold turkey but I spent a lot less time here. It was a rough two weeks.
Absolutely no one overreacted.
Is there a sarcasm tag missing? My first UV in 2 weeks and it's yours
So I declared a Bye Week for myself and went Cold Wild Turkey
I think theres more pressure on the offense than defense going forward. We can’t afford slow starts. The defense is what it is. We need at least 40+ to win comfortably today.
My once per year top vote getter.
I expect a MUCH better game than what we saw two weeks ago in West Lafayette. One game at a time. Let’s go Bucks!
Did you push yourself to be great today?
IF you have 9 minutes, It's an interesting listen from Joel Klatt.

I don’t disagree with what hes saying...just in his position as the lead analyst on a network that covers the other conferences that he says aren’t overrated is kinda like flutie or chris Simms telling us how great ND is or Danielson telling us how great the sec is.
You’re too much, Kevin. Go back and read your Purdue gets dumped piece.
The Browns are back in contention for being the worst franchise in all of professional sport.
In its last 12 games as an underdog, Northwestern is 10-2 ATS with 7 outright wins. This includes a 4-0 ATS record with three outright wins as an underdog this season (0-4 ATS as a favorite in 2018). Going back to 2014, the Wildcats are 17-6 ATS with 13 outright wins as a dog.
— Chris Fallica (@chrisfallica) November 2, 2018
Go Wildcats! Beat the Domers!
I think this ones close through the 1st half, but could see ND pulling away in the 2nd.
Homefield at night has got to help the Nerds. If this game were in South Bend, I wouldn't give them much of a chance at all.
Glorious slate of games all day and all night, into the wee hours. Best of the year since Memorial Day weekend ended the journey through the offseason desert. Happy Football Saturday!
I was certainly aware of the Dortmund bombing story, but had never heard what the story was behind it. How disappointing to read what it really was, maybe even more so than if it had really been the Islamic State.
Buckeyes come out like their hair is on fire and wax the Children of the Corn, and Pat the Cat leads Northwestern to a win over ND while Joe Burreaux sneaks a win over Bama. I like it.
Seriously, though. Keep Prince on the bench. He's a sieve.
I gotta admit, I wish I was at the Shoe today just to see Hopalong's grandson fly the B-2 over the stadium. That would be freaking awesome to see.
"I find your lack of kalua disturbing" - Darth Lebowski
Double post edit: Im tired of being angry at Urban. Can we just win big today? Im kind of over all this TBH.
Alabama is going to destroy LSU.
Get dumped then Huskers. Go Bucks.
You can write all the scripts for people you want, it doesn't mean they're going to take direction.
Let's recap: The grandson of one of Ohio State's earliest Heisman Trophy winners is taking a break from his day job flying the most sophisticated bomber in the world to perform a flyover in the skies above the field his grandfather used to own.
Legend. Legacy. Leaders.
Go Bucks. Shuck COC.
I am not very smart, but I recognize that I'm not very smart. --- W.W. Hayes
If any of you watch game day like I do (between flipping to food network and HGTV) has anyone noticed that Herbstreit has absolutely zero niceties to say on THE OHIO STATE. As a matter of fact it seems like the only former player that pokes his chest out about suiting up for the Buckeyes is Chris Carter! It kinda pisses me off to be honest with you. Zeke? Bosa? Lattimore? Conely? Can't cover Mike? Eddie George? You name the former player not a single one gives props the Biggest one talking didn't even Go to college at all and that's Labron James. Maybe it's just me
NONE are more hopelessly Enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free!
Meh. I don't care. The only talking I pay attention to is what the team says on the field.
I would tend to agree but Meh it'd be nice to see/hear Alumni talk some trash once in awhile
Re: the WMD about the pilot who blew 10x over the legal limit, how is it possible that a breathalyzer test isn't mandatory for anyone who's a position like that? And not just pilots but surgeons, bus drivers, limo drivers, virtually anyone that the public not only blindly puts its trust (not to mention our lives) in a complete stranger but also the company that employs him or her. If that bus driver hadn't smelled alcohol on the guy's breath, I cringe thinking what might've happened if one of the crew hadn't spoken up.
I think it’s time to retire the whole death machine talk for this program right now. It was entertaining in 2014 and was based in truth. Opponents are not afraid of taking on Ohio state right now. I hope urban does what he needs to do to fix it.
