Good write up thanks excited for the cincy kids. Only got one question. If we were recruiting Powell for defense, how does it affect the wrs you mentioned we are recruiting moving forward? Thanks again!!!

Totally my fault. My brain was thinking one thing while my hands typed another. I've updated the list. Thanks for the catch!

It would be outstanding to lock down both of the Princeton kids.

I hope it’s not some voodoo foreshadowing that you didn’t include Wandale Robinson in your list of remaining 2019 WR targets.

So, aside from excluding Robinson from the WR group, since Powell was being recruited by Ohio State as a defensive back, why was the list of WRs even provided? Shouldn't there have been a list of the DBs we're after since Powell's chosen not to be one of them?

Gotta get those Cincy kids! Cant let guys like that slip through your fingers and go to a rival in the B1G!

Hey Derrick, you somehow omitted Robinson from the list of WRs to target

I'm confused about Powell's recruitment. Ohio State recruited him as a DB, but then the article says since they missed on him, the focus now becomes other receivers. Why not recruit Powell as a WR if now you are focused on other WR's as a result of missing on Powell?

If we also need WRs in this class, why not recruit Powell as a WR since he clearly wants to play on the offensive side of the ball in college? Then, if the staff decides he best fits at DB, convert him there like we did with Cameron Brown.

It's a beautiful day in Columbus, Ohio... and TTUN still sucks.

It’s time for Urban to speak on all the national talk about his health and his future.  Why would any big time recruit sign right now?

I disagree. Personally, I believe Urban's credibility is at an all-time low. From how he mismanaged the Zach & Courtney Smith matter to blatantly lying at B1G Media Days to his sullen disinterest at the presser announcing his suspension to his clumsy, ham-handed attempt to apologize to Courtney Smith after-the-fact to his nightmarish interview with Tom Rinaldi to the issues with headaches caused by this cyst and most lately his negative energy/body language on the sideline (come on, Urban, did you have to do the Surrender Cobra on national TV?), I think he needs to lay low right now and focus on refinding positive energy and revitalizing his team. Because no matter what he says, no one's going to believe him. That's how bad it is. Getting his team back to kicking inferior teams' asses will speak louder than anything for him.

P.S. I hate to be "that guy" but re: your signature: Why the hell do I have to keep seeing Wint give up big plays?  Is Are our defensive coaches fucking blind???

IB...I believe your use of the term "blatantly'' is overkill and irresponsible in referring to Urban's presser at the Media Days . I respectively refer you to the 11W article from Jason dated Aug 10th  and aptly named Fact Check: Did Urban Lie.  He did later apologize for not "handling the questions  accurately and it was not my intention to say anything inaccurate or  misleading". Since the word  'blatantly'  is defined as " in a completely obvious and unsubtle way"  just isn't applicable in this case.  But perhaps the use of that adverb is simply a result of your anger (and mine) that has yet to subside after the loss to the Boilers  ;)

It's not overkill nor irresponsible. What would you call it: selective retention? A memory lapse? Early onset dementia? A little white lie? Had he answered the question truthfully, the whole thing might have gone in a completely different direction. As soon as I heard he said he knew nothing, I knew some journalist would start digging. I got a degree in journalism from Ohio State and I was taught in JR101 to take nothing at face value. So Brett McMurphy took up the challenge and eventually the whole thing spun out of conrol. And it started with Urban not being forthright and honest. So, yeah, in my opinion, because he had information that he denied having, he lied.

But on top of that, I personally believe he lied in the Rinaldi interview him and he said he didn't know what Shelley knew/knows. Come on. Does anyone honestly believe she kept everything Courtney Smith told her to herself? The committee's report, which came out prior to the interview with Rinaldi, cast doubt on Urban and Shelley's claim that she withheld information. If there was a personal issue with someone I manage and my wife somehow learned about it before I did, you can be damned sure she would tell me everything she knew. Because that's what spouses do. And I don't have anywhere near the income or visibility or public image that Urban Meyer does that my wife would need to protect the way that Shelley does. If you are or ever were married, do/did you and your spouse practice "don't ask, don't tell" by keeping your professional lives so off limits that you never brought them home?

Recruiting will probably take a big hit this year, relative to the usual standards and results of the program.  The suspension, Bosa quitting the team, and another blow-out loss to an inferior opponent.  For a program like Ohio State, these things matter.   Because when you're at this level, most people look for the flaws and weaknesses.  The price you pay for being and wanting to be the best.
