Hamilton's was on him, and only him. We weren't in a punt block call there. Stupid play by the player.
But the penalties are absolutely killing us. 3 times a major penalty extended a drive on 3rd or 4th down and resulted in a TD. I believe we had (10) penalties and (3) that were declined. That's (13) penalties. And much of the time, it's the veteran players. The penalties not being fixed is on Meyer.
Yep, I don't know what irritates me more... the *ichigan hype machine, or Meyer's penalty machine. I don't anticipate much improvement there, as Meyer has said several times, and as recently as last week, that he's, "Not a guy who gets too upset about penalties." Penalties, at times, are unavoidable, especially when a guy is giving full effort, but Meyer's teams have too many, and the 2018 team is really bad in that regard.
When I die, sprinkle my ashes over the 70's
I can understand not getting overly worked up about the 5yd varieties, but FFS those 15yd penalties are back breakers, how he can not get upset about those is beyond me.
Shandy is not beer
I highly doubt Urban told the DT to cartwheel into the punter. OSU actually had a normal defense out there on that play in case of a fake punt. Awareness by the player was definitely an issue which can be traced back to coaching, but he definitely wasn't supposed to be going after this kicker on that play.
LOL! Yeah that was such a boneheaded play by Hamilton.
And I doubt that Urban is going to stop coming after the punter completely. The punt block was a big part of our win against PSU last season.

Thanks Barf... shot a sunflower seed out of my nose while briefly giggling after reading that one
62 - 39 = 7 consecutive
My thought is this, if the guys rushing the punter have shown they don't have the technique to properly execute, then play protect and give the returner a chance to bring it back.
Urban Meyer left an incredible legacy. 12/4/18 Ryan Day begins his.

New Day for OSU. Same noon for TTUN.
Pleease oh wise one. Tell me what is wrong with this thread. Is it too confusing? Is it out of bounds or inappropriate? Tell me what is wrong with this thread, i really need to know sage992.
You spelled fuck wrong, but other than that, seems alright to me.
Nothing, man! Every thought needs an audience. I'm glad you're getting all yours out there. Just disappointment people keep voting them out of existence.
I think what he, and others here, really mean to say is they appreciate you posting - but lead the discussion. You just have a comment here, that could go in just about any new/recent post in the OSU forum.
What I'm suggesting, is get specific - references from other games/teams, etc. Throw in some details to go with your comment/opinion:
"Meyer's obsession with (going after) punting really hurt the team"
I get it. Now back it up:
"...because the Buckeyes have been so undisciplined with penalties, because it puts the defense further back on their heels, because it kept their crowd in the game..."
And so on.
Hit us with the intel, keep posting.
I'm not around that much, running exhausted and lost...
Urban in every pre punt huddle
I'm over the penalties. It's gotten so bad that I now expect a penalty on every single fucking play.
And I get why Urban goes after punters. He's only lost 1 game in his entire career where his team blocked a punt. A blocked punt ignites the team and thats what he was hoping for. We just screwed it up, twice.

Why is a tackle on the punt team in the first place and especially bull rushing the punter.
Well we are the countries punching bag this year....thanks Zack and Urbs. Ugly defense, mistakes all over the field and terrible loss just made us the nations laughing stock. Hoping this is rock bottom. If not, God help us all.
Coach Drone at it again folks
Every day it seems.
A wise sweater-vested man once said: The punt is the most important play in football.
I have it on good authority that Tressel gave the TV a very stern look and shifted uncomfortably in his seat after watching Hamilton cartwheel into that punter.
Tressels defense never got gashed like this. And lost guys left and right to the NFL and just reloaded. I miss the Senator.
41-14? 35-3? 2 blowouts to his defenses come to mind immediately even 10 years later. Love me some Tressel, but the dude had some poor showings by the D on his record
I might be wrong but I believe both games our D gave up fewer total yards than they did to Purdue the other night. And those were championship caliber opponents. And those were two of the worst offensive games in OSU recent history.
