Seems a bit generous but beat the bye week.
I hate the offseason.
That’s where we should have been the whole time. I think we would have had more realistic expectations if we had fallen to TCU or PSU a few weeks ago. This team is deeply flawed.
We have way bigger problems than worrying about polls.
Nut on top
Was just gonna say, shocked we didn't drop out of top ten...
I thought 10 would have been appropriate - glad I wasn’t too off base
In case you're curious, it's Mr. Spray
Surprised we’re that high. In the mid teens seems more appropriate.
Sounds about right to me
Go get'em Cal Poppy - we are behind you !!
It's not a rivalry .............. it's a wreckoning.
I would have little confidence of beating any team in the top 20 right now.
We can't stop here; this is bat country...
Ain't that the truth... After last night, we might as well count Indiana and Minnesota as losses because they looked all the same. Big warnings that those games were.
"What have you done for me lately?"
I figured 15th. I certainly dont view this as a top 10 team right now and they honestly havent looked the part for several weeks.
if we best michigan we can get back in the discussion
I watched Ted Ginn OSU highlights during halftime. Wish I'd have just played them on loop for the entire 3.5hrs of the game.
I said last night we would drop to 9 or 10. Now it is time to grow as men and as a team.
Wow. That is ridiculously generous.
Stay golden, Ponyboy.
they really don't have a big win this year. TCU and Penn State are both deeply flawed teams too. We are probably on par with MSU and light years behind TTUN. It is going to be painful watching us get beat by 3 TDs in The Game this year.
LMAO @ Texas. WTF are those clowns ranked in top 10 when they lost at home to Maryland? The Maryland that got shut out 23-0 by one loss Iowa yesterday who isn’t even in the top 15.
As far as #9 ranking, it’s ridiculously generous to say the least.
And we lost by 4 TDs to a team that got beat by Eastern Michigan. Glass houses my dude. Glass houses.
You missed the point. That team is overrated and it has zero to do with OSU. It's more about their lofty rank in comparison to an Iowa team who too is improving week after week and has a common opponent who they SHUT OUT. As far as OU, they're no different than this Buckeye team, a crazy good QB that puts up points but no defense to be found. I would go further and say their run game is worse than OSU's as their starting RB has been out. Texas is a joke and treated the same as USC and ND. They'll keep them ranked until they lose 3 games just because.
They also beat Oklahoma, which means that their resume is much better than ours.
Right, the OU team that barely escaped Army at home. The Army that just squeaked by Miami University by one point with ZERO passing yards this past week. OU has beaten no one and they and Texas are feeding off of each others names. Both those teams would get rocked by any team with a legit defense. Any team in the Big 12 is an imposter for the playoff this year including WVU.
The fact is, they're showing improvement week to week and we are heading in the opposite direction
Gawd...I hate looking up at *ichigan!
I'd rather be an hour early than a minute late.
Get used to it. They’re on the brink of winning the B1G, making the CFP, and signing the B1G’s #1 (#2, at worst) class, including a top 5 national recruit from OSU’s backyard.
"Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed, is more important than any other one thing." - Abraham Lincoln
All the more reason to hate them. Fuggem!
LOL. #9 is way too generous. At a minimum, UF, UCF, Washington, UK, Iowa, and Wazzu deserve to be ahead of them.
Looks right. I think regardless of how the B1G shakes out no team from our conference is going to the CFP. TTUN would get pulverized by any of the top 4, same as us.
Fields of Dreams
TTUN does have a championship caliber defense. I think everyone gets pulverized by Bama, but beyond that it's a toss up. TTUN's defense can play with anyone. If they win out, they will absolutely make the playoff.
We're maybe top 15 caliber. Not a top 10 team.

Cream always rises to the top. 9 is overly generous.
Fire Schiano, Davis and Studrawa immediately and put 6 others on notice. The ZS mess would still be present if Urban's hand wasn't forced. Tom Herman is doing great.
It’s Alabama and everyone else. Texas will lose again. Notre dame is weak. Michigan is not as good as advertised. Clemson has a freshman qb.
luckily this ranking doesn't matter

Rest up and get things fixed this bye week and beat Nebraska next weekend. One week at a time boys, we still can make the big ten championship
Go Buckeyes and Go Lightning!
They haven’t fixed dick in 8 weeks. What’s so special about the next 2?
Bucks still have four games before TSUN to figure it all out and fix the mistakes. The physical gifts are there with these athletes. They just have to be there from the neck up. The penalty miscues alone were enough to sink TOSU last night.
But I also think a major shakeup is needed Monday at the WHAC. Heads have to roll; the status quo is unacceptable. Whether those heads are players and/or coaches has yet TBD.
Go Bucks. Beat Bye and Apathy.

For starters, Billy Davis needs to be dismissed immediately. I don't even care who replaces him. The OL needs personnel changes. Time to let Wyatt Davis and NPF cut their teeth. Same with Ruckert at TE, where Berry is a candidate to commit a penalty on every snap. Can't play. Would rather live with growing pains coming from Freshman with upside, at this point. Need to see Tommy T at DT way more, while we're at it.
But, Urban and his sacred cows...
But, Urban and his sacred cows...
Maybe Urban has to lose his old religion in order to see the light. ;-)
Agree completely with your assessment, RB.
Bro, none of those dudes are “game ready”.
Of those top 25 teams, how many would we beat if we played next weekend? How many would we play competitively if we played next weekend?
Onward and upward! Go Buckeyes!
how many would we beat if we played next weekend?
How many would we play competitively
Shandy is not beer
Still overrated, sadly.
Sink or swim time. Nine seems about right. These guys have some talent. You don't suddenly lose your God-given skills, you just need to prove them against the teams your playing, every team, every down. This team is not nearly motivated enough, maybe Meyer has to do what Brohm and Fleck and Allen do, get the team frothing at the mouth. Make them believe they can beat anyone. They're playing like Bruce Banner when they need to be the Incredible Hulk. I don't think they're weak or soft or even overrated. They're just not inspired and the coaches aren't bring out their best abilities. They need to talk Chris Spielman out of broadcasting and bring him in to coach linebackers. All of the coaches seem to be well versed in talking about the game and none of them, except Johnson and Hartline, seem to get what it takes to dominate.
Never place a bet on anything that can talk.
Did everyone forget how we played after getting slapped by Iowa last year? We still got plenty to play for
Sort of surprised that ttun didn't jump LSU. But then, SEC

LSU beat UGA and (now freefalling) Auburn. They should be above Michigan.
Media love for ttun rivals SEC teams
Nine ! Nineteen is more like it. Coaching is terrible. Grinch's defense is absolutely horrible. I hope he quietly leaves at the end of the season.
I think it's more Schiano's defense than Grinch's. Schiano needs to step away and give Grinch a shot at calling the whole thing. Can't be any worse.
Amazing how the comments have changed in just a few months. Back in August we had the deepest most talented DL in all of college football. Our LB's were the best we've had in years. The DB group was incredibly talented. Grinch was a home run hire and was the DC in waiting because Schiano was surely going to be hired by an elite program. Studrawa was going to have the OL opening holes for the best RB tandem in college football. Everyone was breathing a sigh of relief that Schiano wasn't hired at Tennessee. Texas Tom and Harbaugh were never going to be successful. Saban and Meyer were (1a) and (1b) as far as who's the best head coach in college football.
You missed it, we won the August NC.
There isn't a team out there that falls further in the polls after a loss than OSU......It's ridiculous.......
Saban on a cart eating cold pizza
This^^^^^ I mentioned it on another post
"Vitalum Vitalis "
Bad teams fall after bad losses, 9 is still 6 positions too high.
IF Nick Saban or Dabo Sweeney coached this team last night, would Ohio State have won the game?
Nope. Not even the best coach in the world can make up for a lack of athleticism and speed at key positions.
Still in the top-10? Just more proof that coaches poll is completely worthless.
