Moore scares me. I've watched a few Purdont games this year and that kid is something special.
He is for them what we all thought Dontre Wilson was going to be for the Buckeyes.
They should just have Fuller provide double coverage on Moore on every play. Let the other WRs beat us if they have to.
" Ohio State needs to figure this out, as Purdue stud freshman Rondale Moore is up next week."
This is true.
I hear Jeff Brohm likes to pass...Schiano, Grinch, and Taver Johnson are going to have to get this secondary prepped.
If our guy is lined up 15 yards off the slot receiver next week I'm going to kick a puppy.
The browns suck and always will. Baker is a huge douche too. May a drunken mod edit this signature because it hurts his butt
There is no reason to punish a puppy, however i guarantee that they will. They will like up 15 yards back....run up 7 yards at the snap and then have to turn back around and chase the receiver as they run full speed past them. That is was they have always done and it's not gonna change now.
Agree, but not hopeful they will do so. So far this season, the Buckeye D has looked entirely unprepared (kind euphemism for baffled) in the first half, but made strong adjustments in the second. This indicates either exceptionally poor scouting or opposing offenses are throwing completely different looks at the Buckeyes. Based on what I've seen from our opponents in other games this season, their offenses are pretty much the same, so that leads me to believe it's the former. I don't know what Schiano and company are doing to prep for games, but it certainly isn't working.

This team has everyone including myself on the edge our seats each week but don't you just love that we're 7-0 while still struggling. OH
Flashbacks of 2002 all over again.
Haskins be like...
I love the long TD passes. Keeps me from having to watch our non-existent red zone offense.
I think Purdue is the most under rated team in the FBS. Two burner receivers and runners, and a QB who is very good.

What’s wrong with playing the 4-3 with a scrape and fill concept and not gap responsibility?
This allows for flow from the LB’s. All gaps don’t need to be covered at once because the ball can’t be in all gaps at once. This strings plays out allowing our team speed to make plays in the run game horizontally..
This also eliminates a problem with LB’s getting beat for big gains either: not making it to the gap, getting beat in one on one, or big OL peeling off of their double team block and walling off the LB. Thus having no one left but the secondary 5-15 yards downfield.
This also allows our LB’s to use their speed an athletic advantages.
Always and forever, Go Bucks!
Read a comment from Werner about that slant route. They were running an rpo over and over where he had to come up for the run, and then they threw it where he used to be. I was waiting for the slant and go fake once someone tried to jump that slant honestly but it never came.
You're too stupid to have a good time. -Dalton
On a day when 4 top 10 teams bit it, OSU survived again. We are getting everybody's best shot as usual. The Bucks are a flawed team, and like all teams have some accumulating injuries, but hey, we're 7-0....
Hopefully they can make some meaningful changes to enhance the running game, because apparently they just paid lip service to it after last weeks IU running issues....I mean, did they even try to fix it?? Two back sets, Taterball, Togiai/Berry or some behemoth in short yardage, personnel changes on the O line, .......the option with TM and Parris Campbell. And here's an observation, as our Ryan Day fast tempo approach faded after the first three games, the running game has tanked. Whatever happened to playing with pace? Push it!
Enjoy the wins over *ichigan, ....I still remember the dark days of the 1990's....
The one problem Ohio State and Urban Meyer don’t have that Alabama and Nick Saban have( which Saban has stated many times as a major concern)...
Ohio state players and coaches can’t be as over confident/complacent based on performance as Alabama.
I would say being able to get 4-7 yards between the tackles will take pressure off the OL and QB , will control the clock , keep the defense off the field resting , and thats how you had always won in football /
there is no need to reinvent the wheel , 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

1. With our weak "D" and poor running game if we didn't have Hasklins we wouldn't have much of a "show" at all.
2. Some may call it a "break but don't bend defense" but seven games in it looks more like a "broke defense" that the coaches have not been able to address.
Agreed Klatt is great in the booth!
I think Brady Quinn is fantastic too. Pound for pound, Fox simply puts on a better broadcast than ESPN. That being said, did anyone see when they cut to the booth at one point and Klatt was standing in just his suit while Gus Johnson was hiding in the corner with full ski gear on? So weird
"Because we couldn't go for three"
I gotta disagree about Klatt. Nearly turned the sound off. He kept going off on that we were going for it on 4th down as maybe due to kicker injury. Watch just a little of our games and you know on 4th and short past the 50 Urban will be going for it especially against what should be a vastly inferior team. Also, he was saying that JK was in on some series because of Mike's potentially injured foot when we simply switch off every series. He may be ok as an analyst in other areas but he doesn't do his homework and understand who Ohio State is.
I was out boating with friends on a perfect sunny day. Had a cocktail or two then watched the 4th quarter of the game. I don’t know what all the fuss is. We were 9 units strong from what I saw.
Klatt is knowledgeable and says it as it is.
He deserves better than an unattractive B1G game on FX1.
I find it weird how the description of Tressel’s experience watching the game mirrors my own.
Before the season I thought the Purdue game is where Ohio State could potentially slip up and lose. After yesterday I'm more convinced than ever Ohio State might lose to them...especially with the game being on the road at night. I have no confidence in the Buckeyes ability to contain Rondale Moore. Injuries on the defensive line have certainly slowed the Buckeye pass rush. I really hope I'm wrong here but, I don't have a good feeling about this game.
I love Haskins' ability to pass, but I am underwhelmed by his athleticism with respect to running. I watched the entire LSU game and I honestly would have taken Burrows - he cannot pass (quite) as well, but he is a runner. The guy is big, strong and athletic. He has 125 QB rating and only 2 INTs....
My fear is that one day we will NOT be able to compensate for NOT being able to pick up a yard. Passing in Novemeber is never a sure thing....
You forgot the sarcasm font. Burrow is playing great but you can’t seriously compare these two right now. The dude has 28 TD passes in ~5.5 games.
I'm sorry but anyone that says they would take Burrow over Haskins is just plain wrong. There is not a single QB in college that I would take over Hasking, not even Tua(he would be the closest)
So you would take a game ending Pick-6 thrown by Burrow last week over Haskins? Please.
Right if you went to LSU and asked if they would trade Burrow for Haskins straight up they would do it in a heartbeat.
kneelblender - i wouldn't take any qb over haskins. you realize haskins is putting up numbers NO ohio state qb has ever put up?
I feel like the second half of the question involving the run game has to involve whether or not the OL will meet expectations. The unit as a whole has continued to struggle establishing their blocking schemes, leaving our backs to get shoestring-tackled at best. Add that to the nightmare that was the return of bad tackle play on *any* kind of play, and I think it’s a key reason the offense struggles everywhere it struggles. Urban’s prided the program on being OL-driven, and I think it’s equally obvious how dysfunctional we can be with the OL play we got yesterday (even if Haskins gets his and balls out despite that).
"If we worked half as hard as our band, we'd be champions."
Rondale Moore scares the crap out of me. Purdue has been the game I have been looking at as a possible loss all year. I hope the team comes out ready to play next week. I'm not sure if the night game is a good thing or bad thing. The team SHOULD be more ready to go for the night game, but it is on the road so it is gonna be a tough.
Totally agree. Hopefully Dwayne Haskins is able to outscore a potent Purdue offense by flinging it, because I'm not confident this is the game we'll get the defensive issues ironed out.
I'm thinking the night game will be good for the Bucks, as we came out with a W in a whiteout PSU night game(although the loss to Sparty may have some reassessing the "quality" of that win for OSU).
Agree with Gus and Klatt. They’re dynamite.
