If you’re lucky enough to be a Buckeye you’re lucky enough.
Damn shame! prayers to his loved ones from all of Buckeye Nation.
I don't apologize for anything. When I make a mistake, I take the blame and go on from there. - Woody Hayes
If you die before you die, then you won't die when you die.
From a drag racer? Heartbreaking
Yeah. Who the fuck drag races? Grow up.
Lifetime vs. UM: L 8-1, C 7-0, T 4-0
Fuck you, some people like cars and going fast you boring sack of shit. That being said, this kind of thing would easily be avoided if drags strips would let people race for free one day a week and allow them to openly make bets.
Stop abandoning the running backs.
Woah. You kiss your mother with that mouth? LCT dicrediting an illegal act makes him a "boring sack of shit?"
That being said, this kind of thing would easily be avoided if drags strips would let people race for free one day a week and allow them to openly make bets.
Yeah, because there's definitely no liability at stake for the strips in this scenario, you ignorant sack of shit.
He didn't discredit an illegal act. He discredited drag racing in general, your reading comprehension is shit tier. It's very nice of you to try to come to his rescue though.
Some race tracks already do this, not nearly enough though. Maybe you shouldn't speak about subjects your clearly ignorant of. You'll never stop drag racing until you give them a place to do it that's safe and free.
He's clearly talking about drag racing on the street....which the whole article is about....which is illegal.
Maybe you shouldn't speak about subjects your clearly ignorant of.
No, it's not. Your reading comprehension is pathetic. There is a huge difference between ILLEGAL street racing and drag racing.
"MUH GRAMMAR MATTERZ ON THE INTERWEBZ" This is what people do that don't have any actual points to argue.
The word ILLEGAL is very important. When I read this headline I thought he was killed at a legit drag strip when a car perhaps flew of the track or something. If any of you knew jack shit about racing you would think the term ILLEGAL would be something important to include, but no, you just lumped every racer in with illegal street racers.
As a racing fan myself, I also thought he was killed at a drag strip until I read that he was hit walking along a road. I, along with just about everyone else, used the reading comprehension skill of “understanding context clues” to figure out that it was two d-bags, of which at least one is a piece-of-shit coward, racing on the road that caused this tragedy.
In fairness to LCT, he likely assumed that commenters would have reached the same conclusion when he posted that.
Long live John Force and his family.
I survived Cooper, and I hate Tai Streets.
Xbrax with your responses I'm reminded of a quote from Tropic Thunder...
I am reminded of a quote from Abraham Lincoln:
Better to be thought a fool, then open your mouth, and remove all doubt.
You do dumb real well.
Thank the Maker that I was born in Ohio, cradle of coaches, US Presidents, confederate-stomping Generals, and home of The Ohio State University Football Buckeyes- 2014 UNDISPUTED National Champions!
You talkin' ta me?
The wait for the most inane post of the year is over.
Totally okay to like cars and going fast, but you can't do it on public streets, and this horrible fully avoidable tragedy is why.
My son is just learning how to drive, and all he talks about is how older kids at his high school race on the three-mile straight stretch in front of his high school and how awesome it is. The sheer stupidity is terrifying.
High school is 4 years.
Life in prison, and the life (or lack thereof) after prison, is forever.
"Do not fear me Michigan Man, all I want is your tears."
XBrax clearly hit you with a DV.
Like I said, the sheer stupidity is terrifying.
Racing on a closed track designed for racing = cool
Racing on a public road that people's spouses, kids, parents etc drive on = idiotic
I'll stand by it.
That's the problem LCT. You shouldnt have to stand by anything. Yours is the only reasoned response.
Wow. Common sense. Damn shame one idiot ruined a memorial thread for a former Buckeye.
I am a mustang enthusiest and have a doomsday pony I built from the ground up. I love to drag race. I am also a law abiding citizen and there is a reason drag racing on public highways is illegal. If one has the money to go fast, they should have the money to pay for places that let you go fast. End of story.
Let's get back to the subject. Thoughts and prayers out to this man's family.
"Life is not about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. THATS HOW WINNING IS DONE!!" - Rocky Ballboa
Another way those things are easily avoided is by following the law.. asshole. If the gun range does not let you shoot for free, do you just go up and down the street randomly firing off shots? I would ask you to use your brain, but It sounds like you are ill-equipped to do that.
Life is full of choices. Make good ones.
Hope they find the sorry bastard that hit him. Turn him every way but loose.
“Right turn, Clyde” would be a good start, and so would a lengthy prison sentence.
I remember him well. He was leaving college as I was going in. As an aside a good reminder that racing cars on public streets is not in fact harmless fun.
Gutless cowards. Murder a fine man and then flee to avoid responsibility. Horrendous. Such a tragedy. RIP Mr. Harrison.
There must have been witnesses if they know it was drag racing. Time to step up and provide the killer's information.
The cowardly kids will start rolling on each other in no time...
Unbelievable. Guy who represents all that is good about the "student athlete" at Ohio State. An educator who clearly cared about the well-being of his students, and someone who served others. We all lose his impact on the world because some guy had to drive his car fast and get a thrill. Such a selfish and stupid move, and one that should be punished severely. RIP Tyrone, Always a Buckeye sir!
A horror for family and friends, and irreplaceable loss for everyone. There's no way to measure this kind of loss.
Senseless, unnecessary tragedy. RIP
Rest in peace Mr Harrison
RIP Tyrone! You will be missed. Prayers to his family...
16-2 is SWEET!
Rest in peace, fellow Buckeye.
To the POS that killed him, Hell hath no fury. Burn.
We had a drag race near our school (I am also an assistant principal) end in a fatality. I can't think of many more senseless ways to die (or kill others).
Sad news. He was at OSU the same time as me. RIP Tyrone.
Will never understand how people live with themselves after a fatal/serious hit and run, whether the person's walking, biking, or driving.
Probably didnt take the time to reflect in the moment and reacted from panic. Hope they come to their senses and do the decent thing and come forward.
If only the fool had taken a moment to reflect BEFORE hitting that accelerator.
"If you take it to em and you keep takin it to em , hell there's no question whose gonna win" W.W.H
Senseless Tragedy. Rest in Heaven.
You win with people.
What a bunch of bullshit. Hopefully they get the cowards who did this.
Hard to contemplate this happening to anyone let alone a former Buckeye and a positive role model in his commmunity, RIP
Wow not only did the driver do something dumb, but didn't even have the guts to take responsibility for what they did. Heartbreaking and disgraceful. RIP
Class of 2010.
Thoughts with all his family and friends. Terrible.
Terrible that this happened. You're in our thoughts and prayers.
Cowards. Absolute Cowards
Harbaugh sits whilst he urinates
RIP but why was he walking along the side of a road seems sort of odd?
I read the article that was linked to from 11 warriors. It mentions where he was walking to a relative's house from a train station. I then took a quick look on google maps, and its only a mile and almost the whole way you can walk on sidewalks to about the last half block near intersection which is close to where he was hit.
"Be a first rate version of yourself, not a second rate version of someone else." - Judy Garland
Just a tragic and senseless situation.
Hope we can all stay safe. You just never know...potential encounter w/ a crazy person is always there
Forty-nine is far too young for anyone to die, and the special community Tyrone Harrison served has lost a great ambassador. A man like that will be very difficult to replace. RIP Mr. Harrison. Best wishes to those he served.
21-year old with a suspended license was arrested and charged.
Thanks for the update.

Unfortunately that's a shit area of town. Lots of illegals and shady stuff always going down after dark. I hope they catch them. RIP Tyrone, you'll be missed.
As long as we beat scUM.
